When you have 40% new starters(almost all offense) this year, bringing up last year’s record is irrelevant. We added 20+ players who didn’t play here last year, so last year’s games meant nothing to them. They don’t even know Nate Peterman! Talent means more than culture and we have more of both this year.

The problem is no one is going to trade a great 25 year old WR. That’s why the FA list In 2020 looks like Green, Gordon, and a bunch of nothing. The Bills need waves of weapons so sign Green to a 3 yr deal and draft WRs. If some draftee blows the doors out then you make another deal later, but waiting around for some picks to become stars at WR when we will be picking in the 22+ range is not a sure fire plan. The reason I would give a shot and trade a 2nd for Green is look at our current 2nd rounder this year. Not really very good and they are rotating him because the staff has figured that out. So the cost of a second isn’t really mortgaging the future. Which is more likely..... a superstar returning to 85% of his prior form or a 45th overall pick becoming a superstar ?

I watch individual matchups all the time and <gasp> Kyle Williams last year and Star this year were getting knocked backward at the point of attack regularly. The term space eater should mean you hold the line of scrimmage against two guys consistently and if you aren’t getting doubled you are making plays to push the line backward. Have you ever seen Star push a play into the backfield or force a runner outside? I truly can’t remember many. His price tag should carry more with it. Teams seem to doubling Oliver now.

The fact the Bills were in in Sanders tells me our front office is actively looking for that WR upgrade we crave. I still think Cinci is blowing smoke about a 1st rounder for Green and that they will settle for a 2nd or maybe even a 3rd and likely give a high pick (6th) back as a sweetener. That Cinci team has 3 really good young WR and there is no way they will be paying Green next year so they will seek an asset and to go for that #1 overall pick by continuing this year’s tank. They need a Dalton replacement. They aren’t going to tell their fan base or team they are tanking so they keep saying they aren’t trading Green. They are! If he was in their future, they wouldn’t be dragging him to London to practice before their bye week when they could have rested him one more week!

This is why I like the Eagles game. The Eagles have talent that is recognized by the media even though their record stinks. Win this game convincingly and people will shut up.

There was twitter video of AJ practicing in pads yesterday and he went on their London trip.. buy low !!!!!! Lots of talk that he really wants out of Cinci, so they will want an asset before he walks in FA at end of year. They are fighting for the #1 draft pick, so why wouldn’t they deal him even if it’s for less value than they want because it beats nothing. Some really good smart team like the Saints, Packers, or Pats will sign him if we don’t.....

What about Godwin in Tampa ? Would you trade a first and get back a 3rd for him? He is on pace for 1700 yards.

I think trading Foster is a no brainer if you get a proven WR2 in return. He truly hasn’t proven much as indicated by his inability to get on the field this year. He has potential, which is why he makes for good trade bait, but potential doesn’t always turn into production. I am hoping his inactive status last week is a sign that someone is interested and they are making sure he doesn’t get nicked up.

Didn’t trigger anything. You said Beane would need to be dead drunk to do that deal. I just disagreed and gave my rationale. James Lofton was this age when he joined our super bowl teams and was supposedly washed up and he didn’t do too bad. Green put up close to the same yards last year in 9 games with Dalton than our leading receiver did in any of the last 3 or 4 for an entire 16 games. Sorry but you don’t overlook that kind of impact IMO. Since when does a second round pick derail your whole org??

Brady won’t retire until he wins his 7th super bowl. He and Belicheat are arrogant. They want or be able to say that they single handedly left the game winning more super bowls than any other total franchise had even won in any entire franchise history. That requires 7. So if the Pats won it this year, I believe he will retire. I fully believe that is why they went for Brown and why there is still talk about Gronk.

Green gives us the ability to beat the Patriots head to head IMO. Whether we could make the super bowl is based on injuries and a ton of other things. Ask the Eagles how they went from 9-7 to a super bowl the next year. The NFL isn’t obvious or linear. If you can keep pace with the Pats and somehow get a bye, anything can happen. Green is a top 5 WR. Since you like to ask questions, do you honestly think the 50th best player in the draft next year will be a top 5 WR? I don’t. No way Cinci gets a 1 for Green.

No risk no reward. Lets keep playing to be a wild card in a year with our best record in 30 years. Please promise never to apply for any management roles with any Buffalo sports team with that approach. It’s likely Green could sign here in 20 because of that type of a trade because of it. He would be our best receiver since Moulds and instantly make us a contender next year AND it would keep him away from the Pats or Indy.

The rumor was that the Bengals know he is only worth a 2nd with a conditional pick back from the receiving team based on games played. We would be idiots not to do that deal IF we beat Philly and stay within a game of the Pats. Go for winning the division and seek a bye. This year’s schedule in an anomaly, so you might as well take a shot for that low a payout. Next years free agent wideout class is basically limited to Green and Josh Gordon and then not much thereafter. Drafting a rookie Wr at 22 or higher isn’t a guarantee of a WR2 production next year either. We all know most WRs take 2 years to blossom and that is one more year of Josh’s low cost contract being wasted while we wait for WR production.
