RD 3, Pick 96: TE Dawson Knox, Ole Miss
Locomark replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The top 3 RBs weren’t going to be there in the 4th. The Chicago news was all along saying the Bears wanted one of these 3 and the speculation here was they would all go in round 3. They were 100% right. All the people thinking that Bryce Love, who is a 5th round value at best, meant all RBs are late round picks isn’t paying attention. I will take a top 4 RB over a 15th ranked WR or 6th ranked TE every day of the week. -

Funny but one of our starting Outside linebackers is one of those 5th round “special teamers” who may be our best linebacker. I like KR but not if it will yield another rental or a Charles Clay deal. If we could gain a 2 year extension agreement in principle with the player in advance then I would do it.

RD 3, Pick 74: RB Devin Singletary, Florida Atlantic

If they dump Shady and Gore next year then what a great year of learning for Yeldon and the kid to learn from 2 of the best also. Gore has awesome pass blocking technique and that is a premium skill if you have a single back offense. I also think we have the cap space so why not groom a replacement now and next year you have one less gap to fill. BPA means competition. I like competition. This team will be better if it pushed harder from within. -

Speed wins in this league. We added speed at WR in FA and last year in Foster but our speed at RB is not what is should be. Shady may rip off 20 yard runs that could be 50 yard runs. This is why teams commit to young running backs. I think they want a kid to learn from Shady and Gore and this kid will possibly be RB2. Gore may only be a short yardage and goal line back. This may also signal the end of the FB in Buffalo. If we are going to be a spread offense then who needs a FB. Debating whether this is good choice in round 3 is worthless because they said they were going BPA and that’s what they did. -
For the " we missed out on Sternberger Crowd "... I ask 1 simple question. Why did the Pats trade down twice in front of us and not pick the Kid after they lost Gronk if he was so great? Answer: because he was not so great. Trust the process. The draft is 3 days long. We have 6 more picks and now we may be able to trade a RB/OL as well. Last year we grabbed Johnson and even signed an unsigned free agent in Foster than made a difference in this team. These guys know what they are doing. This is not Doug Whaley. Chillax... also: We also didn't need to jump at a DE when we may be signing Ansah and still have 6 picks and cap space left.
