I am curious how many guys drafted beyond round 1 actually get to start year 1 at center. It’s a big time communication rile so to me any rookie starting as a center has to be outright extraordinary.

There are about 20 FA Safeties out there. Once again Beane will wait and snag one at a great value. I don’t remember Poyer or Hyde being “top end” guys when we signed them way back when. They were identified as having higher potential. McD does one thing well, he develops quality safeties.

Last but not least they won’t be paying $17MM to a guy who played 8 of the last 40 games in Tre.(which meant he was being paid twice as much as Josh to not play) Next year they have cap space and can likely dump Von. They are transforming! I also expect the Knox redo was also meant to set him up for trade next year or possibly even during the draft.

The mark of a good leader is surrounding himself with quality people. Both Biden and Trump get brain farts because they are too old. The difference is Trump is PT Barnum. At the end of the day it’s hard for a ball player to take a string bean non athlete seriously as their coach. Players need to know you have been in the game catching bullets at some point, even if it was at a crappy college level.
