Stay at 28 draft Leggette if you want to take a flyier on Burks.
-
Jefferson, Aj Brown, Dk Metcalf, Devonte Adams all went around or after Buffalos pick. Wrs are situation depended. Buffalo will be one of the greatest situation a rookie wr will enter. Paying a kings ransom for a Wr isnt ideal imo. Use the extra 2nd next year? Sure, but outside of that im not digging too deep. I think worst case they will have a solid wr at 28 one that would be graded higher than any of the wrs drafted in rd 1 last season.

I have felt that way too. Maybe Allen sways it. Toughest choice is Mitchell vs Leggette imo. Mitchell has what your looking for but not the production. Leggette is older and his 1 season is still one of the best seasons in the class in the SEC with the most talent in the secondary of any conference. Wr now being an immediate need vs a chance to come along slowly you may take the dip in potential for a bump in immediate impact. Aj Brown is still a heck of alot of potential.

What are the issues? He transferred to Alabama and pissed off Georgia? Punched a fan in a field storming situation. Is that it? I hear off the field but never details into what. Makes me think its more draft speak than real.

Basically, they need a player that can line up outside on the line more than 50% of the time. Easiest thought process is that a big body wr does it best. And adds jump ball capabilities. Reality is there are multiple ways to win outside and size is the least effective way. Lets look at an extreme example. Cole Beasley. He excelled in the slot because of his quickness and route running. Why he didnt excel outside because after the initial burst he didnt posses the speed to run away from coverage. Desean Jackson wasnt much bigger but his speed allowed him to operate outside. Michael Thomas and Marquise Colston where large bodies but similar to Beasley didnt have the speed so where more effective in the slot. Harrison, Nabers, Udunze, Thomas Jr, Mitchell, and Leggette all have the average or above average Height and weight while also having the speed and explosion to threaten deep. My concern is getting stuck on size and missing the second part which is explosion and speed.

With the 65th pick the Carolina Panthers select Ruke Orhorhoro, Defensive Line, Clemson. @gonzo1105 is now on the clock. I like Orhorhoro a lot. I think he can play anywhere across the dline. Big, athletic ass kicker on the dline. Late to football so still has plenty upside. I labeled him a DL not DT because I think he could be a power edge not just a 3 tech. I see Micheal Bennett as a comp. Worthy, Frazier, and Orhorhoro is a very good haul for Carolina. BPA matched need.

I dont think I will do another mock. Too many small school guys but like their traits and Mcbeane isn't afraid of it with most years having 1 or 2.
-
I cant get behind it with his injury history and lack of production in round 1. His negative is frame and by missing games emphasizes it imo.

Larry Fitz was an animal in college in the early 2000’s not the modern passing game. As a redshirt freshman had 1000 yards and 12 tds and followed that up with 1600 yards and 22 Tds. When has Coleman ever done that? Tape, production than athletic profile. His athletic profile doesn't disqualify him but it validates by he wasn't consistent or dominant.

Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
Mat68 replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
What they were absolutely. What they are now probably not. Thats why they made the moves they did. They were the pillars for ending the streak for the most part. They are either battling injuries or north of 30 now. -
Who should the Bills draft at 60 in the TSW community mock draft v1.0
Mat68 replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
I see that path with Jenkins. Will play similar snaps to Jones and Oliver immediately. With Jones at 32 years old he would also be the replacement at 1 tech. Fiske would mainly be a rotational player for me because he would be behind Oliver. In a perfect world you sub Fiske in on passing downs but with tempo and modern football easier said than done imo. -

I went Jenkins. In the short he term can play behind Oliver at 3 tech in rotation. I think in a year or 2 in the scheme can play beside Oliver at 1 tech. I dont see that same versatility in Fiske. As a 3 tech Fiske has more potential but isnt Ed Oliver. Moving forward what is the plan at 1 tech. Jenkins would answer that question and be the 3rd guy in the rotation behind both players. Fiske imo would be more behind depth behind Oliver with Johnson and Williams behind Jones. -
Listen to Cosell and Simms. He no longer threatened defenses deep. They were able to sit on his underneath route tree more. Still a good player but no longer elite.

Do you think Allen feels relief after the Diggs trade?
Mat68 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen got a gorilla off his back. Diggs was positioned to receive his lowest target share and count in his for years in Buffalo. The film and analytics point to a declining player. His contract paired with his attitude made the move the obvious one. Consider similar aged wrs could gain more than a 4th a likely top 40 or 50 pick made too much sense. -
I think Rb or Cb at 128.
-
Yes on paper they are not as good. Without any of the drama, he no longer threatens a defense deep. He is paid as a top 5 wr. That he is no longer. His targets were going to go down this year. Now how would Diggs respond to a drop in his targets for the betterment of the team? Its alot of small things that adds up to doing it now. Bring in some younger guys and a rookie or 2 and I think the offense can be as good or better than last year.

Media coverage of Diggs trade before and after
Mat68 replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall
Imo it was 50/50 money and wanting to be elsewhere on Diggs end. This was the last year of guaranteed money but also locked in for 4 more years. He forced a trade and was not welcomed with a bunch of new money when he arrived in Hou. They took off the years so Diggs wouldnt be a problem. Basically, to get the money you are asking for you have a year to show out and get it here or elsewhere. Take the off the field stuff out of it. He is top 5 in the league in targets and pay. The offense was more efficient and better overall when not feeding Diggs targets. Going forward the offense would be funneled through Kincaid, Shakir and Cook due to their catch % and Allens rating when targeting them. So now if Diggs is not getting 160 targets but closer to 100 his production will go down. He will still be good but not elite. Sprinkle that in with everything else off field I think trading is the best option. Dead cap is for money already paid to him. Is he worth another 25 mil this year of new money they will pay him? I think the conclusion was no. Would Diggs make thing tougher for everyone around him if he was not the main read on most plays? After the win streak to win the division and make the playoffs, after the season he was still questioning the change of philosophy mid way through the year pointed to I was a pacing career but I dont know what changed and why. -
Calling it now: You're all about to witness the arrival of Shakir
Mat68 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Shakir, Kincaid and Cook will be the primary attack. Allen was the most efficient while targeting them. I could see a break out year for Shakir and Kincaid. -
So You Need to Move Diggs..Why the Texans??
Mat68 replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that was a remedy to Diggs wanting more money. The deal looks better today imo . -
Marvin Harrison Jr wants to be a Bill
Mat68 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Im not sending Knox after losing Diggs and Davis. TE is a position of strength I would not weaken it. -

Slight move up, stay put, maybe wr trade. -
With the 39th pick the Carolina Panthers select Zach Frazier, Center, West Virginia. @Alphadawg7 is now on the clock. Center is a gaping hole was a consideration at 33. With a small qb interior oline is vital imo. Frazier would be a home run.
-
If he isnt top 5 in the league, thats alot of money and head pain.

2nd rder was too high to pass up. Similar trades are mid round picks at best. -
Mine aswell. That offense needs alot. Both thier lines need alot. They should trade out having another pick in the 30’s. If on the clock I dont see Tepper passing on Worthy for alot of non football reasons. Ie buzz and ticket sales.
