  1. Unless I'm wrong Dennison has always been OC in name only. Allen is a running QB like Cam. He is not a pocket QB and thinking he will change his game because he's a rookie is dumb. McDermott has said he likes that he can run and is an athlete. The Bills want him to be Cam. The only reason Dennison had a better running game is because he had Tyrod. Put Tyrod on this team and they're still a top 5 running team.
  2. And replaced both with more talented versions of the same QB and OC.
  3. Yeah actually they did. They want to build a run heavy team like the Panthers. That's why you take Allen, he can get out of trouble. They're tying to build a power west coast team. That's why McDermott went after McCoy to be his OC. He wants the offense Shula's kid ran in Carolina. That's why they keep brining in full backs. Allen fits a run heavy team in that system. Look at the QBs in that system, Farve, Cam, Rodgers, Montana, Steve Young, all mobile. Escaping and delivering the option pass to the full back is a staple. The big blocking/possession receiver.
  4. Some of it is coaching. For example they should never throw out routes with Peterman. They should play him like we played Fitz. His offense should be all crossing routes, posts and hooks. But they have an offense and they run it no matter who's under center.
  5. If the Raiders fire McKenzie I'd hire him under Beane with a title like director of football operations.
  6. Teams are playing 8 and even 9 against the run. They run blitz almost every first down. The line is as good as last year. The missing piece is a running QB. When Allen is a runner the offense looks better. Problem is Allen is not a Cam/Tyrod type runner.
  7. I believe they actually thought McCoy would be the same runner without Tyrod. I believe they actually thought Peterman would be better passing the football because he'd throw it quickly. I believe they're inept football people. This is coaching.
  8. You have to understand this is the team McDermott wants to build. If he gets it right, we will be the Seahawks, not the Rams or Pats or Chiefs. He's not trying to build that team. He wants the team from last year but with more talent. He wants to run the QB. He want to run trick plays. He wants to win because his defense killed the other team. From what I can see he's trying to build the Eagles with McNabb or the Cam led Panthers. If we score a lot of points it will be because of short fields and turnovers. The defense is still missing 3 or 4 players. They need a boundary corner, a long elite right end, a young Kyle Williams and a 3 down strong side who is interchangeable with Milano in coverage. On offense they'll probably go LT and C before receiver. They don't want a showboat receiver. They want receivers who can make tough catches. The big play they want in the passing game will need to be made by the tight end. It can work or you can become the Bengals where it's just not good enough in the modern NFL to play this kind of football, especially in the playoffs.
  9. At this point they should just pull a Russ Brandon and at least keep us entertained. I'm for it. I'm actually for a circus so even Kaepernick would be welcome.
  10. Browns are out of rebuild. Bills still fighting to go 7-9 or 9-7. That's the roster they've built. Browns tore it down and are loaded with young talent. Just seems like we've been here for 20 years. They never let it fail and get the top pick for several years. They always sign names and draft athletes. It's the Donahoe years redux.
  11. Because they believe this team was built to win this year. Despite what fans say they are not in a rebuild like the Browns were or like the Giants are now. They build short sighted year to year teams like Tom Donahoe. Beane has no vision. He'll sign names next year and draft the best athlete unless there is a football player on defense McDermott wants.
  12. I love McDermott and want him to stay five years, but don't you think the Rams held on to Fisher too long? If there is a young offensive innovator I would understand them firing McDermott. Again I wouldn't fire him, I'm just saying we can't let continuity lie keep us locked in loser hell.
  13. Because Gary Kubiak is still in the organization and has a hand in the offense. Joseph worked for Kubiak in Houston. I heard the plan was if Kubiak was healthy he'd come back and Joseph would stay as his DC. Apparently they're good friends and he recommended Joseph for HC.
  14. Connecting the dot is just your hope. It doesn't mean that's their plan and it doesn't mean it will workout like you believe in your head. They replaced big contracts with new big contracts. This is just a belief you want to have but it does not make sense when looking at rebuilds. This was not a rebuild. They believed they would win this season. They did not let holes remain, they traded, drafted and signed contracts for this season. The only meaningful change that was not replaced is QB. But they got their rookie. The player they supposedly sought for months before the draft. I understand they are marketing, but what's new? The Bills are always marketing to their true believes. They're always selling hope. As I said somewhere here before. 2019 will have to be what 2018 is in the minds of fans. If they don't tear it down in 2019 we're looking at 7-9/9-7 for the foreseeable future. Or we're looking at coaching and front office changes. Or we're dealing with a Russ Brandon/Tom Donahoe situation.
  15. These are all your idea of their plan. Their actions say different then your ideas. They believed in this team. They did not take a step back. That's your summation.
  16. Talking about something and doing it are two different things. Or as they used to say, talk is cheap. Tell me what their plan is? They believed this team was going to be good. They believed they would go deeper into the play offs with this team. They tried to add to the team from last year. It's only true believes who are projecting the teams failure into "They wanted to have a rebuild year." What makes people say this I have zero idea. This is only a transition year in the minds of fans who want it to finally work, this time.
  17. I have zero confidence in Beane. I don't think he knows what he's doing. I don't think he has a plan. I don't believe he knows how to build a roster. I don't believe he knows how to judge talent, draft picks or free agents. So far he's reminding me of Donahoe where he just gets athletes and hopes they progress. I do believe McDermott can make a good roster look like the Bengals or Vikings or Steelers.
  18. Tyrod covered up a lot of bad play while with the Bills. The Bills Oline has been awful for 20 years, Tyrod was just a good coverup for them. His problem is teams built a book on him and he can't do that thing great players do. He can't overcome the book on him. So that's why he's seemingly worse every year. He's still the same player, teams just know how to play him. This is why I think Beane has failed. How can fans see this but the GM cannot? He's not a real GM. Also why not just stop pacifying fans and go young. It's the right thing to do. Lose all these names. Stop signing names. Draft it. Sign up and comers. No names. I swear this guy is Tom Donahoe crossed with Russ Brandon. Draft athletes, sign/trade for names. Never works.
  19. I could see their "process" meaning stability next year so close to zero changes.
