Is there any defensive player you'd be happy with at pick 27?
SoCal Deek replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or maybe instead of going fishing for players to replace the NFL caliber players we already have, maybe, just maybe, we could coach up our current players to perform better on a consistent basis. (Just a thought.) I am not convinced that Gabe Davis has to be thrown in the dumpster. We have all seen him perform from time to time. His problem is not athleticism …it’s consistency! -
Drafting Has Been A Problem For Decades
SoCal Deek replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here’s my simple take: The Bills have an oddly constructed roster for such a highly respected team. On offense they rely almost solely on Allen both passing and running, and have gotten merely average production from any of their skill position draft picks (Singletary, Knox, Davis). On defense, it’s similar but there they rely on a soft scheme that dares the opponent to go the length of the field without making a mistake (which doesn’t work against better skilled playoff QBs), but again with the possible exception of Milano and Tre here they’ve gotten merely slightly above average production from many their skill position draft picks (Edmunds, Oliver, Epenesa). -
Asking for friend…..Since when do we put OT in front of every thread? Isn’t there a part of this forum that’s dedicated to discussions that Off Topic?

Here’s what I don’t understand. I can see not liking the way TC presented the videos, but were they selectively edited? For example, are there other parts of the tapes in which the Shamon dude was acting violently while inside the Capitol? Did he attack police officers? Did he vandalize the building? And…are there other parts of the video that show Officer Sicknick stumbling around or in other sorts of physical duress? If we had a functioning Justice system (instead of a politically motivated police state) none of this would be an issue.

Should we trade Ed Oliver?
SoCal Deek replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Time to move on from Ed, unfortunately. He’s severely underperformed from his draft status. -
Thanks. I see these over arching labels thrown around a bit too much these days. I much prefer addressing things issue by issue. For example, on most, if not all, fiscal policies I’m extremely conservative (just as I am with my personal finances) whereas on most ‘social’ issues I’m very liberal…with the caveat that this is only in reference to adults; not children.

I’m not so sure I agree. It’s all in just how you measure it I guess. Sure, we haven’t seen a third World War, but instead we have these proxy wars being fought in second and third world countries all over the planet. Seems to me that the people in charge have just decided it’s better to hash things out in countries that no one has ever heard of or had plans to visit on summer vacation. 😉

Drafting Has Been A Problem For Decades
SoCal Deek replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agreed with your take, but you left out the player development/coaching staff AFTER these guys are drafted. -
Just kidding, as usual, Hawk. (This place needs a serious dose of levity.) But I do marvel at how the current administration brushed away this entire conflict just a year ago…and we somehow went from overlooking a ‘small incursion’ to ‘as long as it takes’ (their words not mine) in that same span. There simply has to be a better way to run a civilized world. To quote George Costanza: “We’re trying to have a society here!”

Drafting Has Been A Problem For Decades
SoCal Deek replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here it is a nutshell, and in this order: 1. Without Allen, the Bills are not a playoff team. 2. Without Brady leaving NE, the Bills are not winning the Division. 3. Without McD and McB, the Bills are a perennial sub-500 record. -
Not even close Hawk. It is NEVER appropriate for a member of congress to take the floor of the House or Senate and ‘appeal’ that a news organization should fire or silence a reporter. Never! If Chuck or Mitch want to say they disagree with or verbally dismiss the narrative…fine. But that’s not what Chuck did. Unbelievable that you don’t see how dangerous this is.

I’ve tried to stay out of this discussion because I knew where it would go….as usual. But looking at it from the proverbial 35,000 feet, doesn’t anyone find it odd it that sitting members of Congress would feel this threatened by a single cable television program expressing an opinion, telling a narrative, and showing actual, unaltered video footage of an actual news event? When did America “evolve” into a country where the government controlled the way the press/media/people are allowed to see and discuss a news story? EVERYONE should be REALLY frightened by this unfortunate turn of events. It does not bode well for the future of a formerly free country.

Per Shefty - Bills “expected to lose” Poyer and Edmunds
SoCal Deek replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall
Edmunds? Nope…doesn’t ring a bell. Let me google him.
