Pay me 30M, give up assets to get me and also it can’t be cold is a big ask for someone who reportedly “wants to play for a contender”.
In the AFC, that essentially relegates him
to the tier 2 contenders behind the Bills, Chiefs and Ravens.

How many of them will the Chiefs get?
Chiefs have their Garrett/Hendrickson in Chris Jones.DK makes sense for them, just like he does for us, but they have an OL to worry about before they start throwing picks and money at a WR.

would be an incredible developmentalthough it seems less likely we acquire DK since he doesn’t want to be cold
So DK wants to be paid 30M, play for a contender and doesn’t want to be cold? That rules out quite a few teams.
Bills, Packers and Chargers are the main teams I’ve seen linked to him. That would rule out Buffalo and Green Bay, leaving the Chargers… and ok… good luck with west coast Trevor Lawrence.

My hot take is that the game changer is NOT someone like Garrett. It’s someone like Dexter Lawrence.
People see Chris Jones as a wrecking ball in the postseason but alot of that is done from the interior.
I fear that like KC/Tampa, KC/Philly has skewed everyone to thinking we need a Myles Garrett and everything is solved.
Both times KC got murked in the Super Bowl, it was due to a team that could exploit weaknesses because they were loaded up on the DL and pass rushing front 7 pieces.
Officials also allow holding much more in the playoffs.
In regards to Dexter Lawrence, much more difficult to hold two monsters up the middle.
Now maybe Garrett frees up Oliver and Rousseau, and we get that effect, but I know one thing is for sure… Lamar, Burrow, Mahomes etc.. there’s nowhere to go when the interior is constantly collapsed.

the real dream would be scoring more than 31 AND Josh taking fewer hits running
THIS.We get this 31 ppg argument from people all the time, when the reason we score like that is because JA is a freak of nature.
Looking back at this past year, he had an elite OL (credit where it’s due) a good stable of RB’s and then, with all due respect, nonsense to throw to. Injured Kincaid, Knox, rookie Keon/post-injury Keon, injured Samuel, Mack Hollins, injured Cooper with no time to mesh and a really good slot receiver in Shakir.
It’s a miracle we were so good on Offense and all it took was Allen playing most of the year with a broken hand and other nagging ailments.
When compared to Lamar & Burrow, he has so much less at weaponry… and even for the gnashing of teeth in KC with how meh their Offense was with injuries and lack of investment, Mahomes OL sunk them in the end, but you’d have to give them an edge at receiving weapons… which is pretty sad considering how average theirs were.

I'm not saying the Bills should stay pat on offense, just that they don't need another monster on that side of the ball. A Hollywood Brown or Darius Slayton would fit the bill nicely. Yes, with Metcalf they may score even more than the 31 ppg they scored last year (second best in the league), but if signing him means no first-round pick and no big splash in free agency, they'd need to score 35 points a game to compensate for a sieve-like defense.
I’m not saying we should offer our first, but let’s say we did…DK is pretty much all we need on Offense. They could then bring back Mack Hollins and Ty Johnson, or similar type players if they get offered big contracts elsewhere and be pretty much done on Offense. Maybe use a 4th on a WR if they plan to carry 6.
That would leave us with the ability to make probably 1 or 2 starter level signings on Defense, along with two-RD2 picks and then 7 Day 3 picks in the rounds Beane has found good depth/solid starter ability and a few gems.
I’d then still expect us to be in the Myles Garrett trade talks given it sounds like they may have to wait due to cap constraints and we could designate Von as a 6/1 cut and be a team that could fit him under the cap.
What that would then mean for Bernard, Cook and maybe Benford down the line… I don’t know. But the Defense should not be a sieve even if our one big move is DK. Beane would simply have to hit on his other two premium picks and get it right in FA.

Not sure if Maxx Crosby's new contract makes the Bills at all concerned about a new Myles Garrett contract, because trading for Garrett being a one or the other with DK would be, imo, the only thing holding us back from being very aggressive in trying to get DK.

DK would be to JA what Henry was to Lamar. Just disgusting potential.

If you’re putting Benford and Brown as 2nd best over Cook you shouldn’t be allowed to post anymore. Benford is one concussion away from being out of football. and he’s just ok. Consideration for top 3 at their position by who, you? Not great at pass catching by whose standards. He had 39 catches and had 16 TDs and 1000 yds. Should I remind you Josh was sacked 14 times, least in his career. How do you quantify horrible in pass protection. He’s replaced on 3rd down according to Josh, by the best 3rd down back in football. It’s ok to use multiple backs in today’s NFL. Baltimore, KC, Cinn, La,GB all do it. Do you think just because you throw crap on the wall it makes for a good argument. You want to be a capologist or win games?” His greatness is an element of how Brady deploys him”? Do you realize how ridiculous that statement is? 1000 yds on 207 carries, 16 TDs 39 receptions on a 13 win team. It’s all about Brady, right.
I'm not exactly on the pay Benford 20M+ train, but most people who follow this stuff would say Benford is absolutely going to command that and would be viewed as a top tier CB if he hits FA.
And Spencer Brown is absolutely a Top 3 RT.
No, it's not ridiculous. Brady plays Cook on 1st and 2nd downs, many times against light boxes. He hides his weaknesses by rotating in Ty Johnson on passing downs.

you sort of wonder if the cold business moves end up taking a toll on the culture of that organization. They basically jettison a lot of key stars in their primes, with no real warning. Tyreek, Snead, now Thuney.
Thuney seems especially cold, since they basically asked him to play way out of position to keep that team afloat down the stretch.
Let Ward walk as well.
Yet they keep playing in Super Bowl after Super Bowl.
What would the Chiefs do with Benford, Bernard and Cook? Would they extend all of them like we likely will? Probably not.

