The way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't end up pushing the schedule release to June or July in the future.  Anything can happen between now and then with big moves, so the NFL can make it more interesting which means more $$$$. They moved it after the draft to garner more interest in it.

Again, huh? The moved the schedule release to a traditional DOWN MONTH to fill air time on the television network they own and operate. It’s not complicated. And it’s not a conspiracy.

The NFL and the schedule release is ridiculous, anything for the Almighty dollar.

Did anyone ever think Rome would fall?

Huh? What’s ridiculous about it? Would you prefer to just show up at the stadium this September hoping there’s a game and wondering who they’re playing? 😳

Yeah, you think they would install them next year because they’ll be exposed to harsh elements this coming winter.

Do you think it’s possible they’re far ahead of schedule?

It’s not weather that the contractor would be concerned about. The seats are designed to be outside in the elements for many years. It’s breakage from construction activity. And it’s just that sort of breakage that gets into protracted finger pointing between the various subcontractors on the project. As regards the overall schedule, it’s most likely not an indication of anything more than that the seats were ready, and delivered, so the General Contractor elected to take the risk of having them installed ‘early’.

I was looking at that and saying "they need to install 60,000 of those suckers!"  And I'm sure some are more elaborate.

It sounds like a lot but I can assure you it goes really fast. That’s why I’m amazed to see them going in so early. What the construction team is generally concerned about is breakage if they’re installed too early. It’s the same with all finish materials like glass, cabinets, etc.

The POPE?  I’m a devout Catholic.  I’m hoping this is some gross joke that’s not funny.  Pope Francis just died.  You may not care, but I do.  Did you ever hear do t talk sex, politics, and religion?

I so t reply to this post again.  If you’re anti-catholic, or any faith, you have that right, but you do t need to advertise on a Bills website.  C’mon.

Huh? I believe the new pope is from Chicago. First American pontiff. Seems like the post had ZERO intent to be anti-ANYTHING! Relax.

  6.  Virgil… I imagine that you’ll regret if you’re not under the roof. ( I always say the same out here in Southern California if the shadow is just quite not reaching our row and we’re cooking in full sun.)So if it was me I’d definitely go for the first few rows of the upper deck. The new stadium is smaller and steeper so the sight lines should be perfect.

    my two cents

I had a fun time in Green Bay. It was great seeing Lambeau Field and I love the draft.

The Packer fans were great and it was neat seeing all the neighborhood houses right next to the stadium.

That being said, I wasn't staying in Green Bay. It was too damn expensive. I had to fly into Milwaukee, which was a lot cheaper than flying into Green Bay, and I had to stay in Appleton, which was a good 30 miles away from Green Bay.

The price gouging by the local businesses is disgusting, so you have to watch your money. Thankfully there wasn't any of that in Appleton.

Green Bay was nice, but still too small for the event.

It looked like a sea of people. Could you sit down? Were there restrooms anywhere around?

If you do the math I think the difference over 40 yards between a guy that runs a 4.2 vs a 4.4 40 is a little more than a yard.

On a related note have you ever seen the graphic where they show the position of a baseball to home plate depending on the speed of a pitch? It’s pretty amazing how much different a fast ball is from a curve. A curve is something like six feet out in front of the plate when the fast ball is already crossing the plate.

BINGO,,,, you don't have to be super fast to get open on a deep route, Palmer has gotten open plenty of times on deep routes, Moore avg ypc was 8.8 vs Palmers 15.0 ypc average.. doesn't take a rocket scientist to see who catch's more deep balls.

Thanks! Also true…and my point is it doesn’t even matter if he gets ‘open’. Thinking that the safety just sits on the underneath stuff because the WR isn’t quite so fast is plain foolish. A good OC designs the route tree to clear out for the underneath crossing routes no matter how fast the outside WR is.

  10. Totally random? Okay…some similarly old fan can correct me but I think it was a preseason game when James Harris was at QB and he took a quarterback sneak something like 98 yards for a touchdown. I believe it still may be the longest play in Bills history…but being a preseason game it doesn’t register.

Some fans can't get that concept doc.  You break the cover er 2 shell by running a fast guy at a safety.  Either he follows helping open up the mid area, or he gets burned for a deep ball.

I guess some don't think DC's will wise up and take away the underneath/ mid area of the field for some reason.

That’s true but it doesn’t mean that the safety allows a slightly slower WR to just run right by him. We’re talking fractions of a second on 40 yard times here. It’s as much about route construction and play design as it is about pure speed.

Also a short video where they're installing the first lighted K in one of the "Highmark" signs on the exterior. Awesome.

That’s an amazing amount of progress in a single calendar year. With the superstructure completed you’ll see what looks like a slow down in the coming months as much of the work will be happening on the interior of the concourse levels.

  13. People often criticize the GM (including me) but when you see this list you realize he has a TON on his plate every year. All these contractual plates need to be kept spinning while at the same convincing the players, and their agents, that they’re each ‘critical’ to the current and long term success of the franchise. I’m guessing it’s exhausting.

Well, I generally agree with you. He's not likely to emerge as a top-10 receiver.  Those guys have special talent, and it shows up wherever they may be playing.

However, the beauty of McDermott's system, and the wideout philosophy in general, is that system doesn't require him to be a top-10 receiver. It doesn't require ANYONE to be a top-10 receiver. What the system hopes it can get out of each receiver is 600-1000 yards, Instead of requiring a 1500-yard man, this system just requires that Beane find several 800-yard men. That's a much easier task.

The receiver room looks better with Moore and Palmer than without them, for sure.  Both have shown that they can get that kind of yardage.  Whether they make the room better than with healthy Cooper and Hollins is a real question for some, but I think the Moore and Palmer offer more upside.  If Samuel is the weakest player in the room, I think it's a strong group.

So McD has an offensive system too now? That guy does everything!
