If Mccargo was a 3rd rd pick his career would be perceived different. 6 year NFL career but didn't meet his potential. Sounds like numerous 3rd rd picks. Trading up for him in Rd 1 was the problem.

If you make the swing it is for Ayuik. Young productive player. With big play ability. He would cost a lot to trade for and pay.

Gregg Cosell and Chris Simms. Using them because they are the known film watchers out of the media talking heads. Both said last season teams stopped playing Diggs like a top 10 wr. They were not double teaming him or worried about him getting deep. Shakir will be defended differently but is versatile to be moved around and may or may not be the primary read on any given play.

I think this is the best way. If the offense clicks with the young guys no need to make that size of commitment to the position. With Miller aging and Douglas on an expiring deal I think the hold there assets for a need. If the offense needs a boost and wr is a hole pull the trigger. If they can find cheap weapons they use those resources elsewhere.

With Chiefs V Ravens I can see Buffalo V San Fran as another primetime game. They could go 49ers v Lions. Still think Texans Bills is a primetime game early in the year.

Think of what Emmanuel Sanders was mixed with Mckenzie. Samuel is very good historically vs man coverage. Runs a full route tree. Also, in college was the Percy Harvin role in Urban Myers offense at OSU. Can line up in the backfield and take handoffs, jet sweeps or any creative way you can think of. His best season was with Brady in Carolina. Over 800 yards recieving had over 1,000 scrimmage yards including his rushing. He isnt a superstar but capable number 2 wr with speed and comfortable running the ball. I think there is a correlation in your belief in Shakir, and perceived need to trade for a proven Wr. Like you I think Shakir is prime for a break out year. I dont expect Buffalo to make any splash moves because of this.

This is the chart I saw early in the off season. You can see what Buffalo is doing. They are creating the offense around Shakir, Kincaid and Cook. All of them in there first or second years. They caught the ball and produce with 3rd 4th 5th targets in the offense. Went on their run when they were larger pieces of the game plan. Obviously, Shakir may see a dip in efficiency but I don't see it falling off completely. Samuel, Hollins, Coleman all fit in around them.

Wr is getting similar discourse as Linebacker last season. I think Shakir has the chance to be top targeted Wr in the offense. In Allens career that player had alot of success. Brown, Beasley, Diggs all had career years with Allen. I think Shakir has a year similar to Browns 2019. 70 plus catches over 1,000 yards close to 10 TDs. Benard stepped in and on day 1 there wasn't much a drop off from Edmunds. I think Shakir has the same effect on the offense. Will have a shockingly small drop off from Diggs.

Josh Allen is a weapon. Sneaks at an incredible high rate. I think you use Allens running ability late as possible. Playoffs, Division, or seed purposes. I can’t think of a reason to call a designed run before the first snowfall of the season. Use Davis, Johnson, Cook whoever before than. An occasional sneak sure. Allen scrambles sure. Allen power right on 2nd and 7 from the 35 no thank you.

Fourth and goal from the 1. Give me Davis any day of the week over Guerendo or Brelon Allen. I assume by size and speed those would be better choices? In a vacuum size sure its better. Neither were great at it in college. Davis excelled at it in the SEC. Davis is the better all around runner without the extra rocket up his ass. If Davis was as big and fast as either Guerendo or Allen he is a fringe first rounder. If Allen or Guerendo were Davis size and speed they may go undrafted. Singletary is an NFL back. People can be scared because of Singletary and Moss but both have proven to be solid NFL running backs. Imo Davis is better than both.

Cook , Shakir, and Samuel are all good options for the screen fame too.

Davis is a suitable goal line and short yardage back. I dont think you understand how stalky 5’8 215 is.

Back at the gates in the playoffs vs Mahomes. I think they beat em and win it all. I like the offense and defense and how they match up vs KC and Cinncy. With Allen its on Beane and the team to get to gates. It is on Allen to figure out how to get past them imo.

They are not worst than that team. They have better depth on defense than that team. Depth was what costed them in playoffs vs KC.

