D&C's Maiorana: Zay Is Struggling But Remains Confident
Mat68 replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would be more concerned if he has been invisible. Unfortunately, he is dropping the ball. Once Taylor and him get on the same page I really think Zay blows up. He is getting open and getting separation which is usually the hardest thing for a rookie to do. This week would be the time to do it. -
Spotlight on Rookie Matt Milano at WLB this Week
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can he make the one on one tackle vs NFL runningbacks. That is going to story here. If he struggles I could see them going to the guy from the CFL. -
5. Hoping Dareus turns it on. I dont know if he has the ability anymore.

Odell Beckham. One of the most dynamic players with the ball in hands I have seen.

The past few years even during some good stretches they were negative. However, they were always proved right. Idk if it Buffalo is truely good or they had just severly low expectations Buffalos play seems better than it is. Either Buffalo seems to have found a winning formula.

McD's worst decision this year...
Mat68 replied to re enlightener's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Back up running backs are a dime a dozen. Wont be surprised to see jones get a few touches. His speed adds a dimension. Baynard could be serviceable if needed. If something happens with Mccoy they can find a guy on the street or on a practice squad that could be as or more productive than Williams would have been, -
It is very simple. Taylor should be our QB until someone comes along and plays better. Not has more potential, not has a better contract, simply a better pro QB. Competition breads greatness. Alex Smith made 2 significant leaps in play in his career. When Kaepernick looked like a legit threat, and so far this year when they drafted Mahomes who has a cannon and will throw it all over the field. I dont think it is a coincidence that he has had his most success throwing down the filed the year Reid found him a QB he traded up 20 spots for. If Taylor continues to play the way he has maybe an early QB draft choice will spurn a change in Taylor.

Andy Benoit: Should We Believe in the Buffalo Bills?
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not saying it is. However, top defense with ball control run heavy offense is what has won since forever. Even now. Talent and name recognition is one thing If Buffalo maintains have a top 5 defense its a mute point. Top 5 defense and a ball control offense that can make a handful of big plays is sustainable winning football. KC, Seattle, Denver, Carolina, all have been doing it for a few years now. Before the nicknames, No fly zone, Legion of Boom they were solid units. -

This is the exact style Seattle utilized to win a Superbowl and multiple NFC titles. The whole this style hasn't been effective is in accurate. Brady, Brees, Rodgers, get all the press but Denver and Seattle have been involved in numerous superbowls the last 5 years. You could even put Carolina into that as well. -
McD: Dareus in competition with Thornton for starting role
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Idk coaches are all arrogant enough to think they are the guy that get him going. A team with some cap space and buffalo agrees to eat some of it I think it could get down. He is still a rare bird and one of the few DT's with the ability to pressure the passer. -
Are we sacrificing the run for the pass?
Mat68 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Stretch zone takes some time. They are pulling some as well. The stretch set up the pass so well. As a defense you have to avoid creating a cut back for Mccoy So the back side defenders has to give some contain and then Taylor is open on the roll out to make a play. It looked better last week and that needs to continue this week. -
McD: Dareus in competition with Thornton for starting role
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Tthorton beats out Darues any chance they trade him after the game? Parlay him into picks or picks and a wr? It seems Daures is the last guy to get on the "Bus". With his loads of potential I think Mcdermott is being more patient with him because of his massive deal as well. Could they find a trade partner mid-season? Would anyone take on that contract? I think if Thorton takes his job he needs to go. -
Baynard gets the the carries, Tawain Jones get some pass thrown to him.

LA Ratings for Dolphins-Saints > Chargers-Eagles game
Mat68 replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Raiders are playing well when they get to LV they will get supported. I dont think a team can fit a city like the Raiders and Las Vegas they go together. And sure they will fill the stadium even if its with help from other teams. -
Deshawn Watson is better then Tyrod. Yes I said it
Mat68 replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watson entered probably the best situation a rookie QB could ask for. Decent run game, good wrs, and dominate D. I still do not understand how Savage was gifted the job. That team would be much better if Watson was the guy since the preseason. -
Beating Bengals would be more impressive than last two.
Mat68 replied to webtoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wont say more impressive, but probably more important. -
"Trap Games" DO NOT EXIST!!! Conclusive Proof
Mat68 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are many factors. Imo this past weekend they gained some national attention. They lost 2 starters in the process. Cinncy is better than their record indicates. On the road Vegas has them dogs for a reason. It is 100% a possible let down/ trap game. Now did Buffalo prepare any less vs Cincy than they did for Denver or ATL? Probably not, so its more a trap game for fans, ot taking the bengals lightly im sure the team is not. -
The toughest games are NE and KC. If they go into the Bye 4-1 they will be favored in 7 or 8 of the final 11 games. Imo the Schedule is not that difficult the rest of the way. If they remain relatively healthy there is a strong possibility they push into a playoff spot. Oak may not have Carr, Jamies Winston is not the same QB on the road, NO defense can be run on, Jets and Miami are going to get worst as the season carries on, and the Chargers are going to be in contention for the worst record in the league.

Week 5: Bengals' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No easy games. This would be a place for a let down game. Tough home and road wins and lose on the road before the bye would be a very Bills move. Pressure Dalton and he makes mistakes. Im worried about the run defense and offense passing attack. -
He will do ok. They have weapons. The run game better get going though.
-
Seems he struggles in more exotic schemes. Same thing happened here. Ive never like guys who have players run through their zones unnoticed and when the ball is thrown looks back inside at the saftey. He did that 5 times last year. Now he is doing that in NE.
-
If he didnt want to be here after a week why welcome him back? Because, we look good now? He was not the player he was. He struggled to get open in preseason I say no. I think Philly Brown can do enough and sure handed enough to minimize the loss of Matthews. To me the Wr group for the next month comes down to is Buffalo able to get Zay Jones some confidence. We do that he could be our #1 real quick. The reason for my optimism is the simple fact that a rookie Wr normally struggles with separation. So far that has not been the case. He is a natural catcher so Imo it will only a matter of time.

Target TY Hilton? Other options at WR?
Mat68 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have a bye so bringing in outside help would be for Tampa not really Cincy. I think it is going to come down to what the time table is with Matthews. If he is only going to miss a few weeks I dont expect them to make a move. If its a month or more than I can see them targeting a Wr on a different roster. -
Andy Reid's Principals spill over to Bills
Mat68 replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its the NFL every game is important. Seems like its easy to say this is the most important game of the year this week, every week. Imo this is more crucial than winning in ATL. I thought winning at ATL would be the best win for some national recognition but conference road games are much more important for seeding and standing purposes at the end of the year. The Bengals have a good amount of weapons. There weakness has been their O line. They have a stingy defense as well. Zay is going to have to make a few plays down the field for the Bills to win. He is getting open a good amount but this week he needs to make the big plays that Matthews has been good for this year. -
It comes down to the young guys taking a step up in production. Matt Malano and Zay Jones are going to have to start making plays. Zay has had some striggles thus far, with Matthews out can he step up and make plays? He is getting open he needs to make the plays through the catch.
