    Thanks, Deek.

And one other thing about that play.  People are saying it was a bad decision because the window was small.  Well, as others have said, if he can make the throw consistently, he's supposed to throw it.

It's the same as saying Steph Curry makes a bad decision when he shoots from 30 feet.  Yes, that's a bad shot for most other guys to take, but it isn't a bad shot for Curry.

That was the Tyrod's main problem. He didn't work the designed progressions fast enough. So by the time he was ready to make the throw, the progressions would have already passed him by and he was left to scramble to the sideline. (I'm also guessing the Bills passing routes were not well designed to come up in the sequential orders like I suggested.)

  2. Watching the replay of the Bills/Panthers game the other day it appears that many fans came dressed as empty seats!  The NFL cannot be happy with it.  Players are sitting out. Fans are staying home. Coaches are admitting there's no real game planning.  The sport has evolved away from Pre-Season as it's always been.  It may be time to rethink the venues and like the NBA and European Soccer, start playing the preseason games in stadiums that wouldn't typically get an NFL game.  There are quite a few middle size markets that don't have a 'home team'.

I think this absurd. He made the read, determined the man was open and threw the touchdown.  He's not supposed to look to the left if he had a man open.

Yeah, some will say, but that guy wasn't open.  Not open for Peterman, but he was open for Allen.

He was supposed to make that throw.

Thanks Shaw.  Most don't understand that a well designed NFL passing offense is designed to have WRs come open at different times as the QB naturally scans his way across the field.  The QB goes through his progressions, either left to right, or shot to deep.  If a WR on the opposite side of the field happens to be open, it makes little difference as the QB's progression is designed to take his eyes there...yet.  The really successful NFL QBs read their designed progression and make the throw in a split second....just like Allen did.

Stadiums, like all structures, have a useful life.  At a certain point on the cost curve the upkeep of retrofitting and renovating an old stadium becomes less economically sound than a new build.

Very well said.  (I know because I've made the same point many times over when this topic is brought up.)  Most don't realize that "Rich Stadium" is now older than the "Rockpile" was when it was replaced.  That always blows my mind!

Um yeah....someone with actual experience coaching QB’s.  The whole “Buffalo can’t get any coaching candidates” narrative is so 2007 and flat out wrong in 2018.

Also, this is the NFL.   It’s not like coaches post the positions on Indeed.com and review resumes.  The use their connections to solicit candidates that might be a good fit and available.  Culley was hired because McDermott felt he was the right guy.  The jury is very much out of him - we shall see.

I believe you missed my point.  Was there another QB Coach candidate that the OP wanted to see hired?  If so, please list him/them, and then as you correctly stated, what if any relationship they might have to come and work under Coach McD.

I see Nicklaus's grand kid more in jeopardy of not making the roster than Logan.

No way! Other than the obligatory shot of Niagara Falls and the Anchor Bar, without O’Leary there’s nothing for the national media to fill a three hour broadcast!

I guess you can debate how much impact a QB Coach has on the talent, but sometimes I wish the Bills hired a coach with a better track record for developing QB’s or an upcoming coach with potential.

The vast majority of Culley’s experience has been as a WR coach and he is a veteran who is respected around NFL circles.  Still he has no experience developing QB’s.  I guess Beane and McDermott are comfortable with him though.  Their jobs are on the line and they trust him to coach up the franchise QB

As with any job search you have to hire from the candidates who apply. Did you have someone specific in mind?