What wr 3 gets 80 catches and 1,000 yards?

This is how I see it. That happens I think Shakir is more productive than many. If Buffalo brought in a 1,000 yard wr is any that concerned about the wr room? I posted the question to see if its a position thing. He is a slot so not a number 1 etc. Or unable to project his usage with larger volume. He was third wr last year and will continue being that. If Shakir gets a tic more volume 5-6 targets a game he is going to be all over 1,000. If he does that is anyone questioning the offense. I think if healthy that is going to be the case. At minimum I think that is how Buffalo sees it going into the year. Those saying he is a compliment would that be compliment numbers? If you felt strongly Shakir could get 80 or so catches 1,000 so yards would you still trade for which ever wr is available?

Do you see him as a 50 to 60 targets guy or do you think he can be more than that?

I understand in 11 he is on the field. In terms of target share. Is he 3rd in the wr room? Or closer to 1.

Shakir doesn't have less than Ideal athleticism... I was using St Brown as a style of wr described. What makes Shakir a compliment? His alignment? St. Brown is primary slot with very good yac ability? Im not saying Shakir is going to be St Brown. I do think the team will use him more than many expect with the amount of targets available. Entering his 3rd year I think he will be given every opportunity to have a big role.

Which part? If you pessimistic about Shakir your vision of the 2024 offense is low. Or Shakir’s usage the last 11 games applied over a complete season?

That is St. Brown. I think Shakir gets a similar role. Im not saying get him 160 targets. 80 to 100 is reasonable with the amount that have left.

I think get some of the Z where Diggs operated. We are only talking about 2-3 more targets a game puts Shakir in a spot to get to 80 and 1,000. I think the error they made with Gabe was giving volume to an inefficient player.

Eason is interesting. Dont have much behind Allen. Could be a camp arm at worst. Possible PS at best.

Your opinion of Khalil Shakir is your opinion of the 24 Buffalo Bills offense. Will Shakir develop into a starting wr and a feature of the passing attack or be a nice role player? If you think he can be a feature of the offense then your overall expectations for 24 are still high. If he is just a nice slot guy your hoping for a massive trade. You feel the offense is subpar and a major concern moving forward. Shakir had a year of a nice third guy. 39 catches 611 yards. He was not used the first 6 weeks. Only received 5 targets and 4 catches. You take his usage from week 7 to 18 over a full season thats 52 catches for 882. Doesnt knock your socks off but you can see why he would be looked at a bit differently. There are alot of targets available 160 from Diggs and 81 from Davis. They were also highly inefficient players. Diggs catch % last year was 66 and Davis was 55. Shakir was at 85. In general Shakir made the most of his opportunities. I do not see him getting Diggs work load. I dont see any weapon getting that. I think Shakir will be used a tick more than he was down the stretch. I think he has a chance at being a 1,000 yard receiver and I dont think it is that much of an ask. If you see Shakir as a possible 80 catch 1,000 yard guy your not hanging your hopes on a big time trade. Worked with Cook. Worked with Benard. I think it works with Shakir.

Standard still the standard. When Buffalo went on the winning streak only a few starters are not back. More importantly only a few players from outside the organization are looking to start. Offense Morse, Davis and Diggs. Edwards and Mcgovern the change on the oline. Edwards, new to the line up but played and knows the system. Shakir for diggs or Davis. Played a lot down the stretch. So you have only Coleman or Samuel starting who wasnt on the team last year. Defense starter lost Floyd and Poyer from the line up. Miller and Eponesa been on the team for years. Only new starter to the defense will be Bishop or Edwards. It seems like a massive over haul. In reality the amount of players brought in from outside the organization to start is some of the least in the NFL. The top 2 picks Coleman and Bishop are competing with higher quality free agents brought in Samuel and Edwards for the open starting spot. Which ever player wins the other will be a package player and see the field a lot. Looking at the overall roster and what they were in December and January its impressive. Shaving all that cap gaining future assets but also maintaining the majority of the line up. Offense and defense both shifted last season. The organization embraced it and got younger.
