The Pats have 4 turnovers & you only manage to be winning by 6 points at home? This offense is still broken.

That's not how you win games. Stop killing your team.

This is a thing I've often thought about, and so many things about that scenario just feel surreal. Like after decades of idoliznig those Bills teams of old, a single Super Bowl win would skyrocket a bunch of players permanently above those 80's-90's era legends. Bruce, Jimbo, Thurman, Reed, Lofton, Levy, Talley, Tasker, etc. all Bills icons, but Allen, Diggs, Cook, Von, Oliver, Hyde, Poyer, Bernard, Gabe, McDermott, etc. would have earned our first Lombardi. People would have their debates saying Bruce or Thomas were better individual players, but ultimately a SB win creates a new group of legends for this generation. They'll become the new go-to players that future fans will tell their kids about.

Last time the bills played on my birthday!
BigDingus replied to BruceVilanch's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey, thanks for reminding me! It's my mom's birthday too, and I forgot back then we were out for dinner, and the restaurant had the Bengals game on in the background. I nearly knocked our table over jumping up cheering 😂 Here's to hoping we have similar luck this year. Happy birthday, hope it's a great one! -

He's just so fast that he may still just blow right by the coverage 😅 -
Week 17 - Cheats v. Bills - PREDICT THE SCORE
BigDingus replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
30-23 Bills The Pats are 2-2 in their last 4 games, with both wins coming on the road against the Steelers & Broncos. If we don't turn it over, the score won't be nearly as close. -
Remember years ago when we had nothing to play for, then KO'd the Fitzpatrick Jets from getting in the playoffs? Even though we have Miami after this, it'd still feel the same way... Hard to imagine winning in the playoffs if the Pats sweep us 😅

JA can earn an extra $5 million this year by doing this

No wonder we haven't won a SB yet... He's taking advantage of our Applebee's & low standards! -

He can earn free food & drinks for LIFE in Western New York if he can win a SB. So how much is that worth? 🙃 -
Who in the AFC would teams rather not see in the playoffs?
BigDingus replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everyone is correct about the Browns/Flacco turning it over a lot, but the Browns defense is good at mitigating/balancing things out. In the last 4 games: Browns - 3 turnovers / Jags - 4 turnovers Browns - 3 turnovers / Bears - 3 turnovers Browns - 2 turnovers / Texans - 2 turnovers Browns - 3 turnovers / Jets - 2 turnovers Granted, none of the last 4 teams are great, but it does show the Browns are very opportunistic. If the Bills went on the road & turned it over 2-3 times against this team, it's very unlikely they would win. Aside from the Browns, the Bills are a mixed bag on the road in general. There's not a specific team I'd be most worried about, but the Bills are 7-1 this year when they limit themselves to 1 or 0 turnovers. -
NFL Maps and Broadcast Schedule: Week 17 2023 (December 31)

Guess I'm stuck watching Miami vs Baltimore this week. Buffalo... I'm trusting you here! Just because I take my eyes off of you for one game, doesn't mean you can go out partying & acting all willy nilly with your playoff hopes! -
What Bills Christmas presents did you get?

Exactly! The NFL only cares about having more TOTAL viewers. LA's 12% household viewership still provided nearly 68,000 more households than if 100% of the Buffalo market had tuned in. I agree with the OP in that the Chargers would've been better served had they been the ones moving to Vegas, but in reality they had a solid existing fanbase & decent sized market in San Diego to begin with. San Diego is the 30th ranked TV media market in North America (with 1,122,930 households & about 3.1 million viewers), ranking above other markets like Kansas City, Buffalo, Cincinnati, New Orleans, etc. and just one spot below Baltimore. Not the largest market, but at least they sold out home games & were a priority to their market.

But that's what I'm saying, you don't punt on 3rd down... so the idea of an "arm punt" makes no sense. Yes, you would prefer to run any other play & hope for a better outcome. Even a checkdown can result in missed tackles or 10+ yards... even a penalty can get you a new set of downs. Perhaps you end up just short & decide it's worth going for it (even on your side of the 50). There was that long stretch with Dorsey where the Bills ranked #1 in EPA solely because of how good they were at getting out of terrible field position. They often started drives backed up inside their own 20, but consistently made it to the opponent's side of the field. Problem was they'd immediately stall out from there & be forced to punt. But an "arm punt" on 3rd down, especially from midfield or inside your opponent's territory, is a huge waste. Better to try & get close enough to go for it on 4th down, draw a penalty, or anything other than just give up posession a play earlier than normal.
-
"Arm punts" aren't a real thing... unless teams start consistently punting on 3rd down. The only time it's almost acceptable is when you're out of timeouts, barely any time left on the clock, right before half time, and you're out of options. Otherwise, better to try anything else that can get you a new set of downs (again, unless there's little time left & you don't have timeouts).

The reason I did it is because I'm showing you what social media dialogue is like, and it's not something you even have to dig for. I could do the same on Twitter or anywhere else. You literally can't bring up Josh without a bunch of people instantly mocking the idea (unless you're on a Bills-related video/article). It's very much the narrative & perception among general fans that 1) he turns over the ball too much & 2) the Bills haven't been successful enough. If the Bills can win out & Josh can somehow string together 2 games without a turnover, there might be a larger movement in his favor. But please, just search "NFL MVP" on any platform, look at any poll, and you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
-
Yeah, that's basically still the perception. Not the missing the playoffs part, but using turnovers (and the team's record) against Allen is pretty much what I see in the comments under any video discussing the topic. I just screen grabbed a handful of comments under some YT videos discussing MVP, and the best you'll get is a Bills fan suggesting Allen should win, followed by a bunch of responses mocking his turnovers.
-
Let's be real, it's because of other reasons we hate them... 1) They made the SB before we did 2) Everyone in the media hopped off the Allen bandwagon & positioned Joe as the #2 behind Mahomes 3) Embarassed us at home in the playoffs, then talked smack about it 4) Beat us again this year, proving to most fans they're better than us when healthy If they hadn't become so successful, we probably wouldn't care what they say about anyone... especially not the Chiefs.

1. CMC 2. Lamar 3. Tyreek 4. Josh 5. Purdy (yes, still) That's after week 16. Things could change in the next 2 weeks, but that's my current ranking.
