  1. I think they’re so intertwined that I’m not sure what the correct answer is. We constantly have issues with being undersized, and that seems to be due to McDermott wanting a gap shooting/penetrating DL, while at the same time wanting to play base Nickel and have undersized linebackers. At some point we have to look at the philosophy as to why this defense A) Deals with so many injuries end of season and B) Gets shredded by QB’s who don’t make mistakes. It all starts with the DL, but the entire Front 7 is built in a way that reflects what McDermott wants. On Offense, we’re lucky to have Josh Allen and Aaron Kromer. With those two, we have far more margin for error on that side of the ball.
  2. Hes been the only piece on that entire defense, let alone defensive line. Getting a guy like him would not only unlock Oliver more, but also allow Rousseau advantageous matchups should we decide to keep him. IMO, adding a guy like him, who would immediately be a locker room fit and fan favorite, not only gives us a guy in his prime that can get us a bucket, but also elevates two other guys on this line. Keep one of our seconds and add a big DT next to Oliver and all of a sudden we turn our constant weakness into a potential game changing strength.
  3. They only do this if they recognize they’re in a multi-year rebuild and Crosby asks them to trade him to a contender. He all but made it clear this is on the table in his interviews as their season ended. If he plays good soldier, it would take someone in their FO recognizing it’s not fair to him to keep him around during a rebuild and also makes sense to gets quality picks that are more in line with their rebuild.
  4. He also plays off Chris Jones. As down as I am on Rousseau as a 20M+ per year player, he’d probably be viewed this way if we had anyone else on the line that played to the level of Jones.
  5. Syracuse Basketball used to help, not so much anymore. Free Agency is always a wild week & March Madness typically starts that week too. Draft in April. Then NBA Playoffs for anyone who cares. Bills will have some random OTA’s in May & June. Then training camp and we’re back. NFL actually does a decent job making itself year round, even if the season is only September - February.
  6. We overrate some guys, a lot. Nobody really references OL in these discussions. We have an elite OL.. had a terrible game against KC. It is what it is. KC has a meh OL, were just fine against us. Taron, Benford and Milano are not those guys. Good players, but not game changers. Maybe Milano comes close if he continues his post-injury trajectory into next year. Fact is, we’ve been great year to year because we have a really good team that never really has a major weakness (unless injuries hit) and is led by the 1/1a best QB in the league. We don’t have a Kelce, we don’t have a Chris Jones, we don’t have a McDuffie and we don’t have a guy that scares teams like Worthy. What we do have are Thuney’s, Humphrey’s, Bolton’s, Chenal’s, Karlaftis, Hopkins types etc.. a ton of guys on that next level of difference maker.. but not the game changing variety. Same as it’s always been. We can get by the Ravens, because Lamar has playoff issues. We don’t have to worry about CIN because they can’t make the playoffs. The game changing player personnel and coaching differences come into play against KC every year when it matters.
  7. In fairness, I think quite a few people started to realize that outside WR separation could be an issue.. and it was in the playoffs against Baltimore and Kansas City. We have Allen and Cook on that side of the ball. Chiefs have Mahomes and Kelce. Difference on offense in the playoffs was Worthy seems to be an actual game breaker… both in the sense he makes plays and keeps focus of the defense. Everyone knew the defense was devoid of playmakers. We all hoped Von would find the fountain of youth and Rousseau would step up for once, but alas, wasn’t meant to be.
  8. In new polling, only 22% of men have a favorable view of the Democrat Party. The gender divide is absolutely insane.
  9. Chiefs are the healthiest year in/ year out of all the AFC contenders. First things first, eyes on the 1 seed. We’ve tried a whole bunch of stuff to get to the Super Bowl, but that’s eluded us. Second, McDermott addressed it.. you need 2-3 game changers on each side of the ball. He wouldn’t say whether or not he thinks we do, but the fact he wouldn’t means he knows we don’t… which means Beane knows we don’t. Can they fix it this offseason, who knows, but knowing is half the problem.
