  1. I’m obviously not aware of any death threats nor would I ever suggest that that’s acceptable. I do however stand by my earlier post. If you want to donate to a cause, please do so. I donate to many. But it’s always because of my passion for what the charity actually does. It’s never been because of my fondness, or in some second hand support for a spokesperson. Bass is, or should be, a professional. He didn’t do his job. He most definitely doesn’t deserve to lose his life or self respect but he does deserve to lose his job.
  2. Can I ask a HUGE but simple favor? (I do it every year!) Is it really that hard for all of our draft board gurus to list the player, his height, weight, position, year, and especially his school at the beginning of your thread? Or when suggesting an alternative selection?
  3. Bass is neither ill nor injured. He simply blew it horribly when called upon. I have absolutely no idea what this ‘help him feel better’ stuff is about. This isn’t your kid’s little league game. It’s professional and everyone is highly compensated. Donate to the cause if you’d like…or not. But because Bass didn’t do his job? I think not.
  4. Having watched how the game unfolded for the first 58 minutes and having game planned for that exact thing, a smart coaching staff takes every second off the clock, and uses all four downs to keep the damn ball away from the Chiefs offense. The deep throw to Shakir was beyond dumb. I’d even opine that the field goal try was pretty questionable. They should’ve used both third and fourth down to methodically consume clock and SMALL chunks of yards. Choke City……again!
  5. I refuse to believe that catching a football is brain surgery. Just draft a guy with the physical tools and have Josh throw him the football! I couldn’t care less whether anyone considers him a #1 or #2.
  6. Correction: apparently you CAN lose back to back divisional games at home, because we just did.
  7. Seems like Stafford and Elway are very similar….no?
  8. Can somebody show me the list of professional GMs who’ve said “we have no intention of competing for a championship next season”? It can’t be a long list.
  9. Poor bastard! The Chargers are cursed worse than the Bills and they don’t even have a stadium built on a cemetery….although there’s a huge one right across the street from SoFi.
  10. Those shirtless pictures of a recently retired Center, whose name shall not be mentioned, would cause every professional to stay another year.
  11. Does he get paid more if he actually catches the football? (Asking for a friend.)
  12. I guess everything’s relative, but in general once you’re among the teams paying a franchise QB, DE, TE, and WR the cap puzzle gets much more complicated than for teams that don’t have similar salaries on their books. By definition, It’s a money driven competition for free agents.
  13. Thanks for putting this together. I don’t think the opposing threads are at odds with your well outlined assessment. I believe what others are pointing out is that the Bills have painted themselves into a contract loaded corner. They have little financial wiggle room to build upon the core roster you laid out. A successful 2024 Draft is going to be crucial not only for next season but for the long term future.
  14. If you read any of the Cap threads you’ll find that the Bills hands are pretty much tied next season. They shot for the moon with some loaded salaries and the bill is coming due. Time to take your proverbial lumps. So, to answer the OPs question: you stockpile cheap draft picks and pray that more than a few pan out. Oh yes, that’s true in ALL facets of the roster…..including Special Teams!
  15. That's why I'm left to wonder if it wouldn't have been a stroke of coaching genius to put Elam on Kelce. I cannot believe that KC would've been anticipating that.
  16. I'm pretty sure you're right, seeing as how the Bills will be forced into taking the fourth or fifth WR off the board by the time they pick. So, who are the top one or two College safeties in the Draft?
  17. Or how about our supposed #1 WR superstar doesn't let a long bomb go right through his uncontested hands? How about we change just that one thing?
  18. You can forget about moving on from Beane's high-priced, horrible contracts, so assuming we're stuck with Knox, Bass, Diggs, Tre, Von and others, I'm going with WR and Safety as by far our two biggest needs. I'll leave it to others who know more about the incoming class of rookies.
  19. Anyone else wonder what would have happened had the Bills put Elam singled on Kelce all night, just like a spy on the QB?. We've been told Elam is best in man-to-man coverage.
  20. Terrible strategy by the Bills and Allen. You take the underneath throw, all day, every day.
  21. The Bills drafts are just like everyone else’s. The difference is that Beane and McMoron aren’t willing to trust their own selections. What we saw this year is that many of these young guys are quite capable of stepping in. But our coach and GM run the team like some sort of an alumni organization in which you get credit for years of service. Pathetic!
  22. 2024 should’ve taught Beane and McD a valuable lesson, but I doubt it did. What we all saw is that other than QB, and possibly OL, it’s an utter waste of money to throw finite cap resources anywhere else on the roster. On the bright side it appears the Bills ‘could’ learn the lesson that guys like Bernard, Cook, Kincaid, Shakir, Benford and a few others are the future of this team. Take your lumps and live through the remainder of some really bad contracts and don’t make the same mistake with the next crop when their time is up.
