  1. And flat tax simplifies the tax code….no? Nobody is in favor of a flat tax that also retains the labyrinth of deductions etc. Nobody!
  2. You're aware that it's all of those deductions and credits that make the tax code complex.....right? (Asking for a friend.)
  3. Always has been and still is one of the cheapest looking uniforms in professional sports. A local Rec League team can, and does, do better.
  4. One of mine as well. If I recall it was only the second time the Bills had played on MNF and the Opener to boot. Not exactly sure why but the stadium atmosphere was nothing short of amazing that night. Great choice!
  5. As I’ve mentioned many times in the past, I was an Owner of a pretty significant sized corporation. At the end of our fiscal year we had very few options of what we could do with profits. One, we could pay taxes on them and retain any remaining funds to save for use, if needed, in the following year. Two, we could reduce the corporate tax burden by distributing those profits to our owners and employees…who would then pay regular income tax on the amount they received. There is no option where taxes are not paid! Thinking that corporations are somehow getting away with something is utter nonsense. I don’t offer this as some sort of political talking point. It’s just that most people don’t own a corporation so they have virtually no personal experience on this topic other than what they’re being told by talking heads who should (and most definitely do) know better.
  6. Oh stop. They are no different than you and I and everyone else They pay the taxes dictated by the tax code.
  7. Whereas you attempt to pay as much tax as possible each year?
  8. Could’ve been the first name hoisted on the new stadium’s Ring of Honor, and now…..not!
  9. Is that true? Are you sure? I know it didn’t work that way when I traveled for business.
  10. I’m not the slightest bit opposed to what you’re doing but it is NOTHING like selling your primary residence.
  11. So wouldn’t the more accurate analogy be subletting out your vacation home when you’re not there?
  12. You were ‘stuck’ using a product that you chose to buy? I did the same with a toothbrush once. Darn thing kept losing bristles!
  13. Did he buy ‘his’ house just to sell it? He never lived in it?
  14. Youngster! But the sentiment rings true. 👍
  15. No Reggie McKenzie?
  16. That’s cool! So apparently an AFL franchise was $25,000 back at the outset. Not too shabby. Now….you can rent a single seat in the new stadium for that.
  17. So we’re passing on Zach Ertz…..again? Sheeesh!
  18. There’s definitely a large contractor office complex somewhere out there. It’s generally assembled from a bunch of modular units. A project of this size would have a full time office staff approaching 20 people.
  19. Very cool! Thanks for posting. Something to note from the current progress is that virtually everything you see as ‘white’ floor surface will be indoor concourse and fan services area. It’s a far cry from the woeful concourse areas at Rich Stadium. It gives you a great idea about just how large the new stadium is, and why it costs so much to build. (And regarding the ‘out building’ it’s clearly not the Contractor’s office, or it’d be surrounded by parking and wouldn’t be still under construction.)
  20. So you’re saying we have a chance? Sweet! BTW…reaching back to compare the team to one that made the playoffs on a literal miracle is a bit nutty….but it’s July so there’s not much happening.
  21. They tweak golfers swing mechanics….baseball hitters stance and swing….quarterbacks throwing motion…etc. If the Bills crack coaching staff can’t correct the routine slice that Bass has developed then they need a new coaching staff AND a new kicker.
  22. If you look at the cross section model the ONLY seats covered by the balcony above are those at the very top of the lower bowl (red) and those rows at the very top of the upper deck (blue). There are however suites that are covered by seating above them and there are of course plenty of rows under the roof cover.
  23. At a dime a dozen wouldn’t that mean we have SIXTY receivers on the roster. That's crazy!
  24. I’ve told this story before. I sat next to Don Shula waiting for a flight connection in Atlanta a few years back. He’d long since retired. We talked for about 20 minutes after I thanked him for the memories and explained I was a Bills fan. What shocked me was that his memory of the rivalry was NOT the long streak in the 70s but the fact that he couldn’t beat the Bills in the 90s. Just goes to show you remember the losses more than the wins. He was extremely gracious with his time.
