The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged
SoCal Deek replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Again….no argument on the adjustments but ‘crippling’ us? Seems a tad harsh. Every team has a weak spot. Some have many. I don’t see this as being a huge issue, yet. It’s a long season and as Gene Hackman said in Hoosiers: “THIS is your team.” -

It’s definitely a weak spot Simon. Nobody is arguing that. Not even me. The point is that THIS is the team for the remainder of 2023. If you can ‘watch’ that weakness from your television I’m going to assume the highly paid coaching staff can as well. Now…let’s see if they make adjustments for it. As I’m sure you’re aware, there isn’t a starting RT waiting to swoop in from the union Hall. -

As I said…you do you. I’m going to read and listen to those on here who are sharing something constructive from their professional experience on the topic. -

I’m fully aware. Just seems to me the complaining should reserved for Washington fans….at least this week anyway. -

The Bills just destroyed the Commanders in a game in which we had something like NINE sacks while our starting RB nearly broke 100 yards and we choose now to complain about the offensive line? Okie Dokie? -

Isn’t this why the team has a highly paid coaching staff? They better get to work and scheme up an offense that accounts for Brown’s shortcomings. And remember….No team has 22 Pro Bowlers on their starting roster. -

They’d be forced to sit on the side without slot machines. -
Linebacker Louis? Is that a thing? 😉

I’m guessing you’re more comfortable with people giving opinions with absolutely no personal experience whatsoever. You do you! 😉 -
When Coordinators get hired to be a Head Coach

It’s a balancing act for sure and different for every ‘boss’ in every industry. I always felt like I was wasting my time just walking around checking on other middle managers all day. Once you have the Process set, there’s more than enough time in your day to jump in and actually get things done. As far as I can tell McD is ready to take the next natural step. -

Long before the Raiders moved to Vegas I had hoped the NFL would’ve had every team play a game there once a year. The entire thing would be one big party and an annual must-attend road trip for fans. The Super Bowl could’ve been played there every four or five years as well since it’d be a truly neutral site for everyone. Now with a seventeen game schedule it would’ve been even more ideal. Nobody would lose a home game. Unfortunately they went the route of having a team of their own. -

One of the advantages of being in a leadership position in a business like professional football is that it works to a REALLY strict annual calendar. So while during your first year I’m guessing everything is coming at you pretty fast, by the time you get a few seasons under your belt you get very accustomed to the rhythm of it all. (Not all that different from being a rookie QB where the game slows down.) So I’m pretty sure McD is now more than ready to take on the added responsibilities of DC. He probably couldn’t have done it a few years ago. My management journey was exactly the same even though my annual calendar wasn’t quite as stable. -

I’m always amazed when I travel on the weekend during football season. When/if you do you’ll see hundreds of people in airports all over the country wearing NFL gear. They’re all traveling to a road game somewhere. It’s really pretty cool! -

Very well said. It’s exactly how I ran my business. But…there are others whose core competency is actually ‘management’ and not ‘doing’ the actual work as I did, and you apparently still do. It was my philosophy that I could sit in my office contributing nothing more than oversight all day, or I could do that AND pull on the proverbial wagon. Many in management think the promotion is a ‘get out of work for free’ card. I never chose that path. I never felt that I was too expensive to actually help get things done. I had many business partners who sadly never learned that lesson. -

What a mess! The Rams are excruciating to watch. How many guys are on defense for the Bengals… TWENTY? -
“Furious” or curious? You never know with spell check on this board. When you’re winning 37-3 I’d recommend you go with the latter. You’ll live longer. 😂

I use the Time and Date website to get a two week forecast. Right now it’s showing 71 and cloudy for the game….but remember it’s London so it changes pretty regularly.
-
Well there ya go. Good thing we’re arriving on Thursday morning then! Fingers crossed.

I do not believe the Express is part of The Tube system at all. They have their own ticketing and marketing system. It’s essentially a privately run train line….I think.
-
We always take the HE to St Pancras because it’s then close to our hotel at Hyde Park. You can check online to see if they also have one that goes to Paddington but even if they don’t, just get on The Tube from St Pancras and head to your hotel. Not sure where you’re staying. I take it back. I just looked it up. Paddington is actually closer to our hotel than St Pancras but even at that it’s just a couple of quick Tube stops to get to Hyde Park area. Getting around in London is super easy!

Depending on where you’re headed in London I highly recommend booking a ticket on the Express. It’s cheap and you can do it online. You can even book it with a round trip for your return heading out. It’ll get you into Central London in a matter of minutes with no stops direct from the airport. From St Pancrass Station you can then get just about anywhere on the Tube. Way, way faster and cheaper than every other alternative, and you hop on the train immediately inside Heathrow. Piece of cake!
