this doesnt surprise me one bit. USWNT played in Mexico some time ago, and the stadium had fully kitted armed security ringing the pitch. body armor, tac helmets, pistols, the whole shebang, for what was a tiny crowd compared to the capacity of the stadium they played in. Central and South America is no joke. the security situation down there is a mess. so you want to send celebrity millionaires to some of the highest per capita cities for kidnapping, riding around in armored vehicles? the insurance companies must be having a fit. next WWC is in Brazil, and you have to wonder how safe its going to be for all the teams/players. no hate to these countries, but you cant ignore just how unsafe it is for foreigners, even in the tourist zones. you couldnt pay me to go to Mexico, the cartels run a 1/4 of that country outright, and have their fingers in nearly everything else in the other parts. Brazil isnt much better. just another example of how your boss really doesnt care about you. its all about the money.

Jefferson gets paid: 4yr, $140m contract signed
bigduke6 replied to KingBoots8's topic in The Stadium Wall
a lot of money for a guy who relies on somebody else to throw him the ball on a consistent basis. Vikes better hope theyve found a QB. -
Kaiir Elam discussing the last 2 years & his struggles...
bigduke6 replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
for a first round pick, who was a man to man corner in college, its beyond me why he was drafted by Beane and McD. surely McD, a guy who knows corners, knew there was a possibility of Elam not being comfortable with playing in a primarily zone defense. round peg square hole. Elam has shown flashes of being a good corner, hes also shown to be a liability with penalties. just not sure what you do with this young man. im sure his confidence isnt great at this point. seems like a dumb pick, that has now affected this young mans future and wasted a valuable pick in the process. -
Floyd was the sneakiest signing Beane ever pulled off. he was great the first half of the season until he got injured. played hurt the rest of the year and you could tell. sorry to see him go tbh.

didnt mind Boomer or Simms. im sure theyll be replaced with 2 guys that are either more boring or are louder and know nothing. either way, watching pregame shows is a waste of time now anyways, theyre all bad. imagine whats really happening here is, fire old guys with big contracts, hire new guys for less. happens everywhere.

Bills sign Chase Claypool, Smoot, Jones
bigduke6 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
never heard of the other 2 guys so dont care really, Claypool though, has been around, and theres a reason he cant seem to stick anywhere. worth a flyer on him i suppose, wouldnt expect much though. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
bigduke6 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
great player, bit of a douche. maybe hes a good person, dunno, just know what i see on the tv etc. imo the hate isnt because of the winning, its the other stuff. -
people may look at Coleman as Benjamin, id rather look at him as possibly a Mike Evans. Evans isnt a burner either, but his big body is going to get him in the HoF eventually. ya it may be a stretch, but u cant teach size.

Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Round 1 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
bigduke6 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bears took the full time to see if somebody would wow them with a last minute trade. nothing more. no reason not to use the entire time and see what happens. -

zero confidence in the Bears developing this kid or setting him up for success. -

McAfee Draft Spectacular Show Featuring Bill Belichick
bigduke6 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
yep im thinking Bill is blackballed as well. think the league and the owners have had enough of him, and knowing what he wants, to break Shulas record, theyre happy to keep him from getting it. -
Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one
bigduke6 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh is in his prime. swing for the fences. if you can reach one of the big 3 for decent value, do it. ive heard Beane only has 15 prospects labeled as actual 1st round grades. assuming the top 3 WRs are in there, go get one. we need a difference maker, not a wait and see. -
Will we be in Super Bowl contention this year?

as long as we have JA17, the window is still wide open. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
bigduke6 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
sorry, i dont trust Bill. he was a-- as a head coach before Brady, and hes been a-- since. i truly wonder just how much of the cheating led to their dynasty. Bill has always been a good D coordinator but he always seemed to know what the other team was doing. the things the Pats got busted for doing over the years, are most likely the tip of the iceberg. there was so much smoke, there had to be a fire. Bill has also proven that he cant develop anything on the offensive side of the ball, beyond 1 QB, and thats with having full control as GM for all those years. i doubt he comes to the Bills with zero GM power. btw, the Pats also started to struggle as Brady got older, and the Pats were clamped down upon by the NFL for their extracurricular activities. then Brady leaves and immediately wins another ring. i dont buy Bill. i think the rest of the league doesnt buy him either anymore. -
Do you think Allen feels relief after the Diggs trade?
bigduke6 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
think Josh probably harbors no ill will towards Diggs. im sure hes a bit relieved. it opens the door for Allen to be the lone top dog now. there are no bigger voices. actually means something in a team environment. -
The Draft is a Total Crapshoot (Per Science)
bigduke6 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
the teams are all throwing darts at a board with their eyes half shut. its mainly what happens when the player gets with the team, and how the team handles the player after that. good organizations, good coaching, matters more. all these guys are fast and big, its about how theyre used and brought along. for instance, you wouldnt want to draft a CB whos only good at man to man, if your defense plays zone 90% of the time. teehee. there is one caveat to this though, if you know a guy is a one hit wonder, or gives up on plays early, etc, doesnt matter how talented they are, probably going get half assed work out of them. need to stay away from that like the plague. -
Josh still in his prime, team is about as good as its going to get. now is the time. you want a Super Bowl? you need to win now. do what it takes to grab one of the top 3 receivers in this coming draft, preferably Harrison Jr.. its going to cost a ton, but it doesnt matter, you need a top young receiver on the cheap and its now or never. every year Josh is getting older, and injuries do happen, more so when players start to age. go for it.
-
one huge difference between Jr and his father and uncle. they both mattered, were trying to challenge and or change existing parts of the govmint that some very very powerful people were not happy about changing. Jr, isnt important, hes a nobody with a famous name. so Aron can take a break and.....relax.... and stop worrying.

i liked what Phillips brought at times. guy just couldnt stay healthy though, and there were times where he drew dumb penalties. wish him the best, hope he can stay healthy.

Report: Micah Parsons act is "wearing thin" in Dallas
bigduke6 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
i dont know Parsons. im told hes the best defensive player in the league atm. is it him? the guys around him? the scheme? the play calling? the coaching? or a mix of all, or none? who really knows. Football is the ultimate team game. everybody has to perform for this guy to be able to do what he does. maybe hes a headache, or maybe he just wants to win before hes pushed out of this league. some guys are motivated by the money, some are motivated by winning it all, some both. whatever, id still take a flyer on him if we had cap space, has to be better than Von at this point. -
great player, bad human. wont be missed.

not surprised by the move. a bit surprised there was a trade partner. his salary is immense for the production he put out last season along with his age. not going to pretend to know what was going on behind the scenes at OBD, but, Diggs was a pro, a team captain, took a pounding and always showed up, until recently. maybe he wanted out, maybe he dogged it a bit to force his way out. we do know that he wants to play with his brother, so moving onto Texas at least gets him closer. ty for your time here Stefon, was exciting nearly every week. to all those that see this as an incoming homerun swing into the top 5 to nab a receiver, be careful, receiver is the hardest spot to transition from college to the pros. top guys flame out or take years to produce, all the time. sure theres been a handful of guys lately that were plug and play, but thats not the norm. short of grabbing Harrison Jr, i wouldnt even bother. ideally what you want to do is exactly what Beane did those years ago with Diggs, you want to find an established guy 1 or 2 years into showing consistency, and trade for that. the draft is a crap shoot.
