I'm split. I love the draft picks ups but our current depth chart took a big hit. Jordan Matthews has a ton of flaws in his game and will never, ever, ever possess anything near the upside of Sammy, and Darby's one year removed from being a complete revelation. I get that he might not fit the current defense but EJ Gaines was horrible last year. We've lost both of our starting corners and arguably the most talented wide receiver the organization has ever seen. I feel like we're just going to see a slow plodding offense coupled with a defense that gets torched on its way to 4-12. It's hard to get excited right now despite the ridiculous draft haul for next year, and it's August, I frankly don't give a **** about next year right now.

You could have just stopped with your initial argument. You didn't make terrible points, but nobody in their right mind agrees with this. Matthews is slow, drops a ton of balls, and was arguably in danger of being cut this year. Somebody had to catch the balls that he did. It doesn't make him elite in the same way that Stevie Johnson and Kenny Britt aren't elite. They've all been serviceable receivers on offenses that don't have elite receivers. Overall I'm not convinced that this is a tank and don't hate the trades since I was skeptical of Sammy sticking around after this year anyway, but he is light years beyond Matthews in terms of real talent.

The guy has been doing the anti-Tyrod schtick for months. And is terribly annoying. He's clearly a troll and isn't needed. Criticism doesn't earn a ban, c'mon now.

Are people just trolling with this yawning / no interest BS? Or is this board full of 19 yeas olds? Boldin is a beast. The guy put up 8 TDs last season and has been voted man of the year before. We have a young WR corps that needs depth and veteran leadership. This is an absolutely perfect fit. I feel like the same people dismissing this move would be drooling over signing some 23 year old practice squad track star...

So now we're placing an asterisk next to Andre's HOF status? How depressing. OK, agree to disagree then. I'd place Andre firmly in the top-32 of all time, but I'm not 78 years old, so take it with a grain of salt I guess.

There's a pretty fixed number here - top 32. Let's disregard old players who put up 5,000 yards in 7 seasons and focus on the modern era - Torry Holt and Rod Smith were included in his top 32 WRs of all time. Are they in the Hall of Fame? Because Andre Reed is. Do you agree that Rod Smith and Torry Holt are better than Andre Reed, despite general consensus? Do you also think that Ezekiel Elliott is already a top RB of all time?

but would anybody really rank Mac Speedie over Andre Reed, other than some old analyst trying to prove his extensive historical knowledge of football? because that's what Gil Brandt did. stats, career, ability - there's no comparison Ezekiel Elliot in his top RBs too... top RBs of all time. Ha, I just mentioned this. Gil is a dinosaur that should not be taken seriously. This guy actually ranked Rod Smith over Andre Reed as an all-time WR, and don't even get me started on his constant reaching into the past for old players that have no business being compared to Andre or any premier WRs from the past three or four decades...

Couldn't help but notice that Andre didn't make crazy old Gil Brandt's recent top 32 (!) WR's of all time. Monk, Hines Ward, Holt, Rod Smith (c'mon now), and some players from the 40's that likely couldn't compete in the NFL of the 60's let alone 90's were on the list, but no Andre. Forever the underdog. I'll be checking this out.

I didn't really think anything of it one way or the other. More importantly a lot of scouts didn't seem to think he was worth a 1st. If you're talking about an emotional spazz but a true blue chip then it shouldn't matter, draft that guy.

Bit of a stretch. Why do you think this? Sammy hasn't really done anything that would indicate that he's a head case. He's just hurt. It sucks. He's been a professional that makes plays when healthy.

So the Bills came in, managed to draft 3 starters in the first 2 rounds, and got a 1st for next year. I'm finding it really hard to hate that.
