  1. Wasn’t sure whether to put this in the stadium construction thread or here but since it’s about financing I chose this thread. Jacksinville’s upgrade/makeover is budgeted at $1.2 million and is a 50/50 split between the Jaguars and the City…. not the State of Florida. They also report the public funding piece to be investment, not a cost, (typical) as the newly envisioned stadium is forecasted to bring in billions over the course of the 30 year lease. So there’s that.
  2. What do you expect them to say? “We blew it! Knox is way over paid”? 😂😂
  3. It’s definitely a challenge and I’m guessing next year will be less of one, but as I mentioned earlier, if they’re gonna pay him big money then the OC better use him that way. It makes little to no sense as a safety valve or protection blanket.
  4. Maybe. I’ve always figured that where there’s a checkbook, there’s a way.
  5. So you’re saying they’re gonna have to cut someone when I show up at Camp? Okay…. I’ll sit this one out….again.
  6. Well….he’s contributing better than Boogie. 😂
  7. This isn’t going to be a popular post but I think the Bills have been a bit all over the place with their offensive philosophy. For years they got beat down when Tom Brady had two TEs. Answer….go get two TEs. But now that philosophy seems to be a distraction in their offense and some challenges in pas protection have forced Knox to stay home and help. Add to that the revolving door at Offensive Coordinator and now we have a highly paid TE as the very title of this thread. I don’t have an answer but I’m guessing time and stability at OC will naturally sort it all out.
  8. One of my all time favorite movie lines is when Brad Pitt explains to David Justice that the NY Yankees are paying him millions of dollars to play against them. 😂😂😂
  9. I hope you’re right. I’m really not anti-Knox. But in a salary cap driven league I find it hard to believe he’s not seen as a luxury the Bills can’t afford. And for Knox himself, I can’t imagine he’s not thinking he’d get more opportunities befitting his skillset elsewhere.
  10. But you have to agree it’s pretty unusual for your ‘highest paid skill position player’ to be a blocking TE…..no?
  11. And his Team management thought so highly of him that they drafted his replacement with a First Round pick and just asked him to take a pay cut.
  12. All of that might be true but it seems like he’s become a complete afterthought. And just because he’s restructured doesn’t mean that there aren’t other teams that’ll pay for his services.
  13. The WR room is filling up fast. I find it hard to believe the Bills intend to stick with Knox as a pure blocking TE. They’ve gotta be trying to move him.
  14. $3,000,000 per game. Not too shabby! 😳
  15. My problem is that it really waters down the product. I’m a lifelong football fanatic but even I don’t want to watch it every day of the week. It’s way too much.
  16. That may be part of it but it seems like there are a few people on here that have already been to their sales appointment and I’ve yet to hear anyone say “you guys just have to see all the new renderings”!
  17. Good questions, and I wish had answers for you. At this point in the construction process there is VERY LITTLE that’s yet to be nailed down. The Floor Plans aren’t changing now. I can’t imagine Bills fans would be upset if the color of the restroom tile didn’t end up exactly like the renderings. (And the same is true with ALL preliminarily renderings no matter what the project is.)
  18. Josh doesn’t have the appropriate footwear for a construction site. Hard to believe the site’s Safety Officer wasn’t all over him.
  19. No, they put a tarp over the entire thing while they’re in London. 😉
  20. Lots of renderings posted today of the new Jacksonville Jaguars stadium. Apparently they’re doing a major announcement on funding etc. I don’t need to tell everyone that there’s WAY MORE renderings of the Jaguars new home than the Bills have shared to date….and we’re already well into construction. 😂
  21. Isn’t it actually considered a slice, as opposed to a hook?
  22. The group that deserves to be pissed off is the NBA which has traditionally had a monopoly on Christmas Day. Can the NFL move into their turf? Sure they can. Should they? I don’t think so. The NFL is flirting with becoming the 10,000 pound gorilla in the room of an already crowded annual sports calendar. What’s next….bumping college football from New Years Day? Enough already!
