Gunner…question for our English contingent: Why does Fulham’s brand new riverside grandstand appear to be mostly roped off when I see it on TV? Are they having a problem with the stadium or is it that they can’t fill it?
I may just take you up on it. 😂 We’ve already been to Leicester, Watford, Fulham, QPR, and Chelsea…along with Wembley and hopefully Tottenham of course.
I don’t want to throw monkey wrench into this but why does it seem that the Bills are reacting rather than acting? They’ve been a great regular season team for quite a few seasons now. But now it’s time for the coaching staff to step up during the playoffs and outsmart their opponents. There is no silver bullet. It’s not size, speed, or strength. It’s about being a step ahead of your opponent with game day adjustments to what your opponent does to counter what you’re doing.
Thanks
I forgot all about West Ham. I’ve never been too interested in going to the Olympic stadium. It looks cavernous on TV. We took a train down to Brighton last time just to see the coast. It was super easy and the town is cool! If I recall though the Amex stadium isn’t really near the train station.
Lots to choose from:
Arsenal
Brighton
Brentford
Fulham
Chelsea
Not quite sure if there’s another London area club that might be promoted up from the Championship. Maybe Millwall?
That’s only relatively recently. For many years the Bruins shared the Coliseum with USC. For most of its long history the Rose Bowl was used just for the Rose Bowl game. (Again, it’s the closest analogy I could come up with to explain Wembley.)
So Brit if this is true then the Bills game is the weekend before the international break? Meaning that there ‘should’ be matches around London on Wednesday October 4th and Saturday the 7th?
Hey Brit….is there a reason why the NFL doesn’t play at Twickenham Stadium? I’ve never been there and quite frankly didn’t know it was as large as it is until we were in London the last time the Bills were at Wembley. Is it nice?
Ya know, I always thought with a name like Poona that he must have some Hawaiian heritage but now I find out that it’s a nickname from his grandmother. Go figure!
I have to say that Beane clearly recognizes the same deficiencies that most fans do. He might not get it done in the exact order everyone on here wants him to…but he definitely has a plan. No telling whether it all works but it’s clearly not random.
Go Bills
You certainly never know from year to year. Just a year ago you’d have been facing Russel Wilson, Derek Carr and Tom Brady in games that on paper anyway would’ve looked pretty tough. Now….not so much.
Last time we went we were able to catch a Championship League match at Fulham on Wednesday night of the week leading up to the Bills game. Do you know if the lower divisions are also on a bye during an international break?
The best analogy I can come up with is Wembley is the national stadium, sort of like the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Neither is a home stadium for a specific team. Tottenham is the actual home stadium to for the Hotspurs, sort of like SoFi stadium would be for the Rams/Chargers. Just like in Los Angeles the two stadiums are only a few miles apart from each other. Hope that helps.
If I remember last time we were in London for the Bills game, the World Rugby Finals were going on across town that same weekend. There were sports fans everywhere!
