  1. -full-time refs -need data and review -3 refs review the calls in every game -identify calls not made that should have -review penalty calls - made correctly or not -if all 3 agree, then correct -if not, reviewed by review committee -zoom call of all nfs offficials -data for correct calls are made, sample of correct calls reviewed -calls with disagreements reviewed. discussion of why correct takes place -this is the only way to get refs to develop consistency. work towards everyone approaching calls with the same criteria
  2. Mitchell disinterested? Sounds like he may be depressed. Type 1 Diabetes is a very challenging, life-altering diagnosis for a young person. If so, I hope he gets help and blossoms.
  3. He is senior offensive assistant. Alabama QB. Alabama Head coach. 9 years as an NFL offensive coordinator. What does he actually do? You think he would help.
  4. The NFL needs good data on penalties to understand the problems. Hire officials fulltime Have every play of every game reviewed by 3 different officials. Were penalties that were called correct? Were there penalties that could have/should have been called. Is there consistency between the three reviewers? Use these reviews to grade the refs who called the games. Reviewing every play would be tedious, but should help the officials be more accurate and consistent. The NFL has enough money to pay for this. With the data, you can learn where there are problems with calls, which penalties are problematic, what rule changes might help
  5. The Bills lost 7 seconds at the end of the half. Second and 12 , 17 seconds left. GB off sides, ran down to 10 seconds. No play, off sides. Should have put it back to 17.
  6. hesportsdaily.com/news/roger-kochman-the-buffalo-bills-worst-injury-most-forgotten-player-and-ground-zero-hero/ This guy had a great start. Looked like a star in the making. Football career cut way to short with a terrible knee injury. But he became a star in his second career.
  7. Facts. All the numbers that have been presented from various states are numbers, not facts. Each political organization can present numbers favorable to their agenda. In fact, I read that NY undercounted Covid deaths by not including those that had another possible cause such as cancer. A death may look like a covid death, but if the test is negative because the swab did not go deep enough for a good sample, it will be reported as not. We have some helpful info, but do not know the full picture. These numbers must be kept in perspective. The number of covid deaths will likely be much higher than reported now. NY showed that a horrific situation could be controlled, and the NFL might play. FL, TX and AZ showed you can let things get out of control, and may cost everyone the nfl season and more.
  8. This is a very significant event, First, there is a substantial level of misunderstanding regarding vaccines. There were 300 million deaths from smallpox in the the 20th century. That is the entire population of the US. Health care workers risked their lives to immunize people in third world countries in efforts to eradicate this horrific disease. Eradication of smallpox was an amazing achievement. Read up on this. Smallpox was horrible. Polio was a terrible disease. Parents would not let their children out doors in the summer as they feared polio. I was one of the first to get the polio vaccine. I remember standing in line at the school getting the vaccine. We are far removed from the devastation of these diseases. Measles, rubella, mumps, etc. Immunizations have been so successful, people today do not understand how successful vaccines are. A vaccine for covid would be wonderful. Covid is horrific. Just because people have different responses to infection does not diminish how serious this is. We are now seeing 2,000 deaths a day from this, despite the most extreme restrictions in history. That would approach 1 mlllion deaths in a year. We need to take every caution possible.
  9. I saw both Marlin and James play in War Memorial Stadium. Marlin was exciting, James had a powerful arm. The book Third and a Mile by William Rhoden was about the struggles of the first black quarterbacks in the NFL. It has been awhile since I read it, but I recall that when James Harris came to Buffalo as a rookie, it was not easy time. I'll look for the book.
  10. Wow. Had a question. Didn't see any posts. Sorry for offenses. Bye. Done.
  11. He is on the practice squad. Any news about him? Devin and Wade could be interesting.
  12. I have had family section tickets for years. I have gone to Bills games since 1963. It is a good experience in the family section. No drinks spilled on us, no vomiting, no fights. While I am older, and have back and hip pain, I still like to go to games. I can make use of the seats I paid for and actually sit for most of the game in the FS. I have found I cannot SIT in the sidelines seats, as I cannot stand the whole game. No distractions, I can watch and enjoy the game.
  13. I believe it would be very helpful if all replay reviews were done at real-time speed. That would be more fair to the refs, and faster. No super slow motion replays. If there is no conclusive evidence to overturn at game speed, the play stands. Egregious errors would still be corrected. Why review something in slo-mo? The refs can only see the play in real time. Replay should be the same.
  14. So he was 32 years old in 2007. He was 36 in 2012. Then he worked with Belichek. I wonder if he may have learned something? I prefer to think it is possible young coordinators get better.
  15. Again, EJ Manuel and Justin Hunter were signed and not ncondiered losses because their salaries were slightly low. Does the fact that they are active and have been playing change things? Could they now count?
