New stadium cost goes up from $1.4 billion to $1.54 billion.

Why is it that some on here keep going around and around on this? Every time you buy something at Home Depot, Target, McDonalds, or on Amazon you’re putting ‘gas in the yachts’. I’m not sure why people think the Buffalo Bills are a community center. -

And where does the fans money come from? You’re playing a circular logic game. You wanna really blow your mind? Close to $1 billion of the stadium costs is spent on the labor to construct it. So unless the construction workers are being bussed in from out of state, then vast majority of the state’s, county’s and the owner’s money goes right back into the local community who then uses it to by cars, refrigerators, groceries, and….football tickets. -
Cover 1 Just put out a new Mock Draft, Edge round 1.

A Clemson kid right up front….calling Rex Ryan! -
As my mother always said: If one’s available…take the hooker every time.

Hey! It was way easier to sweep the snow off of those aluminum bleachers. But I guess the new roof will make that a problem of the past. 😉

It should, but remember one of the ways that the Rose Bowl and Rich Stadium (among other older venues) got such a high total capacity was by installing simple bench seating and very long rows. When you change it all to individual seats with arm rests and shorter rows you lose a significant number of seats.

Here’s how it typically works. Just prior to groundbreaking the Contractor is required to submit their final GMP (guaranteed maximum price) based on the nearly permitted architecture/engineering drawings. That GMP normally includes a contingency factor for limited changes and unforeseen conditions. It is not subject to market prices however. Those prices are a risk the Contractor assumes at the start of construction barring something like a war, or other world event. -
My bigger concern is when they have too many levels of suites between the upper and lower decks. It tends to make those in the upper deck feel very detached from those sitting below, and of course from the field. I’m less concerned about the steeper upper deck (it won’t be like the orange section in the old Aud). As I said, if you attend anything at the Rose Bowl you’re more or less forced to stand the entire time because the bowl is super shallow…but it was obviously built in a much different era.
-
Almost by default when you build the stadium completely out of the ground, it’s going to be steeper than one in the ground like Rich Stadium. If anyone’s been to the Rose Bowl, also built into the ground it’s amazingly shallow. So much so that it’s deceiving how it can seat 100,000 people. But, I can assure you that the designers are taking sight lines into account. 👍

So you’re not paying a fee on top of the ‘face value’ of the ticket?

Good perspective on how good we were last year

Weren’t there THREE wisemen? -
There’s gotta be a third Darnell somewhere on the board. 😉

Youngster! We didn’t know that the Wizard of Oz turned to color in Munchkin Land until we finally got a color TV in 1970. 😂

You are aware it doesn’t change the price you pay, right? It just moves a really good hunk of the payment up front. It’s similar to income tax. You pay the same amount at the bottom of the form whether you get a refund or write a check on April 15th. The only difference is whether the government held your money for you throughout the year. 😉

No, I’m not assuming anything. There are some days however when you might want to stop and take a pause though.

Welcome to the future. If you read the article in the Buffalo News you’ll see this is the new normal in all of those cities with those new stadiums that everyone admires so much. I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t pay it if I still lived in WNY but it’s not all that different from the ‘$ due at signing’ fine print on that new car lease. Sure, your monthly payment is lower but you pay thousands up front to reduce it and in the end you don’t own the car.

Any chance you guys are going to calm down the vitriol on Good Friday?

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

Who exactly are the Bills drafting at #3? I’m guessing the only way this could make sense is if they then use that pick to get their #1 pick back in 2024? -
Virgil, this is fantastic to watch! Well done everyone. It’s a bit of a challenge to read through all the chatter to find the picks but in general, you guys are amazing! 👍
-
That’s ridiculous! How much of the new stadium are you going to be able to see from Williamsville! There have to be at least ten thousand trees in the way. 😉

Have a great day. Enjoy your perspective.

No deflection here. I just have not had the same experience as you. I come from a background and environment where people get along. It has shaped my world view. Yours clearly has been different…and for that I’m sad. But I can assure you that the deplorables are extremely few and far between on BOTH sides of the spectrum.

Try and stay positive Hawk. 👍

Interesting story Hawk. And because of that encounter your takeaway is to assume that everyone who disagrees with you on issues of public policy is either a Nazi or White Supremacist? Wow, just wow.