This mindless snap count argument has no connection to a players value especially when a player like McCafrey played in 41 of 85 games the last 5 years. The Bills in the 3 years with Cook have won 37 games. Value to a team is production with his opportunities to help a team win. 207 carries for over a 1000 yards and when Cook got carries in the red zone he scored 16 TDs leading the league. In the pass game he’s got 97 receptions. The RBs that are paid more than Cook are much older and have played with the Giants and Carolina and Indy. The last 3 seasons the Niners won 31 games. You’re oblivious to a players production in relation to wins. Saquon when he played most of his career had huge amounts of carries because the Giants stunk and had a bad QB and receivers. That’s why they let him walk. Why pay a great back to lose games anyway. McCafrey, when he actually got on the field, got loads of carries that resulted in losses. Saquon was great for one season and Philly gave 21 million a year. Cook is 25 and probably could demand 42 or 44 million for a 3 year deal. The Bills will be silly not to sign him despite your ridiculous arguments discrediting his value. This will conclude my involvement with this colossal waste of time. First it’s blocking and then snap count, no mention of wins and production. You don’t let the best draft choice since Josh and 2nd best player on your team leave when you’re averaging over 12 wins a year genius.
2nd Best Player on the Team?
Josh Allen
Dion Dawkins
Spencer Brown
Christian Benford
All 4 of those guys are in consideration for Top 3 player at their position. And all are at premium positions.
And the fact Cook is horrible in pass pro and not great at pass catching has to factor into contract negotiations. If he wants to be paid anything close to 15M per, he can't be a liability on 3rd down.
I'd acknowledge a case can be made that Cook is in consideration for Top 5 RB.. but a lot of that is due to how Brady deployed him as opposed to just overall greatness.

Who would you give a 3 year $45 million contract to on offense.
Darius Slayton
Marquis Brown
James Cook
None. I'd go after a corner with that money or bulk up at DT.
Slayton is intriguing but that's a big contract for him.. maybe that's what it takes, maybe not. Although, our biggest issue on Offense last year was that nobody respects our outside receivers.. Slayton's speed would be a step in the right direction to knock teams out of man coverage and/or single high safety. Which would in turn open things up underneath for guys like Shakir and Kincaid.
In terms of Offense.. I'm upgrading the outside WR room before I enter any contract talks with Cook. Then if the money is still there and makes sense, ok.

Until you see that money going to Miles Garrett, Devante Adams or Tee Higgins.
Not sure I see them giving up the draft assets for a big trade like Garrett when they need multiple pieces on their OL at a cost control.
I (think) this is more of a move to lock up their own pieces that are coming due.

KC has done this with their secondary and haven't missed a beat.
Let's see if they can do the same on the OL. It's a different beast, and they're already weak on that unit to begin with.

Testament to his character? Now thats laughable. Good stuff really!
The problem with the way the dems acted besides proving that they are ass holes, no one is talking about what trump said. The bits and pieces I watched were his typical lies and really who can watch that bull *****? ***** him really. But now no one is talking about what he actually said. The dems took him off the hook.
What are these lies you were very concerned nobody else picked up on? -
Sure, that kid with cancer was nice but it would be a shame if Donald Trump supporters made him commit suicide..

That speech couldn’t have gone better for Trump.
Couldn’t have gone worse for Democrats.
I have no idea who is advising them.. every moment they have is more embarrassing than the previous one.
Their only hope is that Trump’s tariff gambit doesn’t work out, because they have nothing.
The average American watched that, saw them act like children and seem to oppose.. A strong border? Cutting government waste? Protecting women’s sports?
Trump just spent two hours challenging them to look miserably opposed to things Americans support in 80/20 fashion and they kept falling for it.
They couldn’t even support a kid with cancer or a man rescued from Russia.
I guess they stand on forever wars in foreign lands.. that’s all I got. Seems like that’s Democrats only core principle at this point.

So far, everything he’s hitting on has about 70/30 to 80/20 American public appeal.
And Dems are sitting on their hands and holding up paddles.

Love this.
Im sure Saints fans feel the same way when they’ve essentially had to punt on seasons due to cap constraints.

This sentiment is exhausting.
Yes, their owner is more cash strapped than other owners, but it’s not like they refuse to pay anyone.
Maybe if Burrow didn’t take a massive contract and then demand they pay for two WR1’s.. one being a guy who will reset the market.. they wouldn’t be in this spot.
