  1. Well if insolvency is real, then you can’t stay ahead of the bill collector forever. Someone must have a plan. I’ve often wondered whether at some point the cost simply outpaces American’s ability to pay for it, and the seemingly unlimited level of care rapidly declines. Let’s face it, our standard of care looks nothing like what it did just a few decades ago. When you see a photo of hospital back then, it was pretty much just a bed and a nurse standing by.
  2. You crack me up! Keep selling that Trump hate. We need you on that wall. 👍
  3. I’m old enough to remember when Hillary pushed the big red reset button in a pledge to be all cozy with the Putin regime. But maybe I’m the only one old enough.
  4. Is it a coincidence that Medicare goes insolvent the same year the Bills new stadium is scheduled to open? Hmmm? In all seriousness, they’ve been projecting the insolvency of these entitlement programs for decades. Now, I’m not saying they’re wrong, but what happens then? We just pay a higher copay or premium for it? We add more to the national debt?
  5. Morning Hawk. I’ve always said I’m not a healthcare voter (knock on wood, and thanks be to God), but I’m curious where you see the service quality log jam to be. Is it the insurance companies? The hospitals? Both?
  6. I’m old enough to remember when Barry was caught on a hot microphone promising Russia that he’d make ACTUAL back room deals with Putin. But maybe I’m the only one old enough.
  7. So then you do believe someone is stealing the construction money? Well at least that’s settled.
  8. It’s what’s called “spin” and it isn’t complicated. The Bills were trying to be respectful of Frazier by waiting to see if he would get an offer elsewhere. He didn’t. But because they waited they ended up missing out on many, if not all, of the available top candidates for his replacement. So now they’re pretty much forced to say ‘we’ll take from here’.
  9. For heaven’s sake dude. You’re all over the map on this topic. First, it’s a roof. Now, it’s square feet. Is it that you believe someone is stealing construction money? If so, who exactly? But, if you just desperately want to sit under a cover, there’ll literally be THOUSANDS of them in the new stadium. I’m sure you can find one to your liking. Go Bills
  10. By the way, Tottenham is not covered because it’s NEW. Their old stadium (White Hart Lane) had covered seats. All English soccer stadiums have covered seats….even the really old rundown ones. It’s been a standard there for most of the past century. That’s most definitely NOT the standard for NFL stadiums. Just saying.
  11. People are all over the map on this issue. Dome: no dome. Covered seats: completely covered seats. Amenities: complete guesses about lack of amenities. I’ll try and keep putting a glass half full outlook on it.
  12. So...we'll put you down as a 'no' vote then? Duly noted!
  13. I keep reading comments like this with people saying the new stadium will just be a slightly upgraded Highmark Stadium. I don’t agree. From what’s been released to date the new stadium will be a unique and modern OUTDOOR venue. If you just look around the NFL at the other outdoors stadiums, there are only two with this amount of covered seating: Miami and Seattle. The rest of the outdoor stadiums (some relatively recent) are pretty much wide open, with zero covered seating, including: New York/New Jersey New England Philadelphia Pittsburgh Cleveland Cincinnati Chicago Green Bay (recently renovated) Kansas City (recently renovated) San Francisco And many of those are in some pretty ‘well-healed’ Northeastern cities. Those facilities account for virtually half of the entire NFL! Sure. The Bills new stadium isn’t indoors. We've all known it wouldn’t be for quite some time now. But to say it’s just a newer Highmark stadium is a bit of a stretch.
  14. All this discussion about TEs and not a single mention of Zach Ertz. Come on people!
  15. Complainers will almost always outshout those that are applauding. It’s just the way it is. But…I don’t think the Bills are doing themselves any public relations favors by dribbling out such limited views of the new stadium.
  16. Goose, do you live in Chicago? Who do you think wins the runoff? And will it be a positive change?
  17. BillStime likes to throw that out there as a blast against his arch-enemy, Trump. But it's Biden who would be tasked with collecting on those loans. Trump lives in Florida now.
  18. The shape you're describing would better be described as a 'dome'....even if that word is forbidden on here. I guarantee they have studied it. The lake effect winds are not going to be a surprise to the designers. They were probably told about them at the very first meeting. Remember, Popolous is a design firm that specializes in sports venue design. Their staff is very versed in all things, sports. The notorious Rich Stadium conditions are well known to anyone who watches football, let alone these specialized experts.
  19. I think you mean a cylinder, not a sphere. Once again, what might seem the best configuration to you might not actually be the design that best reacts to the modeled conditions. Believe me….it’s being looked at in the computer modeling.
  20. Interesting points. These days we’re able to create a computer model of the entire facility and then perform ‘virtual’ wind tunnel testing on it. The architects will study sun angles for television lighting, wind, and of course snow.
  21. What about PPP loans exactly? Did companies ask or demand to have them forgiven?
  22. I don't doubt that you're at least partially right, but they don't need to build a new stadium to get that result. If that's what the goal is, couldn't they just significantly raise ticket prices in the existing stadium and parking lots?
  23. That part always seemed really odd to me. As has been widely discussed, these diseases are generally named after the place where they originated. (Lyme's disease, Ebola, SARS, etc.). So why was it so wrong to call this one the Wuhan Virus? You believe it was all about scoring a brief, momentary, political point against Trump. The bigger question is what if it actually went beyond Trump?
  24. Ya gotta love a running back named Tank Bigsby! 👍
