Reducing the size of the stadium has less to do with increasing demand for tickets as it does increasing the number of premium seating options. This has been a trend in new stadium design. While the number of seats is reduced, the size of the stadium is actually increased to accommodate the premium seating and amenities.

Not sure what you mean by the ‘size of the stadium’….but I’m guessing you’re referring to the square footage of the enclosed, non-seating areas. If so, yes, the trend is for much larger concourses, more plentiful restrooms, along with large open bar and restaurant seating areas.

Sometimes when I get high my my will wander and think about inflation.  The Bills were bought by Ralph Wilson in 1959 for $25,000...now worth $5 billion.

    That's a 20 million % increase in 65 years.

I hope to be alive in 65 years and if we keep the same 20 million % increase....this franchise will be worth 1.000005E+15- I don't even know what this means.

    Any mathematicians on here?

Also, did you know 1 million seconds is 11.5 days.  1 billion seconds is 31 years?  That's how much bigger a billion is than a million...

And our national debt is $34 TRILLION! Let that sink in.

  3. Caught just a little bit of the Patriots / Eagles game tonight and the burning question around the NFL has to be ‘what the heck has Alex Van Pelt been eating since he retired from playing? The dough boy has packed on more than a few pounds. Dude….push back from the buffet table!

It's pretty easy for me, I would have never had let Diggs go, drafted Coleman and would go hardcore after Aiyuk.

Appreciate it. Most folks post stuff but rarely say what they’d do if they were in charge. The only thing I’d say about your ‘all in’ strategy is that it’s rarely worked. I’m in Southern California and have watched USC try the same in college football.. While they were a prolific offense with all kinds of weapons galore their defense couldn’t stop anyone….i mean nobody, and they flamed out big time even with the NFLs top pick at QB and a gunslinger head coach. It was exhausting to watch

My unpopular take on the KC game is that Josh blew that when he went for the EZ rather than just getting the first down. Needed a TD on that drive or to run more clock. That game was lost by the offense, as bad as the defense was they did just enough where they were in position to win.

I agree. And what’s lost in all of the Monday morning quarterbacking is that if you knew it, and I knew it, and everyone else in America knew it, then why the heck our we throwing the ball deep? You keep the ball. You bleed the clock. You get deep into the red zone. And you make damn sure that you don’t give the ball back to KC. Our coaching staff has learned absolutely nothing.

Yep in the era of free agency nobody is keeping Frank Reich as a backup for 9 years. Just isn't happening. Your choices now are:

    1. The 4 or 5 established bridge/backup guys in the league at any one time who are normally signed to decent contracts by teams with a question mark at the position or who are intending to draft their starter that year: Gardner Minshew, Jacoby Brissett, Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton types....

    2. The former starter who hasn't quite established themselves as a reliable backup yet but still feels like a talent worth a punt on but again get decent FA money unless you can snag them while still on a rookie deal: Carson Wentz, Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Kenny Picket, Mitch Trubisky, Mac Jones...

    3. The mid-round guy you drafted, tried as a starter, and now have cheap as a backup still on a rookie deal: Sam Howell, Davis Mills, Desmond Ridder, Kyle Trask....

    4. The bounce around the league guys who go from team to team year on year as backups and normally never see the field and when they do have inconsistent results: Josh Dobbs, Tyrod Taylor, Mike White, Jake Browning...

Sometimes you strike lucky with a guy from category 4. The Bengals did last year. But Jake Browning had been in the league for four years without seeing the field. It's not like anyone was ranking him as a top backup.

If the Bills are really stuck and Trubisky stinks it up again in pre-season the realistic, logical option I can see is trade with the Falcons for Taylor Heinicke. He is the bounce around the league category too, but looks like being the #3 in Atlanta as things stand. He would only bring a $1.2m cap hit with him and I'm not sure who else is coming that cheap with a chance to be an improvement. I'm not saying he is definitely better than Trubisky, but if it isn't working with him then Heinicke is a viable and attainable alternative IMO.

Should there be a Category 5? Most commonly referred to as the Peterman Category.

DiNucci is going to get thrown to the wolves in the 2nd half vs the Steelers 3rd and 4th stringers without knowing much of the playbook. I hope for his sake he can make some plays, but it could be as ugly as the 2nd half of the Bears game last week.

Agreed. One more real time example of how preseason has run its useful course. We’re down to getting a QB off a barstool and a LB whose childhood dream was to play for the Bills. Next week we can see if Rudy is still hanging around the Notre Dame locker room.
