  1. Allen sees the field well but he doesn't take chances or make good decisions. Is that who he is or is it because he played at Wyoming and is in his rookie year? It's hard to tell. He could progress into a really good QB, maybe best in this class or he could never move away from his mobile vision and remain who he is. It took Steve Young a while to get it. It might take 5 to 7 years but I think that is the ceiling Allen could reach, Young/McNair. Or he could be just better than Tyrod, somewhere close to Nick Foles. He's a tough read.
  2. I'm accurate. Beane's first draft and offseason as GM was with the Bills. He is a nepotism hire doing on the job training as GM. The Panthers skipped over him twice and hired other GMs. Only reason he's here is because McDermott wants him here.
  3. Right, but you are minimizing my context to make a side argument that he was Interim GM for 3 months.
  4. It's meaningless. Marginal at best. Can Anderson play starting football is the only question. So far his career says no.
  5. Better than Allen is a low bar. Maybe he will. But that doesn't mean they will become magically better and have an NFL offense. Anderson is a career backup and he will most likely struggle to move the offense.
  6. LMAO. He drafted players? He put together an offseason? A draft Board? He was GM for 3 months. The team skipped over him and hired Gettleman.
  7. He didn't make any decisions. That was the year they skipped over Beane and hired Gettleman.
  8. He's a career backup. He doesn't know what teams will plan for him as the starter.
  9. It's a low bar. Doing better and actually being a QB are two different things. People believe he'll "Win games" and "Light it up" I don't believe he'll do either of those things. Colts do suck on defense so maybe they win this week but to expect him to be any better in the long run is hope, nothing more.
  10. Sounds like if we get ride of Tyrod we'll be better. I root for whoever they play. I just don't have much faith in a career backup. I want him to do well but I'd be shocked if he does any better than Allen. He's still half Allen, half Peterman after all these years. Based on? Hope? This is yet to be seen.
  11. Rosen's issue all along. He played with a superior Oline and still got injured and made bad reads. What happens when he doesn't have that Oline? He sees the rush.
  12. At least Castillo has been a career OL coach. Beane knows nothing about personnel. He's never picked players. He's never been in charge or had final say. Everything Beane does is on the job training.
  13. This is my issue as well. Not only this but they allowed him a nepotism hire in Beane which means he will remain unchecked in personnel. What if you're offered a first for Hughes?
  14. Same as when Tyrod was here, sack don't matter for this kind of QB. They have to chase him. It tires the rush for later in the game. Take sacks, just don't turn it over. Especially if defense is playing well. Aaron Rodgers takes a lot of sacks too.
  15. His running changes everything about the offense, because we have limited talent on that side of the ball. If they can get him for 30 or 40 yards per game they could be more competitive and probably win more games. He already sees the field better than Bortles. Has to keep improving though.
  16. IDK if they have the LT. They have a good player there but he's just a slightly above average player. They could use upgrades at all five positions on the line.
  17. 50+ catches with Tyrod is not a miss. He's too expensive but he's not a "miss." Again, I hope they replace him with a rookie, like Fant in round two but saying he was a miss is just bias. Here's where we agree though. I believe they have to draft well to build a super bowl team. Were we disagree is I don't trust Beane to sign or trade for any player worthy of what we've seen in Alexander or Hyde or Poyer. If he gets bogged down with big shots in the dark next year we could turn into the Redskins of the past. The easiest way to destroy roster building is to sign big contract players who are going through the motion.
  18. Again a coach and GM work together. If the GM has a list of players it's usually players that fit a scheme. The HC is 50% the GM 50%. I don't doubt McDermott was in also in control of the 2017 draft. Unlike you I believe the GM makes the board, scouts the players and shares his finding with the HC. Again your bias overshadows any objectivity you would have on any subject. Also my major complaint is with the bad trades and FA signings. Whaley traded for Shady. Beane traded for KB. Whaley signed Alexander, Poyer, Hyde, with a tight cap. Beane signed Marshall Newhouse. I understand it should be built through the draft for 90% of your roster but that doesn't mean you don't need diamonds to come in as free agents. Not big signing, but guys who show up and overperform. If we're talking building a super bowl team we have to be a hell of a lot better at player signings and trades then Beane has shown in a year and a half.
  19. You just make excuses. Everything is just an excuse for you. It's bias and not worthy of discussion. No I thought it was a five year process. I'd give McDermott five years. I probably wouldn't even fire him after five years because he's a leader of men. As I said before McDermott could have a coaching career like Marvin Lewis and I wouldn't fire him. I would however fire Beane in year three.
  20. Never said he was terrible. I don't think he's added any value to his job. Again if Josh Allen becomes a star, fine. But on every other value we have to have hope when it comes to Beane. It's always, wait til next year from people like you.
