player grades and stats can be skewed, especially when they relate to a game with as many moving parts as NFL football. Teams pay PFF for raw stats. i dont believe the teams pay for PFFs analysis of said stats.

The Process - Now We Know What It Is
bigduke6 replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
without a reliable QB, who can actually throw the football, (ya know, what QBs are supposed to do) the process means nothing. so far so good, OBD has made logical moves that put the team in a better position for the near future, but without that QB, wont mean anything. -
Sammy Watwins to KC on a 3 Year Deal
bigduke6 replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wish Sammy well, i didnt shed a tear for him when he was traded. he has the ability to be top ten receiver in the league, he got traded purely because of the risk. u cant overpay for a guy who was hurt as much as he was while playing here. has he turned it around. mbe, is he worth 10mil per? mbe. will be real interesting to watch next season, if that young QB can find him. if not, Sammy wont be happy. -
Worst local media commentator on the Bills?
bigduke6 replied to VeryWeakPassword's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
isnt he basically a paid employee of the Bills tho? kinda his job -
it wasnt even about Dareus' stats, it was his availability. u dont pay out to a guy whos unreliable. 2 straight years where he was oft-injured. hes no good to anybody if hes not on the field. add this to his off field shenanigans, the terrible contract he had, not hard to see the reasoning behind the trade.

really not sure what Brooks is seeing. We need a QB that can at least keep defenses honest, meaning, is some sort of threat in the passing game Keenum, Bradford, not an upgrade in that department over Tyrod? I disagree.

Was The Tyrod Taylor Era a Success?
bigduke6 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Super Bowl is success. So no, it wasnt a success. After all, winning the title is supposed to be goal. being happy with a playoff appearance, no matter how long its been, ill pass. -
Bradford doesnt excite me, but when hes healthy hes an above average QB. sign him if: 1. Hes healthy 2. he accepts an extremely cap friendly 2yr deal. 3. He promises to not get hurt

every top QB prospect this year has multiple warts depending on who you ask. if we could get Mayfield around 10, for a reasonable price, it would make sense. Mayfield strikes me as a guy who wouldnt mind playing here, he is accurate, showed he has the arm, can make the all the throws. my biggest worry with Baker is his ability to read defenses, cuz frankly, the offense the sooners ran is not pro friendly. the biggest need for any QB to succeed in the NFL is field awareness. Physical gifts are important, but the subpar QB play by 3/4 of pro QBs is directly related to the terrible offenses run by most of the colleges. Spread/Air Raid QBs, ill pass. These offense are used by coaches with QBs that cant read the field well, and thats fine, but it doesnt allow QBs to be NFL ready when they're drafted. Accuracy, field awareness please.

people are passionate about this team, each person has an opinion about this topic. I personally wont "hate" our starting QB at the start of the season. I may not agree with whomever it is, but i sure wont hate him. I will support him and cheer the team on until, i see a body of work, whether good or bad, and make a logical decision as to whether or not to continue supporting said QB. I would hope the majority of Bills fans will be this rational when the season begins. I suspect they will be. Go Bills!

again, u seem to be using me to push your agenda and you didnt read anything i previously posted. you cherrypicked one line out of context and went to town. the discussion was about risk aversion. take your weak knee crap elsewhere. at no point did i say definately dont take a QB. few of u around this forum seem to jump in late without taking the time to read the discussion thoroughly. its like youre itching for a fight and gonna try to stir one up no matter what. its a discussion, not a winner take all. grow up.

Sal C’s “Dear Browns fans....” about Tyrod Taylor
bigduke6 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hey, least he gets to be the QB for a bit. in reality i find it tough to think of many places that Tyrod would be coveted as a teams starter, other than Cleveland. -
Do you REALLY THINK our GM & HC will trade UP?
bigduke6 replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my take on this coaching/management staff so far, they have a plan, started working on it right after McBeane got here. theyre sticking to it. accumulating draft picks, most likely to move up and grab their guy at QB accumulated those draft picks because this was supposed to be the best QB draft in a decade all of a sudden it doesnt look like the best QB draft in a decade. somehow we won 9 games, made the playoffs, wasnt expected, now we're stuck with crappy first round pick position, add that to KCs draft pick we acquired. now things change significantly with the process. i really dont believe OBD thought they would be in this exact position they find themselves in right now. spend alot for a chance at a QB, or stay pat and build the rest of the team. tough position to be in. should be fun to watch. -
The "We have too many holes" argument
bigduke6 replied to ColdFront_USAF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
really we're just a QB away from being a threat in the AFC. i look at most of our cast offs, and they flourish elsewhere, especially our maligned receivers, competent QB throwing to them, they put up numbers. ex. Woods, Hogan, Sammy, and even Goodwin. sure we have holes to fill. every team does. DT is a must, and of course QB. -
exactly what a majority of browns fans want to happen now. Barkley, trade the 4th pick or take the best QB available run run run, let Tyrod manage the game. Sounds familiar. Browns fans are under the impression Tyrod wouldve been alot better if the Bills had talent tho.

Has there ever been a more fun, anticipated off season?
bigduke6 replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
oh ya its fun alright, for some teams its more fun than the regular season (Browns) -
and that would be fine, my point all along has been about risk aversion. of course we need a QB, and it would be great to get a top prospect, no doubt. if mayfield fell to 10, sure go for it. if, and only if, thats who OBD all loved from the start. dont overreach just to get a guy, cuz the real guy u wanted is gone. many thing to like about mayfield, his college offensive scheme is not one of them though. not a fan of the spread offense. dont care about his height, swagger, his tiny bit of off field issues. he can throw, but can he read the whole field?. thats what ive been looking for in a QB since Kelly walked away. all the arm talent in the world means nothing if u cant make the right decisions before the ball lets loose.

u know when its a good time to take a flyer on a top QB that has a less than 50% chance to succeed? its when u dont give up six fricken picks to take that chance. ffs if had to explain that to too u.....like i said read the thread. u give 2 examples of guys who've done absolutely nothing in this league to this point. and their respective teams gave up little to get them.... its about how much u need to give up to gamble on an unknown commodity. ffs. we get it, u want a top QB, and nobody elses opinion matters. must be a wonderful world u live in.

u seem to forget that many of those 9 wins were despite what our QB did. it was clearly evident in year 2 of Tyrod that opposing defenses had figured him out.
