The first game of the Toronto series was a pre-season game against the Steelers. Driving in, you could see the roof was open before the game, because it was a great summer afternoon, sunny and warm.  At some point before the game started it was decided to close the roof.  Not sure why, because there was no weather issues, like rain, coming in.

I’m curious Jack, have you been to Minnesota or Los Angeles? Neither is anything like the domes of the past.

7 pages in and I'm shocked it seems like I'm the only one who remembers this was rumored all the way back when he was drafted. IIRC, he left Columbia and went to a CC in Los Angeles for a year, which seemed an extremely odd thing to do for someone who got into an Ivy. The implication was that Columbia told him to leave to let things cool off, and then took him back. I have a vague recollection that this rumor was pervasive enough that Wiley addressed it at some point when he was playing for the Bills. I would not swear by that, but I absolutely remember that this was talked about either on this board or somewhere else I interacted with Bills fans in the mid 90s.

Anyway, I only bring this up because I think the idea that this was pulled out of nowhere by his accusers after 30 years isn't entirely accurate. I believe he deserves due process and a presumption of innocence, but I think something that may wind up happening is these women will have people they were close to testify that they were told *when it happened*. That is likely to be the secondary evidence. And it also isn't much of a stretch of the imagination to think that one of these confidants talking about it is how it wound up being discussed by Bills fans 30 years ago.

Seems to me the issue isn’t whether the accusers have a claim. The issue is where have they been for the last three decades…..no?

People saying if the Bills don’t do anything a CB means they are drafting CB first seem to miss the irony of that statement. The Bills just traded a first round CB and have a top 5 CB starting who they drafted in the 6th. The Bills can find a CB pretty much anywhere in the draft, relax.

I have no idea how you put that logic chain together. CB is a four down starting position in the NFL, and you need TWO of them. We currently have one. You believe we should roll some mid-round rookie out there? Would you say the same for any other four down position either on offense or defense?

The Bills won't get one of them. I was responding to the question "If we had the #1 pick what would you do". Beane may try and trade up, but I doubt he trades up enough to get the top 2 or 3 DL unless one of them falls in draft board.

Thanks. I’m assuming if one of them falls then they probably aren’t the generational talent that many are praying for.

From what I have read from the "experts" the top DE in this draft is Abdul Carter. Others to consider Mason Graham or James Pearce Jr.

Thanks for putting together a list. So what does it take to get one?

On a related note, I’ve seen so many posts, mocks, and lists that have BOTH Michigan DTs taken in Round One. I’m not a draft expert but one has to wonder if it’s like choosing the right “Josh” or the wrong “Josh”. Would the Bills be just as well off by picking the other one at 30 or a little before and seeing how they BOTH work out?

I’m sure something, some where, some time came in on budget, right?

Yeah….probably not and especially if the government was involved in any way.

All of my government funded projects came in on budget….and there were literally hundreds of them.  They had to. It was written into the contract. That doesn’t mean they didn’t experience escalation and change orders during construction, but they were always under the originally capped funding allocation.

We have the QB. I would probably draft for DL. It worked for them in 1985 with the selection of #78 or I would entertain trading the pick and see what teams are willing to give up. The Bills desperately need a game changer on the DL.

So Gregg…who is that DL player in the 2025 draft?

  8. What’s strikes me is how little time these guys have working together. If this were a company it’d be a rather new ‘start up’. Add to that the same being true of most NFL rosters, including the Bills, and it’s a good thing they where the same gear/uniforms or nobody would know who anyone is. 😳

AJ Brown to me combines Moulds size, strength and speed, TO also kinda fits the type too.

I was thinking TO as well. I remember him as a bigger beast of a WR in an era that featured leaner, faster guys. Does anyone know how his actual measurables compare to current guys?

Burrow is a mirage of his surroundings IMO. That's not to say he doesn't have skills. He does. But he's greatly propped up by the WRs around him and the fact the defense is so bad they are in almost constant come back mode and have to pass 40+ times a game.

Even Jake Browning looked really good throwing to Chase and Higgins 2 seasons ago. I see people putting him top 3. I don't see him even in the top 5 QBs.

And don’t forget about his frosted hair style. What’s up with that?

  11. Unless they’re going to use every single one of their picks on defense I find it hard to imagine they wouldn’t draft at least one, maybe two WRs. Look at it this way, they really don’t need to take a QB, OLineman, RB or TE. So what’s left? WR….seems pretty obvious. No?

  12. I’ll let someone else copy and paste a link to the article (the image I copied was apparently to large to copy/paste) but a website called dezeen has an interesting feature on some of the latest designs for ‘football’ stadiums around the world….and many of them are by Populous, the architectural firm designing the Bills new stadium. Some pretty wild stuff!
