  1. Cost overruns are generally not due to the inefficiencies you’re referring to. And believe me when I say the ‘guy in SoCal’ has already forgotten more about public work’s construction than you ever thought you knew.
  2. That’s definitely NOT how public works construction is done. Just saying.
  3. What’s funny is when I actually uncovered Indian bones on my project site the archeologist said to me …”ya know, I always wanted to be an architect”. 😂
  4. Nope…the construction budget would never be able to afford that.
  5. People…please! Everything isn’t a controversy. The groundbreaking CEREMONY is just that…a ceremony. It’s not at all unusual for this sort of thing to occur many weeks after actual construction activity has commenced. For example, with the new stadium there are asphalt parking areas that need to first be removed. That activity is not conducive to having public officials turning dirt with a gold shovel. There’s nothing to see here! Sheesh
  6. I certainly understand the sentiment but I have to ask why aren’t ticket prices sky high in the current stadium? I mean what’s stopping them? Is there some secret switch that’s being thrown?
  7. There was an Indian named Sheldon? Go figure!
  8. Thanks Matt You pulled my comment up from over a month ago? I have to admit it’s still fresh today. To answer your question, did Trump lie? I assume so. Everyone does from time to time. That doesn’t negate my comment though. I didn’t say he was elected because he always told the truth. He was elected because people felt he would call out Washington’s corrupt cabal of the media and seemingly permanent bureaucrats….and he did.
  9. Keep your chin up Homey The folks at Populous know what they’re doing. Think positive!
  10. So you’re saying it’s being built for young, unemployed fans?
  11. I have to agree with Kemp on this one. Everyone knows that the proper way to overthrow the government is to make up fake stories about your political opponent and then we he tries to look into the blatantly obvious corruption, impeach him for asking questions about it. I mean…duh!
  12. I actually found bones on a construction site one time a few years back. I got to hold the jaw bone of a Native American in my hands. Super cool! The archeologist said it was something like 600 hundred years old. Turns out the site was a village, not a burial ground, so with the help of the local tribe we re-interned the bones on the property and made an educational walking path out of the location. Luckily it didn’t delay our construction all that much.
  13. So what are we going to call the new place? It needs a working title.
  14. Just with England? Or with the entire United Kingdom? 😉
  15. True story…I actually knew Mr Karcher. He passed away quite a few years ago. He and his brother ran Carl’s Jr back then, even before it merged with Hardee’s.
  16. Saratoga If you’ve never been, I highly recommend staying an extra couple of days and taking the bullet train to Paris and back. It’s CHEAP, and the two hour ride is incredibly relaxing. The Eurostar leaves from London about every hour. If you’re traveling with a significant other you are going to score points that’ll last you a lifetime once she steps foot onto the streets of Paris.
  17. We’ve been taking the Heathrow Express from the airport. It gets you into the City in just a few minutes and is way cheaper than a cab ride. Once at St Pancras Station, you can get anywhere on the Tube. You can get Express tickets online or right there at the airport.
  18. Leo, now I’ll apologize for butting in. My recommendation is to make sure your hotel is close to a Tube Station. The Tube is fantastic for getting around London, and you definitely do not need a car. We’ve always stayed in the Kensington area, which is just west of the City center and close to Earl’s Court; the main station that connects many of the London Underground lines. From Earl’s Court you can get to pretty much anywhere in just a few minutes. And regarding sightseeing, virtually all of the best known sites are within walking distance along the Thames River. It’s a full day for sure but within it you can see just about every place you’ve heard of.
  19. Thanks. I agree with all but the last sentence. The age thing is a bit of stretch. As was shown in the other thread, we’re talking about a matter of WEEKS older, not months or years. That could be just because of when player’s birthdays fall. (Somewhat kidding). However, you’re right when it comes to our drafting track record. At some point you’d think one of these guys, other than Allen, would become a household name. But not so far.
  20. You can go around and around on this but the fact remains that if Josh Allen didn’t turn into the QB he’s become EVERYTHING else about this team changes and it’s pretty likely that Beane would be gone. That’s not intended in any way as Beane bashing, it’s just the simple truth.
  21. Thanks On television it looks like fans are sitting in the two outer ends of the upper deck but not in the middle of the upper grandstand, while the entire lower deck is full. It reminds me of how Jacksonville puts a tarp over a large portion of their stadium. I sure hope they’re not having a problem after the construction.
  22. Adam, look at it this way, if the Bills were willing to let Edmunds (defensive QB and captain) walk this offseason, think about how much easier of a decision that’s going to be with Oliver next year. IMO, he’s as good as gone. Now the interesting question will be to watch how he plays this year. Will he be going all out to increase his value elsewhere or will he mail it in knowing he’ll be a cap casualty. We’re all going to find out together. Welcome to the big contract franchise QB era of Bills history.
  23. The answer to this topic seems about simple as it can get. When the offseason dust settled the Bills chose to keep both starting Tackles and their Center. They’ll be swapping out both starting Guards for guys who weren’t even in the organization last season. So…it just comes down to improving Guard play…period. I’m guessing it’ll be better. It almost has to be.
