Thanks I appreciate that

I say a lot of dumb things.

That’s a 4:30game. I’m talking specifically about the 1:00 games. I’m in the Philly area and I’m trying to figure out if I’m gonna get the game or not.
-
I’d assume we are gonna get the CBS game of the week this week. Are there any other games that could top us?

Fan Fights During Game
billvernsays replied to Amarillo Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah the Giants fans certainly didn’t appreciate : 1) To see as many Bills fans as there was there 2) To lose the game. 3) Every time I mentioned how the Bills are the only real NY team. it was perfect recipe for angry drunks being mad at you for rooting for the only real NY team, boy they don’t like when you say that. Now looking back, it was a great Sunday -
I thought the same thing but I was wrong. We’d lose the common opponent tiebreaker only way we’d beat them out with the same record is if they lose to Miami or Cincy
-
Even if we win out and tie with a 13 - 3 record along with the Patriots we’re still going to be at best a 5th seed. Unless the Pats’ other loss is to Cinn or the Dolphins due to win % of common opponents. 13-3 5th seed seems wrong and It’s very possible it could happen.

Shaw perhaps. But I don’t think the issue is blocking the pocket looks clean but with the shallow set Allen takes, to an untrained eye, the pocket seems too congested.
-
I’m not trying to bash Josh Allen at all. I think he’s the future QB in Buffalo. I’m just making an observation which may explain why he’s not running as much this year as last year and when he does run why he doesn’t have as much space. (It also may be why his completion % is up and has made significant progress in the passing game) I thought this board was where we are supposed to bring our observations to discuss.
-
Gotcha. I agree. This could be as part of an effort to “get the ball out faster” but I think it limits his ability to a degree.
-
Ok so that’s what I’m getting at. My question is If it’s a system thing doesn’t that take away from his natural ability to take off and run as the rush lanes open up because with a 1 step drop there’s less space?
-
I started looking into this because it always seems he has the pocket collapsing on him even though our OLine is pretty good. When I watch other teams, even the ones I know our OLine is better than, I don’t see the pocket engulfing their QB as much.
-
Does anyone else notice that Josh Allen doesn’t drop-back and set in the pocket? the traditional 3, 5, and 7 steps drops are replaced with a stationary snap and fire, a minor 1 step shuffle, and a shuffle and a half. I love the guy and think he’s great but I’ve noticed other mobile QB’s take their 5 step drop which opens up running lanes for them. Could the Bills be doing this because they doesn’t like JA’s footwork?

I was excited for EJ as I’m excited about Josh Allen. The difference is context. Sure, Josh Allen tries to force the ball downfield too much at times but you always feel like we have a shot in the 4th quarter. EJ never gave me any confidence that he could convert a 3rd and 16, Neither did almost every QB we’ve had since Drew Bledsoe. Josh is different, he needs to learn want he can and can’t do. He’ll get there

Rewatching the Pats game # 2 last year
billvernsays replied to billvernsays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not exactly. I think the odds makers will know that 2 very good defenses are playing each other and that will be the narrative which in turn will push the over/under DOWN. The reality is the Bills and the Pats have played some BAD offenses each of the past 3 weeks. Me saying the game will go over doesn’t mean it’ll be a high scoring affair it just needs to get over the line Vegas thinks will get even money on the game. I believe it’s will be lower than the reality which is why you should buck the trend and go against the public narrative. Bills and the Over Baby!! -
A few thoughts from the game: It wasn’t as bad as I remembered. In fact if a few plays go our way (E.G. Robert foster catches the BOMB Allen threw him very early in the game, Hosch-$$$ drills that 43 yarder on the following possession, then we kick a FG instead of going for it on 4 and 3 prior to halftime, Croom doesn’t fumble inside the Pats 5 yard line) and we are very much in that game. Add in our crowd instead of their home field advantage, the additions we made to our OLine and WR Corps and I think the -7 spread is honestly a bit high. Gimme the Bills and the over. The key to the game will be how we defend their running game.

Hes only played FCS football for 2 years. I think with a legit NFL WR coach he could turn into something special. -

Obviously Bryant University is in the Pats backyard so it makes sense if they were the only NFL team to have a scout at the pro day there. I’m just saying the Pats scout was blown away with those numbers and made him do the drills multiple times because he was in disbelief of the numbers. This kid is going to play in the league priority UDFA or not. I just wanted to pass the information on. -

Yeah this past year he was injured to start the year. Last year, his 1st year playing FCS football, he had 12 TDS in 11 games to lead his division. He’s obviously healthly now with those pro day numbers. -

Hopefully the Bills do their homework, he’s a process guy. He’s gonna be in the league. I hope it’s with us. -

Yeah he can play. He went to college for lacrosse but played football his last year or two. The 3 cone is more more like game speed than the 40. Both of TKs 3 cone times would have led the combine for WRs. -
