Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
SoCal Deek replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ll say it again….this all sounds more and more like a timeshare sales presentation than anything else….which isn’t a good thing! I’ve been Mr Optimistic through all of my posts on the new stadium, but I’m rapidly changing my mind. -

I did the same thing with a timeshare. Be prepared for the sales pitch and be prepared to walk out. -
I’m not the least bit surprised. As offenses focus more and more on the passing game it only stands to reason that safeties, who’ve become more one dimensional focusing less and less on run stuffing, would be de-valued.

Clarification: In England, teams are relegated because they finish in the bottom three in their league. Likewise teams move up a league if they finish in the Top 3 of the league below. It’s not because of money. With only one true professional football league in America that can’t happen. The closest thing we have here is baseball which has multiple tiers of professional leagues.

DT Foley Fatukasi Meeting with Bills Today-Signed by Texans

Isn’t that the stuff people sprinkle on their poke’ while sitting on Waikiki Beach? I love that stuff! -
We have to get cheaper. And the easiest way to do that is by getting younger.

Sad? Shocked? Nope! On the contrary, I’d have been mystified if Beane found a way to keep them all. This was all in a word…. inevitable.

Bills 2024 Roster Breakdown (Current status)
SoCal Deek replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
You know how big a fan I am of your thread and roster list. I wish more people on here would take the time to review it, instead of going crazy over each individual move. You were spot on! It’s as if you have a peep hole into OBD. Very well done! So I guess all that’s left now is to see what happens with Gilliam, Hamlin, and Martin? -

I agree. There seems like a significantly disproportionate emphasis on marketing going on here. -

Okay, having watched the video I’m still confused as to what the Bills are trying to do here. They seem desperate to NOT show their fans the new stadium. I’m a huge fan of physical models, like the one they feature in the video, but there again….show us the damn model!!! Don’t just show us people’s faces as they react to seeing the model. Geez! I can tell you this; the high production promotional video and the detailed physical model cost them way, way, way more to make than a computer generated fly around/through video. The skeptic in me is beginning to think that some of the fans on here may be right. You’re about to get colossally soaked on ticket prices! -
How old is Kelce relative to Morse?

Are the A’s building an opera house? Who knew? 🤷🏼♂️ -
It’s not true that anyone can do it. It takes a unique skill set of someone who’s reasonably skilled with people, and extremely skilled with money and budgeting.
-
The job itself isn’t all that difficult. The challenge is that your performance will be judged based on a bunch of variables that really aren’t under your direct control.

That's an interesting comment. For over a decade people would critique the Patriots strategy of moving down and stockpiling picks. They had their Franchise QB in place. But I have to admit that I never followed it close enough to know if Billy B stuck with those picks on Draft Day, or used them as trade bait to move up. Does anyone know?
-
These are the folks who would scream if the trade was reversed and we gave up a 5th round pick for somebody else’s backup center. 😂
-
Correct….and….Liking what you do also involves liking where you choose to do it.
-
And you would make what move instead? There’s a great thread that shows the overall roster laid out with the players all listed in groups (starters, reserves, under contract, etc). Go take a look at that one. As both you and I have said, Beane has tied his own hands. There will be two overarching themes to Off Season 2024: (1) a lot of turnover of non-starters and (2) some creative wizardry of contract negotiations with the starters that remain.
-
That’s true but he doesn’t count against the Cap. So far I see very little drama or controversy here. It’s inevitable!

Sounds to me like many of you need to find a new line of work. 😉 As I always say: “find something you like to do and you’ll never work a day in your life”.