  10. If our QB was Aaron Rodgers or Tua Tagavailoa, what do you think our season looks like? How do you think McDermott and Beane are viewed? They get credit for Allen. And he is why they're still here. That's not meant as a huge insult either.. if you don't have an elite QB, unless your name is Mike Tomlin, you have a limited shelf life as a GM/HC.
  11. Do you think Diggs was ever on the level in big moments as Hill, Kelce and Jones? Looking back, he was never that guy.
  12. If the conclusion one is to draw from that press conference is that we won't go outside the organization much because we need to extend a bunch of guys who don't show up when it matters and hit on draft picks that he hasn't been hitting on.. Color me disillusioned that we'll ever get there. Thing is, Beane also says stuff. He's honest, to a point, but is also someone that can surprise us. We can't make players become available, but if someone is, where it makes sense, I'll gladly trade a couple high picks and let a Benford/Bernard walk in order to finally give Josh a running mate like Mahomes has had x2 or x3 his entire career.
  13. This is a fair point but the difference between KC and us is their guys make plays in the postseason and are available. Who on your list shows up when it matters? Milano, Cook and Shakir. Benford keeps missing the biggest game of they year..every year. Bernard is good but looked like a JAG in that last game. Williams, who knows yet. Chris Jones and George Karlaftis were noticeable. Ed Oliver and Greg Rousseau.. to his credit, Oliver was.. Rousseau, again, not so much. If we eliminate the officiating aspect, the games truly do come down to their coaching staff vs ours and their FO vs ours. We're the only team in the league that can cancel out their QB advantage in the playoffs, and as such, need to be held to a higher standard.
  14. Chris Jones, Trent McDuffie, Xavier Worthy, Leo Chenal, Nick Bolton, George Karlaftis etc., all "drafted low"
  15. I think they need a shake up. If Beane isn't lying and our cap space is to be set aside for extensions of the same guys who have been here 3-4 years and haven't made a difference in the postseason, well... I don't necessarily agree with you, but fear this is a potential outcome.
  16. Part of being a successful NFL player is the ability to play through injury. Too often this is the excuse for guys on our team, whether it's Rousseau with ankle injuries or this year's wrist pandemic... it's pretty common for players to announce surgery after the season. This isn't Bills-centric. If you're only a great player when you're fully healthy, you're not a great player.
  17. I don't even have words to describe how impressive Josh Allen is as a competitor. How? I don't understand how he played through that. I don't know how he played through a partially torn UCL in his throwing arm a few seasons ago either.
  18. In fairness, the 49ers have Nick Bosa and it hasn't mattered when they've had their shot at Kansas City. That said, they also don't have Josh Allen and with him cancelling out Patrick Mahomes, the main difference between their postseason defense and ours has been health, Spags and Chris Jones. We have to, at least, find our Chris Jones this offseason... and all the smoke points to Maxx Crosby. Dexter Lawrence, if we could make a move for him, would also make a lot of sense next to Ed Oliver.. essentially upgrading our DT position in two spots by upgrading one.
  19. “Do you stand by these onesies!?” and ”I don’t really care, Margaret” What a week for one liners…
  20. If this statement is true, there is zero reason to pay Benford. As we stand, we have a recent 2nd Round pick at Safety, a highly paid slot corner and a CB1 who looks to command a 20M+ AAV contract. That’s 3/5th of the Secondary.
  21. DL is of far more importance and will, by default, help the secondary if they improve. I would go into next year with Rapp-Bishop and Benford-Ingram-Johnson and then go heavy Secondary in the middle rounds of the Draft to bring in depth, competition and provide a year of experience in case we move off Rapp or let Benford walk after next season.
  22. It wasn't "the" reason. You're deliberately misrepresenting the sentiment most NFL fans have. Buffalo could have played better, of course. But if we win, the same could be said about Mahomes/Kansas City. He had the turnover. He took the sack near FG range. But we have to own our mistakes, while KC is always absolved of theirs.
  23. Im not sure what your laugh emoji’ing about.. the MAHA movement is massively led by moderate suburban moms. The ones who help decide elections.
