I mentioned this the other day. You are aware that fans aren’t in a union, right? This isn’t collective bargaining! While I appreciate your frustration, there’s no way to organize such a boycott.

What? The team has had a grand total of TWO owners in 65 years and the first Owner is dead! It’s hardly been a revolving door.

And….sometimes you found out that your totally unheated seat was directly behind a big steel post.

Heated seats? We used to sit in the cold and the wet at the Rockpile while praying our car would still be where we left it before the game! Ahhhh, the memories.

Are the actual seats heated? Or is this radiant heat being ‘cast’ down on them? If it’s the latter then it makes no difference if you’re standing. If it’s the former then I’ll bet money they’ll all be broken in three years…tops.

Both can be true. I don’t think the point of the thread is to say that teams might as well use a blindfold when throwing darts at the draft board. Every team has a scouting department. Every team spends months looking at film. Every team attends the Combine. Every team interviews players. But…once you’ve done all of that it’s still far from a sure thing. I’ve always held that one of the biggest reasons is that these kids are still very young and for most they’re going through a major life change. It’s their first job. It’s almost surely far away from home. It’s their first time making real money. That’s a lot to adjust to for ANY young person, not just football players.

I’m aware, and as I said it’s often misunderstood.

In short, the ONLY draft pick that truly matters is for those teams looking for a starting quarterback. No other position even comes close. Thank goodness that isn’t us for a while….finally. So, stay in your draft slot and only move up or back a slot or two if you pretty much know a player you sort of like will or won’t be there because of what you know the teams directly in front of or behind you are going to do.

I’ve often thought this was gravely misunderstood. You’re not supposed to take/use the Lord’s name in vain. It doesn’t say that you cannot say his name. So you are not supposed to use the Lord to swear/promise/threaten anyone, as if you have some authority over what God does or doesn’t do. Nor are you to tempt the Lord to do anything. It’s perfectly fine however to say his name in worship and adoration.

Thanks for the link! They’re definitely moving right along with the structural steel frame. It’s way more complicated than the old Rich Stadium which as we all know has a lower bowl of pretty much nothing more than concrete steps poured directly on the earthen berm.

How is Patrick Mahomes “influential”? He’s a great quarterback for sure but if he was so influential then why did the NFL spend every waking moment focusing on Taylor Swift when the most influential person was actually down on the field?

I just heard this on the radio the other day (there are a bunch of similar common misstatements) …and I’m not desperate to be the grammar police….but….the correct phrase is “for all intents and purposes”….not intensive purposes. 😉
