  1. Lots of talk on here about the Sabres. Has anyone considered that Terry may be thinking he’s just not been that good at owning an NHL hockey team? Successful people like to be successful. They also don’t like losing. I’m guessing he’s spent more than a few nights trying to decide if he’s capable of putting a winning team on the ice. And if his conclusion is that he’s not, I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if he says ‘I know the many things that I’m good at, and this definitely isn’t one of them’.
  2. Running a corporation is far more complicated and nuanced than the old ‘workers vs management’ that you imply.
  3. Gregg….it’s 75 and sunny here today….again. 😁 (In case you were wondering.)
  4. In the good ‘ol days the league had this same collusion meeting every year. It’s just that back then it was more accurately labeled as the “Can somebody please tell Al Davis to knock it off?” Meeting. 😉
  5. My point is that the entire league doesn’t act like individual corporations but instead like branch offices of a single, larger company. We had this same challenge in my company and we constantly had to remind the various branch managers not to get too out of line when it came to salaries, etc as it ultimately became problematic for the other branches.
  6. These issues are really complicated when it comes to an unusual business like the NFL. While yes, the teams are in quasi-competition with each other, they are NOT in open business competition. The teams depend on each other and the league as a whole benefits from an even ‘playing field’ thus shared television revenue, a weighted draft, and of course a salary cap. While I’m confident the Players Union would lobby for guaranteed contracts (that’s what a Union is supposed to do), I can also see how the Owners would get together to try and reduce such a trend. With all of that said there’s no bigger critique of the current commissioner than me, so I post this with a torn conscience.
  7. Okay….that does it! I’m officially canceling my Knighthawk streaming package.
  8. Let LOOSE the Kraken!
  9. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that performance. He looked like he didn’t care or that he’d prepared or studied a playbook. Really embarrassed for him and completely unprofessional.
  10. I remember every single one of them and more. The only one that I know for sure I’d exclude is Kelso. I was never a big fan. To answer your last question, yes both Leonard Smith and Schultz were indeed better ‘hitters’. Safety is probably the biggest debate across the entire 22 man starting roster.
  11. I brought up the Safeties a few days ago. Are we sure Poyer and Hyde wouldn’t deserve those spots? I realize it was a different era but man it seems like they held down the back end for quite a few seasons.
  12. Amen! Listening to Van Miller and maybe Ed Rutkowski? Memory fades. Can’t recall who used to host that Saturday afternoon Highlights show on Channel 7.
  13. I’d prefer if you could buy just a ONE team package. I couldn’t care less who the Seahawks are playing.
  14. I find it interesting that neither Reggie McKenzie or Joe D are on the all time O Line roster.
  15. Well done! Just as I suspected…the only current players on the list are Josh Allen and Dion Dawkins. None on defense. Shows just what we’re dealing with on the current run to a championship.
  16. I still remember sitting in the living room listening to the home games on my little transistor radio. Then, anxiously waiting until the next Saturday afternoon to watch “Buffalo Bills Highlights” on Channel 7 to see the game from the weekend before. It was the only way for me to know what the game even looked like. And…it was free!
  17. 0% financing to watch television. Nice!
  18. That’s why I find this list so interesting. The game has changed quite a bit over the decades and positions like Safety have changed with it.
  19. Ha! I think it’s that next step where some tough choices have to be made, and where some really interesting things are uncovered. For example…Kelly over Allen (probably not?). Simpson over Thomas (maybe?). How about Poyer and Hyde (did we see the best two safeties side by side for so many years?)
  20. So take the next step and list your all time top eleven starting lineup on offense and defense. You can even add in a kicker, punter, and return man.
  21. I’m sitting on a beach in the middle of the offseason. What does Ned want to talk about? 🤷🏼‍♂️
  22. No worries. What would be more interesting than the Top 15 players is everyone’s list of the best starting lineup at each position.
  23. So to be clear, your ranking is limited to the second half of the franchise’s history.
  24. You’re more than welcome! It’s generally in the low 70s and sunny. 😎 But remember the games start at 10:00am.
  25. Getting weirder? Nope…I was always weird. 😉
