  1. Run the ball down their throats. Stop them from running the ball down ours. More likley than not they can win if they do that. Their front 7 is nothing special. Tom Brady is great but in the cold make him pass it 50 times.
  2. Superbowl with Flacco too.
  3. Go get a franchise QB. Even by doing so they still have load of cap space and enough draft picks were they will still draft 5 or 6 players. They should be able to walk away from the draft with a Franchise potential Qb, 2 quality starters and 2 or more depth adds. That is still a very good draft.
  4. The whole tank thing and need was avoided by making the moves they made in training camp. They have the ability to move up to nearly any position in the draft if a team is looking for a trade. They have the Capital to either have a full draft of prospects with a trade. Or it it all this year and have a full compliment of picks for 2019 as well. They do not have a Franchise Qb on the roster. Not even one who can potential be. Now is the year they have to fix that. They ammo and cap space allows them to figure that out. Hell they like cousins sign him and use the picks to build a team around him. They have options this year they just have to make a move and hope it works out. Getting a Franchise QB is the only way to stabilize a franchise.
  5. A year or 2 of Manning while a rookie develops would be the best QB situation since they wasted Bledsoe and Losman. maybe catch lightening in a bottle like Arizona with Warner or Manning in Denver. I could think of alot worst this to do at Qb. They would have the cap space to bring him in and fix the front 7. Draft a Qb to develop behind him and set up the Franchise for a continued winning formula.
  6. Dont believe the hype. If you come into this game expecting to shut down Brady you are mistaken. He has not been active for 3 weeks now, but after watching the Jets and Saints games I expect a heavy does of Gillislee. Its a Bill thing to do anyways. Play the guy we let go to them. They are going to try and run the ball and wear out the defense. Imo you make them 1 dimesional and force Brady to drop back 40 plus times, and hopefully do enough to get pressure on him and get a turnover.
  7. If Taylor has to throw the ball enough times to make it to 300 yards that is not a good sign for this football team. Perfect world Buffalo rushes for nearly 200 yards Taylor passes under 30 times ends up in the mid to low 200s and Buffalo get a surprising win and controls both lines of scrimmage all game. That is recipe for success. That does not happen than that mean the running game is stymied and the Patriots are moving the Ball with precision and the defense is looking more and more desprate as the game continues. Buffalo is down by 10 plus at halftime and Tyrod needs to ball out in the second half to keep it respectable. Buffalo will not beat the Patriot in a shoot out.
  8. All I know is more often than not these late in the season scenarios seemed to fall into Buffalo's lap but they never take care of there own business for it to matter. Lets get to 9 plus wins first before we go through the gymnastics to figure it out.
  9. If they win this weekend I would agree with you. Beating a KC team that is falling apart after that 3 game stretch doesn't completely right the ship. This weekend will be a good indication of where Mcdermott has the football team. If they get the brakes beaten off of them than this team is no better than the hand full of middling teams we have had over the last 17 years. Playing the Pats close this late in the year would give me optimism that they can play with anybody and possibly win the games needed down the stretch to steel a playoff spot. Beating Ne would be a huge feather in Mcdermotts cap. Buffalo would quickly become a favorite to get into the playoffs. Even if the team came up short of the playoffs a win Sunday grants him faith that he may be equipped to right this franchise. Imo it the equivalent of Michigan beating Ohio St or Auburn beating Alabama. Beating the Patriots when it matters most buys Mcdermott a lot of time with the fan base to build this franchise. Beating the Patriots in December is extremely difficult. Billicheck has the highest winning % of any coach in NFL history in December.
  10. They have enough to move into the top 5 if they wanted.
  11. This is widely inaccurate. The last 2 years there have been 4 trades to move up. The largest was for Geof 15 to 1. that took 2016 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 2017 1st and 3rd. Buffalo could do this same trade. Still have the #1 overall the lower of their natural pick and KC in the first and a second rd pick. All they would miss out on would be no third rd pick this year but will still have over 7 draft picks with no other moves. Or if you dont want to kick the can. you could throw in both this years number 1s and forgo next years picks. They have the the ammo to move up if the team doesn't want the Qb too.
  12. He was not the long term fit at Mike. That player is not on the roster. I expect a rangy baker drafted and a possible Fa signing. I still would like to see Milano on the field more. He is becoming a very good player. He made a few plays behind the line of scrimmage yesterday. He could become the Will full-time here sooner than later.
