I mentioned this earlier and I realize hindsight is twenty twenty but if memory serves me correctly the Bills moved up and used an additional First Round pick on Sammy when just one pick later they could have drafted Mack, and so now they’re going to spend two more First Round picks on him? That’d probably make Mack the most ‘expensive’ selection in the history of the NFL. Pretty frightening when you look at it that way.

Hard for me to believe that O’Leary hasn’t done what’s expected of him, and yet Clay makes the roster?

Well, maybe in the '70s but definitely not during things like Babe Ruth playing baseball and WWII
Leonardo Da Vinci must have been just guessing I guess.

Does anyone know when this game replays on NFLN? I have to leave for a wedding in PA and the timing gets wonky, but I’ll want to see it. I think.....
It's on Saturday morning around 9:00am East Coast time.

Forgive me for not reading thru everyone's posts but wouldn't this mean we used two first rounders on Sammy, and then would turn around use two first rounders on Mack, who we could have had when we drafted Sammy? I mean.....YIKES!

everything is so much more colorful now... It kind of makes you respect the artists who were able to paint in dazzling colors when the world looked so drab.
You are aware that the real world was actually in full color even when TV was limited to black and white.....right?

His guaranteed money would be four times the original cost of Rich Stadium! (Just to link this another thread.) I hope he comes with parking and seats.

The article is an opinion piece. Why does it bother anyone? This site is full of people with opinions. Everything you read shouldn’t cause you to light your hair on fire!

The bills are building a new weight room for $18 million. Really puts that in perspective.
Yeah but i hear it’ll have color TVs and an awesome salad bar....so that might be responsible for the a good portion of the cost increase. ?

Actually no, it was indeed the airport. The new stadiums roof had to fit under the FAA height guidelines. If you search for the site on google earth you’ll see it’s literally at the approach end of the LAX runways.

I’ve been wondering where the offense was that we saw in the first preseason game. In that game the Bills came out with quick snaps, up tempo, short passes, and moved the chains immediately. Ever since then the offense has slowed down considerably. Way more time at the line of scrimmage. Lots of checks or reads, and audibling, etc
I’m praying we look more like what we saw in the first half against Carolina.

Great video, thanks.
I wonder why they dug down so far rather than building up. Cost?
Yes, cost, it’s way less expensive to dig a hole In the dirt and simply pour concrete on it to form the lower seating risers than to build a structure. That’s assuming the soil conditions will allow it. (The new LA Stadium is doing the same thing but in that case it’s also to lower the overall height of the stadium in proximity to the approach path into LAX airport.)

Someplace there's a box where I had saved every photograph of the construction progress as they were printed in the Buffalo Evening News. Hard to believe they built the place for $20milion. You couldn't build the ticket booths for that today.

Is that dude who helmet speared the Bengals receiver late on the sideline still on the Bills? And if so...why?

Yes, a team that was consistently mediocre needed a rebuild.
I agree. And it’s way harder to rebuild from 8-8 than it is from botttoming out.

The sky isn’t falling?? Tell that to CNN...and they’re not even reporting on Sundays Bills game.

I don't disagree. The playoffs last year felt like a happy accident, which I am A-OK with. We needed to get the drought monkey off our backs in whatever way possible. I personally always felt it would end like it did, with a wild card round loss to some jackass AFC south team.
With the drought narrative gone, now it can be "how do we get back to postseason consistently?"
We're not assured long-term success yet, but it certainly does feel like the first boxes on the long list are getting checked off.
This! Well said. Last year gave them some breathing room. Now let’s fix this thing long term. A commitment to mediocrity is no way to run an NFL franchise. Being ‘in the hunt’ loses its luster when you never catch the rabbit!

Why is this in anyway complicated? You don’t get to keep every player in the league and after comparing them all, cast off those that don’t measure up! When a team knows they have players that don’t measure up they first have to get rid of them before they can bring in potential replacements. There are no guarantees that those replacements will be any better.

I’ve never played Offensive Line but the difference seems obvious. In run blocking you’re attacking, going forward, trying to move your man off a spot. (Like in wrestling.) When pass protecting you’re moving backwards trying to keep your man from moving you of your spot. (Like in wrestling.) They’re two completely different skills.

He'd better start trying if he isn't already because he might be benched for Gaines come September 9th.
And this is your responsibility coach? I didn't realize that the Bills staff was on this Message Board. I stand corrected. Carry on!

I may be proven wrong, but how a veteran cornerback looks in preseason is not something I'm all that worried about. There is really no telling how much a guy like Davis is trying in these glorified scrimmages.
-
Why do we need a deep threat when it appears that the starting QB is going to be a guy who can't even throw a deep out route? With that said...Coleman is here now. Might as well let him run up and down the field for a few weeks.

Welcome aboard! But saying you've been a Bills fan since birth is a bit ambiguous. My grandson is only one month today, and he wore his Bills Baby Beanie throughout the game yesterday. Poor little guy. Get out now and save yourself! There'll be plenty of time to jump back in when we have an Offensive and Defensive Line one day.

I've never been able to figure out why people are concerned with what OTHER people make in ANY business. If you don't want to feel you're contributing to OBJ's paycheck, don't go the games. Don't watch on TV. And don't pay your DirecTV bill. The NFL has a salary cap. Whatever they pay OBJ is just money that they can't pay another player. If anyone is upset it should be the other players in his Locker Room.

Jalen Ramsey: Gronk is overrated

Was he talking about his play as a TE or his role in that Tide commercial? I actually think the laundry soap gig was very convincing.
