Fabulous! Another Bills top draft pick slips into the abyss of franchise trivia oblivion.

Cam Newton not so much, he was the D Coordinator in Carolina- just sayin. In all seriousness, I dont think any of us know what his QB is. Time will tell for sure.
Exactly my point. McD is a defensive coach. How would anyone know what type of QB he favors?
-
His most recent QBs were Tyrod Taylor and Cam Newton....just saying.

As a USC alum, I can tell you that Darnold was nothing short of horrible this past season. He is far from a sure thing.

The Bills 'blew' an opportunity for a top QB pick when they ended the drought. I'm OK with that. As so many threads have already proven the reliability of draft picks is really suspect. Use your bounty of picks to fill up the roster with good solid players. Pick up a veteran to lead them (it'll be better that TT) and take a QB when you feel there's value either in the late first or second.

I yearn for the days when actors just read lines, news reporters read the news, and sportscasters announced the game! Somehow now, if you have a microphone in front of your pie hole these folks think we care what their opinion is. We don't!

Jim is a tale of two cities. Pre Hunter and Once Hunter was born changed the guy big time. I have family who knew him before and after are remarked how he was an arrogant prick who went after any women, but after Hunter he shaped up and matured big time to become a good man. Good for him IMO we all have our warts in the past.
The entire story is laid out in the ESPN 30 for 30 episode. Really amazing transformation.

The players aren't 'screwed'. They know how they're chosen field works from the time they're in elementary school!! People who join the Navy are pretty aware there's going be WATER! People who go to medical school pretty much know there's bound to be SICK PEOPLE!

Sounds like the League is saying that they're conducting their investigation.....INCOGNITO!

No way, that call at the end of the half was terrible. The Jags defender played great defense and forced Cooks to the boundary. The defender has every right to his position. The red should no the difference between getting in a receivers way when he tries to come back for the ball, which this wasn’t the case as the ball went over their heads and good defense that just forces the receiver to a point on the field where he doesn’t have room to maneuver. That was a gift.
Exactly correct! The defender is allowed to use the sideline as an extra defender. Terrible call!

I would take a long hard look at recent Carolina drafts, that may give a clue where the Bill's start leaning. If I had to guess DT is going to be the highest priority.
I think you're on to something there. Hadn't thought about it before. Of course wasn't Cam already in place before our current regime had a say in it? QB will be the turning point.
-
I'm not sure about your comparison... but the freshman from Hawaii reminded me an awful lot of Russell Wilson.
-
Whenever I look at a mock draft I of course go to the Bills picks first...but then I immediately look at the players the author shows being selected right AFTER the Bills pick. In this case I'm not convinced the Bills are taking a CB with some of the offensive linemen and WRs still available right after them. (It's also interesting to see the players shown right BEFORE the Bills pick. It gives you an idea of some others who 'might' be there at 21.) I couldn't care less who's being taken in the Top 10! The Bills are NOT moving up.
-
I'm starting to think that everyone's lost their minds! Alex Smith is light years better then Tyrod Taylor. Smith may not be your dream 'franchise' guy but he's an NFL Quarterback....for sure. When people trash suggestions on here, I would love to explain what they're alternative plan is. Doing nothing is not at option. The Bills are NOT getting one of the top rookies in this class. They are NOT! And the Bills are NOT trading the franchise for Kirk Cousins. They are NOT! So, unless you want to groan through another season of TT style non-quarterback play, you better be ready for a disaster in 2018....cuz here it comes.

He'll probably go to new england...
I'm guessing the NFL loosens up the rules and allows Bell to go NE the week before the Super Bowl. Sounds about right!

I'm rapidly coming around to Alex Smith. Everyone knows that the long term plan is to have a Highly Drafted Rookie take over the reigns....sooner than later. I cannot see Cousins being comfortable with that, but Alex Smith might be at this point in his career. He was given his shot in SF and KC and did well but fell short. A stint with the Bills would probably be considered as 'gravy' for him.
If not, then everyone will have to get used to Tyrod being that bridge. I cannot see some of these other guys being any better than TT has been for this team (and I am NOT a Tyrod fan). For example, watching someone like Bradford or Bridgewater go down to injury is going to be really painful for the WNY fan base and harken back to other, highly anticipated Free Agents who've been brought in only to hardly play a down in a Bills uniform.

Rakeem Cato? Is'nt he the guy who lived in OJ's guest house? Cool!

4 QB in the first round is relatively unusual. It happened in 2012, 2011, 2004, and 2003. Only 2011 saw all 4 off the board before pick 21 (Newton, Locker, Gabbert, and Ponder)
5 QB in the first round happened once in the last 20 years - 1999 - and when I tell you the QB chosen were Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Dante Culpepper, and Cade McNown (all in the top 12 picks),
Yikes! That is a terrible track record! Only three of those nines (Cam, Dante and Donovan) ever did anything in the NFL.

Please send this Thread to Mr. Beane's office. I'm guessing he's unaware of the pressure that goes along with being in charge of an NFL Front Office. (sarcasm)

I find it fascinating that the graphic shows the Steelers, Vikings, Jaguars, and Bills...all playoff teams, and the Chargers, who we all know could have been in the playoffs. Then, toss in the Browns and Jets who have both drafted multiple quarterbacks in recent memory...and you have a mess!
-
You can analyze this issue to death! Tom Brady is not going to be available to the Bills in 2018!
They can:
1. Stick with Tyrod
2. Go all in on a Rookie
3. Pick up one of the 'flawed' veterans (all of whom are very similar in terms of pros and cons)
-
So if I understand him correctly.....he doesn't like the Eagles?

i would guess the Pats have some of the staff working on past history to implement the overall game plan.
The concept of tongue in cheek sarcasm is not totally foreign to you.... correct?

The Patriots don't care about studying past history. They are way too busy making history.