  13. He is doing for the passing game what Madden once did for the running game. If someone does not understand coverage he can point out how easy the game can be played. Romo's mind got him on the field in the NFL. He provides good insight that is not normally talked about during the game. As someone that really enjoys and understands football a good bit I enjoy having the schematic aspects of the game analysed. Its one thing to say it was a great throw, great catch or great play., but talking about how the defense is aligned and where the offense needs to attack speaks to me more. With out a doubt he could have coached in the NFL if he choose to,
  14. How did those plays end up?
  15. This is the toughest game of the year. I liken this game or the two games vs the Patriots as the head coach barometer. No different than college football. This past weekend there were rivalry games. Gus Malzann did win a NC but he is bullet proof at Auburn cause he can beat Alabama. On the other hand Harbaugh needs to beat Ohio St if he is not contending for titles. Yes this is not a rivalry because its has been so one sided the past years, but these are the biggest games we have every year. Its a playoff caliber game. Its a game that historically turns Buffalo's Cinderella seasons into pumpkins, and usually by halftime. The Bills teams historically look either out coached or too emotional to ever take advantage of opportunities when they arise in the game. I am interested to see what the Bills look like on Sunday. If Buffalo wins it will shift perception and trajectory of the season. they play close I will still give them a chance down the stretch. I expect as do most that this game gets ugly and this team is no different than the last 5 years teams. Good enough to beat good teams, inconsistent enough to lose to poor teams, and not at the next level of play with elite teams to contend for championships.
  16. How did those play end up? I didn't notice so it is a honest question.
  17. He is who he is. That was a typical Taylor performance. That paired with good defense is a winning propitiation more often than not. This week that will not result in a win. A good defensive effort is keeping the Pats under 30. The offensive is going to have be aggressive. Play action heavy on first down. Taylor will need to play to best of his abilities.
  18. The saftey is all over that pass. Clay isnt open until the saftey flipped his hips to chase down the pass.
  19. Buffalo has plenty cap space and loads of picks. The roster will be flipped again this year, and they will get much younger and on Defense more athletic. Beane and Mcdermott will have a near blank canvas to build the roster how they choose.
  20. Watson is better passer from the pocket. Idk how good a qb Jackson will be, bit with the unimaganative offense with Taylor I dont think they would be good fits with Jackson. Idk about Mayfield.
  21. Taylors performance was the worst possible conservative football. The game kept falling further and further away and his demenor stayed the same uninterested way. Obviously, Peterman was terrible in worst possible aggresive way. Taylors performance was worth sitting, thinking Peterman was better was the mistake. Now its game day. Kc went from class of the AFC to a middling team. For Buffalo to win Taylor needs to play great. Like the Miami and Seattle game last year. Those were both loses so who knows.
  22. Right. By pro style I mean I formations 2 Rbs 2 Wrs and Te with a Qb under center. The Defenses are just too quick and sophisticated for that to be a reliable offense. Now it is still important for short yardage and 5 min offense. Overall, the offenses are moving towards 3 pass catchers 1 inline Te and a running back. Offers better versatility to better determine the best match up. Colleges and Chip Kelly had very good theories about offense and tempo. Modern offense is about versatility and match ups. Get guys in one on one situations that favor you is the way to succeed.
  23. I think it is more the caliber of player. Air Raid has been utilized for the most part at smaller schools. If the Qb has the size and arm talent it doesn't matter where you you play or what offense Wentz, Flacco,, Leftwich, Pennigton and this year Mahomes are examples all are not air raid like 2000s Cal or Texas Tech but schools that threw the rock all over . Now look at Keenum similar style offense put up much better numbers probably one of if not the top college Qb of all time numbers wise. He is small by NFL standards and has an ok arm not flashy or special that is why he was drafted late. Can he stay healthy and have the natural talent to succeed in less than optimum postions. Both similar offense one has better numbers but the Players with better Physical traits were drafted higher. Than you have Cal under Tedford who recruited 2 Qbs with decent NFL size and complete cannons for arms. One is Kyle Boller the other is Aaron Rodgers. Mainly Air Raid style of offense production doesn't translate to the NFL they have put up video game type numbers over the years. 10 years ago it was risky. You have to groom the QB to the NFL game and style. Now you really have the best success grooming your offense to the player. Look at KC you dont think Alex smith sees the writing on the wall with the style of offense Kc is using. Similar to college spread and a style that completely matches Mahomes comfort level? Its a passing league, with exotic and fast defenses. The Olines are poor but thier are rules in place that flip the balance to offense. Simplest way to pass. Start your Qb away from the line and spread the defense to limit what they can disguise do. The pro style offense is dying in the pros as well as in college.
  24. Sam Bradford passes a physical can most likely make it though training camp and than who knows what happens. Actualy injury may be the easiest way of shifting to the rookie Qb.
  25. Overall though Buffalo is not a complete dumpster fire. They have played extremely poor 3 weeks now, but the other 7 they have been competent. Buffalo has a lot of draft picks and alot of cap space. An actual franchise ability Qb with some improvements to the roster the team would be a bunch better landing spot than others at the top of the draft. They are not the Browns. A young Qb will have no hope. No matter who.
