The Bills are an ideal place for one of these potential Free Agent candidates to land....finally. This doesn't mean that they won't also draft a QB in 2018. They most certainly will! But, these veteran guys want to start, and they would love to inherent a Team that just made the Playoffs. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and suggest that there are some that would secretly like to be the guy that leads the Bills back to the Super Bowl. Instant and lasting fame! Now...which guys is the right guy? Who knows? Did anyone think Case Keenum would be battling Nick Foles in the NFC Championship Game next weekend? NO! But, I have a sneaky suspicion that both Case and Nick were thinking they might be when they signed at Minnesota and Philly.

Other than having a really cool name, can someone suggest what current NFL successful QB this kid would be compared to? Based on the pros and cons listed....Drew Brees?

People, I realize that is a Bills Chat Room but you all do realize that EVERYTHING in the world of sports does not revolve what happens to the Buffalo Bills....right? Heck, most of the current sports fans don't even remember the Music City Miracle, and more than half of them look it at as a play in which the Bills Special Teams simply screwed up! So, yes, I think that the Minnesota Miracle (if that's what they are calling it) is on par with the Music City Miracle. Both were plays that won a playoff game when everyone watching KNEW there was no shot!

All top 10 in point scored as well.
True, but I would say if you asked their fans, the personality of every team but the Patriots would be Defense first. And, you might even get a similar response from NE fans with Brady getting older, and a no-name group of WRs and RBs.

Also they have allowed 3 rushing td in last 13 games
There are a lot of team statistics that can be cherry picked by removing out-liar games from every team, but I definitely get your point. All four teams are indeed playing very good defense this year. (A bit of side note: we also saw that in the College National Championship Game with both Alabama and Georgia featuring really stout defenses.)
It all leads me to believe that the Bills are on the right track with Coach McD. Now, we need to see if we can get a half-way decent NFL Quarterback to go with Coach's natural inclination to build around a stout defense.

You can say it's all points, in the win/loss column, but there are other things that come into play there. My point is that the style of game the remaining teams play is generally to stuff the opponents even before they get close to the Red Zone. I'd imagine that will have some impact on the look and feel of the Championship Games. With that said, however, I found it interesting that the four teams were ALSO very highly ranked in Offensive Yards.
-
If you go strictly by Points Allowed then Four of the Top Five made it to the Championship games. Only the Chargers broke that mold.
And...if you look at the Top Ten in Points allowed you get: Minnesota, Jacksonville, LA Chargers, Philadelphia, New England, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans....with only the Charters, Ravens and Bears not making the Playoffs (and we all know what happened to the Ravens).
Interestingly, the four remaining teams were ALL in the Top Eleven in Total Offense as well. They came in at 1, 6, 7 and 11.
So, it appears that these four teams are ALL pretty well rounded.
-
New England was 29th in Yards Allowed.
-
Of the four Championship Game participants, three of them ranked one, two and four in Team Defense this year. Minnesota, Jacksonville and Philadelphia are all still in the hunt. Of the Top Four defenses, only Denver didn't make it through. And, of course, then there's New England, who ranked nowhere near the Top 10.

I bet you either the AFC or NFC wins the Superbowl.
Well that's just dumb....everyone knows the Patriots are going to win again....yawn! ?

The moral of the story is simple.....keep your head up when tackling!

Well there you go! I was right! Just this weekend I posted whether there was anyone in the college ranks that would be an OC candidate instead of all the NFL re-treads people were throwing out there.
I'm rarely right...so I just had to say it!
GO BILLS

Shaq Lawson? Nope doesn't ring a bell. Never heard of him!

Cool! We have another streak to route for.
Go Bills

I find it prophetic, hilarious and sad that the Bills First Round Pick falls exactly into the WORST percentage slot on this chart. Now THAT is Billsy!

Another 17 year drought? I’d be 55 by then and probably more interested in LL Bean catalogues and healthy bowel movements. No probs.
My bowel movements are just fine....but thanks for your future concern. Diet and Exercise!

Honest question....All of the guys I keep seeing listed appear to be from the closed circle of NFL re-treads. Is there someone from outside the circle (Major College) that might be a better choice?

Did Cordy go around kicking TBD member's dogs this year? Cut him some slack for Pete's sake, he is 6'6", 340, being that big and just walking is a lot of stress on your feet. And remember this - he has next to no trade value right now. If you are gonna trade him for anything of value, you need to wait until he is healthy and dominating again.
He should get some Dr Scholls inserts!

Look down the Bills roster after Benjamin, and you'll find that the cover is pretty much bare! There has to be one of these guys that would be a major improvement on what we're forecasted to have in 2018.

The reported value of veteran players on here cracks me up. According to most, Tyrod, who 'led' the Bills to the playoffs for the first time in two decades (and was recently elected to the Pro Bowl...I know, I know) is worth nothing on the open market....but Case Keenum who has pretty much done nothing his entire career, and very might go one and done this weekend is worth $20million per year? Really?
PS: I've been a perpetual a Tyrod critic.

Sure! In another seventeen years I'll almost certainly be living in a Home and drooling on myself.

Yeah I'm sure the experience of being in London during the Bills Jags game was pretty cool but that was probably being in London that was 95% of that. I have probably been to London about 6 X in my life and its an incredible experience. The Bills Jags game like a lot of the London games was a train wreck. These games maybe great to attend but the way the game plays out has a gimmicky exhibition game type feel. As a fan watching on TV for whatever team is playing I think the games have been crap. All the real games in an NFL season should be played on American soil...period!! As for where the Jags play I could care less, not sure why this was included in your post?
Excellent points all around. I mention the Jaguars because some on here seemed ticked off that any teams are playing in a different time zone. If the early start time bothers people that much they need to invest in a DVR. Living on the west coast I've watched very few, if any London games, and have not missed a thing....but then again there are about 12 to 14 games each weekend, played on American soil, that I also don't watch.
Cheerio!

What the?
Tom Brady is the best player I have seen, at his position, in any professional sport. I'm not convinced that Drew Brees is even considered to be in the Top Five all time Quarterbacks.
I would throw Gretzky in there with Brady.

I am not suggesting this, but Buffalo News' list of potential OC candidates included:
Ben McAdoo
I'd rather have Dennison.
McAdoo? The ex-Buffalo Brave? I loved that guy!
Bradford will be the Available Viking QB

Bills fans need to come to grips with the fact that there is a finite set of veteran QBs in the NFL "universe". The list of available guys isn't going to increase. It's only going to decrease in the next few weeks. The Bills will be left will two choices. Either stick with Tyrod or get one of the few remaining veterans. There is ZERO chance that the Bills are turning the reigns over to a late round rookie and Peterman. Coach McD is never going to let that happen to his freshly minted playoff team.
