  1. Thursday night has problems that have nothing to with flexing. (MNF thrived for decades without it.) First, it’s on a ‘channel’ that many find to be complicated to access. Second, the scheduled games have been of suspect importance even before the season started. Finally, it’s on a night of the week that many are just too busy to devote the time to outside of the traditional football weekend. They can’t fix one or three but the second factor, the game lineup, could be fixed without flexing. It seems like Thursday has typically gotten the NFL’s cast off games.
  2. Gunner or Brit: Have either of you been by the re-purposed/renovated Highbury Stadium, which I understand was the home of Arsenal before The Emirates? The photos I’ve seen of the transformation look incredible! For Bills fans it’d be like The Rockpile but on a much more ambitious scale. I urge everyone to google it.
  3. What now? Geez you have a real problem with reading g comprehension. I did not say that you cannot have an opinion. I said that the Governor of Florida is not trying to please you as a resident of WNY. If you’re pleased that’s nice, but it’s of no consequence to DeSantis. Likewise if you’re not pleased, it’s of little consequence. Is that any clearer?
  4. I understand. With the amount of money being spent on player salaries I’ve always thought it was a shame that players languish on a practice squad, not really knowing from week to week whether they should keep a bag packed. These guys have personal lives. (Now at the same time, I do really like how they’ve limited the rookie contracts and think it’s great that we’ve moved passed the days of rookie holdouts.)
  5. That part I understand. I guess I should’ve said that I don’t agree with it. If teams can ‘hide’ players there and still stay under the cap…I’m okay with it. It’s all a financial juggling act.
  6. I don’t believe that’s what he meant. He was referring to the fact that I said the Governor of a state he doesn’t live in, doesn’t have much concern over what SUNY thinks about his style of governance. I have literally no idea why he believes that’s making things ‘personal’. Shrug 🤷🏼‍♂️
  7. The hosts at CNN and MSNBC are getting paid big money to claim they ‘believe’ this. I have literally no idea why anyone else still would.
  8. It’s not about making it personal. He’s the governor of Florida. You’ve said you live in WNY. You are not one of his constituents. It’s that simple.
  9. I’ve never understood why teams can’t have as many players as they want so long as they don’t go over the cap.
  10. It’s obviously the phase right after phase two and the one immediately preceding phase four. 👍
  11. YOU said that Democrats respect elections. But when I point how they absolutely do not, your response is that they respect them “less less” than Republicans? Okie Dokie
  12. YOU said that Democrats respect the results of elections….not me. Your definition of respect is obviously way different from mine. And, there’s literally no comparison between a bunch of Trump supporting nitwits and actual sitting members of Congress.
  13. Now THAT made me laugh! Well posted.
  14. Did you conveniently forget that actual Democratic congressional representatives boycotted Trump’s inauguration? If that isn’t rejecting the results of elections I have no idea what planet we’re living on.
  15. On the contrary. It seems to me that there’s more need for the EC now than when it was first created.
  16. Thanks…I think you’re getting there now. I am not a lawyer but I imagine it could be argued that the plaintiff(s) has standing; their ancestors were harmed. The defendant(s) however does not have standing; the current government is not the one that harmed them. That’s where I believe you were spot on with your earlier ‘slavery was legal’ comment. In short, unfortunate as some might think it is, there is no one to sue.
  17. Quite frankly, I was having a conversation with another poster when you chimed in. Feel free to go back and read what I posted in the context of THAT discussion and then maybe we can start over.
  18. I thought about this one overnight and while I still appreciate the basic theory I’m not sure that you’re coming at it from the right angle. The concept behind reparations is about society at large repairing a societal/moral wrong. The problem with it is that they’re trying to repair a moral wrong with a financial solution. To do that someone ELSE has to pay for it…and that’s where it goes fundamentally wrong. Just like the other examples you cite, we don’t have a tradition of compensating moral law with civil solutions. I guess they could always sue but who would they sue and who would be liable? In this case there isn’t a defendant with any ‘standing’. It’s an interesting discussion, for sure!
  19. Morning Roundy Reading comprehension is definitely not your strong suit. I never claimed that there’s a conspiracy theory of any kind nor did I claim that anyone other than Putin started the war. Keep swinging though, you’re bound to hit the ball one of these times.
  20. Much like your screen name….You’re going in circles now. So in short, you agree with me, the US government is trying to see if they can get Putin ’removed’. It took a bit but we’ve finally reached agreement. Have a good one!
  21. Well by your own admission you believe he doesn’t give a rats arse what you think. No?
  22. In the English language, when referring to an elected official, it means to have him/her no longer be in office. Does it mean something different in Klingon?
  23. So you believe the Governor of Florida is supposed to ask a random Western New Yorker what he thinks before doing any governing? Interesting concept for sure, but really hard to implement. 😉
