  1. The Bills 'blew' an opportunity for a top QB pick when they ended the drought. I'm OK with that. As so many threads have already proven the reliability of draft picks is really suspect. Use your bounty of picks to fill up the roster with good solid players. Pick up a veteran to lead them (it'll be better that TT) and take a QB when you feel there's value either in the late first or second.

Jim is a tale of two cities. Pre Hunter and Once Hunter was born changed the guy big time. I have family who knew him before and after are remarked how he was an arrogant prick who went after any women, but after Hunter he shaped up and matured big time to become a good man. Good for him IMO we all have our warts in the past.

The entire story is laid out in the ESPN 30 for 30 episode. Really amazing transformation.

No way, that call at the end of the half was terrible. The Jags defender played great defense and forced Cooks to the boundary. The defender has every right to his position. The red should no the difference between getting in a receivers way when he tries to come back for the ball, which this wasn’t  the case as the ball went over their heads and good defense that just forces the receiver to a point on the field where he doesn’t have room to maneuver. That was a gift.

Exactly correct! The defender is allowed to use the sideline as an extra defender. Terrible call!

I would take a long hard look at recent Carolina drafts, that may give a clue where the Bill's start leaning. If I had to guess DT is going to be  the highest priority.

I think you're on to something there. Hadn't thought about it before. Of course wasn't Cam already in place before our current regime had a say in it? QB will be the turning point.

  5. Whenever I look at a mock draft I of course go to the Bills picks first...but then I immediately look at the players the author shows being selected right AFTER the Bills pick. In this case I'm not convinced the Bills are taking a CB with some of the offensive linemen and WRs still available right after them. (It's also interesting to see the players shown right BEFORE the Bills pick. It gives you an idea of some others who 'might' be there at 21.) I couldn't care less who's being taken in the Top 10! The Bills are NOT moving up.

  6. I'm starting to think that everyone's lost their minds!  Alex Smith is light years better then Tyrod Taylor. Smith may not be your dream 'franchise' guy but he's an NFL Quarterback....for sure.  When people trash suggestions on here, I would love to explain what they're alternative plan is. Doing nothing is not at option. The Bills are NOT getting one of the top rookies in this class.  They are NOT! And the Bills are NOT trading the franchise for Kirk Cousins.  They are NOT!  So, unless you want to groan through another season of TT style non-quarterback play, you better be ready for a disaster in 2018....cuz here it comes.

  7. I'm rapidly coming around to Alex Smith.  Everyone knows that the long term plan is to have a Highly Drafted Rookie take over the reigns....sooner than later.  I cannot see Cousins being comfortable with that, but Alex Smith might be at this point in his career. He was given his shot in SF and KC and did well but fell short.  A stint with the Bills would probably be considered as 'gravy' for him.

If not, then everyone will have to get used to Tyrod being that bridge.  I cannot see some of these other guys being any better than TT has been for this team (and I am NOT a Tyrod fan).  For example, watching someone like Bradford or Bridgewater go down to injury is going to be really painful for the WNY fan base and harken back to other, highly anticipated Free Agents who've been brought in only to hardly play a down in a Bills uniform.

4 QB in the first round is relatively unusual.  It happened in 2012, 2011, 2004, and 2003.  Only 2011 saw all 4 off the board before pick 21 (Newton, Locker, Gabbert, and Ponder)

5 QB in the first round happened once in the last 20 years - 1999 - and when I tell you the QB chosen were Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Dante Culpepper, and Cade McNown (all in the top 12 picks),

Yikes!  That is a terrible track record! Only three of those nines (Cam, Dante and Donovan) ever did anything in the NFL.
