im neither a Mayfield fan or critic. But I'm glad he learned a character lesson before he turned Pro.

You do realize that the people making decisions now are different than the people making decisions then, right? And that maybe they have different priorities? And maybe the comments about character pertain specifically to our current FO?
Wait a minute! You mean there are members of the Bills front office on this chat board? Cool! (Sarcasm) My point of course is that what most fans know about character is very very limited. I'm going to leave that to OBD.

Therefore, every QB with character issues = Hall of Fame when we draft them....
Um no. But the memory span of many of the younger crowd always makes me laugh.

I recall another Bills QB with some character issues coming out of the University of Miami.

Be careful there Bills fans! I'm old enough to remember watching Leroy Kelly in black and white when the Browns were good and their games were the closest broadcasts CBS would show in WNY every Sunday. There's now an entire generation who could say the same about watching another KELLY playing for the Bills when they once were a contender.

Interesting topic. The front page article in Southern California sports section this morning was about the nightmare of going to Cleveland for either Darnold (USC) or Rosen (UCLA). I skimmed it quickly just praying they wouldn't mention the Bills as a close second consolation prize!

Dennison and Tyrod need to go together. Every time I watch their Press Conferences I'm hard pressed to think of two guys with a greater LACK of urgency than those two. It's little wonder the Offense looks like it does.

There is ZERO doubt that you get a QB. If Tom Brady, or any other decent QB, had our roster of Offensive Skill Players they would be in the playoffs for sure!

? I just think Brady is just a freak of Nature. He was ALWAYS the hardest worker, always did the most film study and ALWAYS working improve his game.
Maybe. But he gets an extra Bye Week this Sunday.

Does anyone know what the issue was? I have to admit I was impressed with our young Coach on that one. He had to be feeling a ton of pressure after three straight beat downs and then he goes and disciplines last year's Top Pick in the middle of crucial Road win. Apparently Coach knows what he will, and will not, tolerate.

At first I thought "how in the world would that much of the Nation want to watch the Patriots walk all over the Bills"? But then I looked at the other games. I pity the Network that has the AFC this year.

You have to look at things week to week in the NFL. After the Bills get torched on Sunday they'll have been blown out in four of the last five and should the Ravens beat the Lions the last Wildcard spot is going to look like a Mount Everest climb. I think the air will be out of the balloon and playing for pride will give way to just getting the season over with. Sorry for pessimistic view. (So....I'm going to be watching the Ravens game very closely.)
Go Bills

I caught a little bit of the chatter on NFL Network and I have to say I was shocked that they didn't mention the Bills as a landing spot. Considering he'd have Clay, Benjamin, Mathews and a young Zay to throw to on a team that may finish just one game out of the playoffs Buffalo would seem a very logical choice. (And it's hard for me to believe that with list of receivers that TT can't find a way to do more with them down the stretch. I know Brady would love to have them!)

Thanks for stating the already stated. One thing I've learned over the many years of the drought is that the rest of the games NEVER play out the way they might appear on paper.
Of course, the other thing I've learned is that given the chance, the Bills will set themselves up only to lose to Miami in Week Seventeen.

The Bills primary color is royal blue, not red.

I say the same thing every year. You have to play the Patriot receivers, all of them, really tight at the line of scrimmage, and be physical with them. The Patriots run a timing offense with quick releases from Tommie Boy so that he doesn't get hit. And, with the exception of Gronk, the Patriots are not known for having big, physical WRs.
Unfortunately the 2017 Bills play mostly zone, in an effort to keep the ball in front of them. That, unfortunately, is a recipe for disaster against the Patriots! Death by a thousand cuts. This is going to be ugly.

Why is this season any different from any other one in recent memory? Just because some fans thought it was a tank year doesn't make it so....and just the same I don't see much more than the standard chance of a playoff appearance either. Looks to me like the same old story, just with a different Coach and Roster. On and on and on it goes!

The worst is most likely yet to come.

The only teams that are going to swap picks with the Bills so we can move up and get a QB are those teams below us that don't also need a QB. To my way of thinking that's got to be a pretty short list of teams.

Except i think it helps us because the chiefs picks are now going to be higher picks. I think they go into a tailspin now.
You're right but I'm pretty sure that didn't enter either teams thinking yesterday. Instead it felt like a preseason game setting up the inevitable beat down that awaits on Sunday.

I'm with the majority here. I can't recall a 'big' road win that I was LESS excited about. This felt like one of those meaningless week seventeen wins that only served to screw up the next year's draft.
-
If this was all due to regime changes then you'd expect a bunch of those draft picks to have made a name for themselves after leaving Buffalo....but not so much really. Either the scouting department stinks or the Bills ruined these guys careers before they could escape to other teams.
-
The problems with the defense are caused by way more than a single deficiency. No pass rush with no blitzing while sticks Nguyen with a sit back zone that has not gotten any tip balls leading to interceptions.
-
Or...they could just get a decent Quarterback!

What's all the love for Cousins? He's sitting at 5-7 this morning and out of the playoffs already...again. Is he really a huge upgrade over TT? I'm not so sure.
Draft a QB and an Offensive Lineman or two.
