Allen has made himself some money with this game. He has every tool you want. A little raw but has the potential to be special. If I was Buffalo i would move into the top 5 for him. I think he is the clear number 3 behind Rosen and Darnold but not that far off.

Are the Jags a serious threat to win to win the SB this year
Mat68 replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont know if Bortles will make the plays to win those games but he will have the opportunity to. I want for nothing more than Buffalo sneaking into the playoffs and knocking the Jags out that would be fantastic. -
I like it. Pass the spiked eggnog and here is to all of us having the merriest Christmas in terms of the Bills in a long time. Honestly, it is the most winnable game Buffalo has had in NE that Brady is playing the whole the game in 17 years.

They 100% are. Elite defense and run game travels. No one in the AFC want to play Jacksonville. -
This game WILL force ppl to see the truth

Do I expect Buffalo to win? I do not. Im also not going to discount them until the game is over. If Taylor doesn't throw that terrible pick the first time they are in that game to the end. If the Dolphins can smoke them I am not discounting Buffalo chances to pull the upset. They are not the same team as in years past. The defense is not that good and the offense is not explosive. A few plays on the defense and Taylor gets into a rythem Buffalo has a 50/50 chance. -
He played all over the field for them last year. I think they didnt know where to play to him. Thought he was a jack of trades but not a 1 position starter. More of a utility man instead of starter.

This is why owners should stay out of roster decisions. Kraft was an is obviously emotionally attached to Brady and not looking longer term about future success of the franchise. If he plays another 5 years at diminishing returns the team will need to be improved around him.. With how often Brady took less money how willing will Brady be to take even less and less as he is older? Maybe Kraft doesnt like the longer look of he NFL and once Brady retires he sell the franchise. Its very strange and rare for an Owner to be so near sighted in view and scope. Garapalo would be the best shot at success for the the next 10 years. As Brady diminishes within a year or 2 Garapalo will soon surpace Brady in ability.

If the 49ers traded Steve young instead of Montana they dont win another Superbowl. If Greenbay trade Rodgers instead of Farve they dont win another Superbowl. It is in the best interest of the franchise to trade the old QB a year early instead of the promising QB with his whole career ahead of him. Jimmy G has not reached his potential yet. Brady is on the decline of his career.

John Murphy Scolds Bills Fans For Being "Negative"
Mat68 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The majority of fans are and they hate every move Buffalo makes. After every win say well we all know they are losing next week. Its a way to avoid disappointment by setting the expectations low. Though they also take every game, every play, every loss the hardest so it is not working out. Say what you want this is the biggest weekend and biggest 2 week stretch since bledsoe was QB in terms of making the playoffs. Idc about draft stock or franchise Qbs talk today, I want to see Buffalo beat a struggling Pats team in NE in a game that matters to both teams for a change. -
if the 49ers cant come to an agreement and he is Franchised I absolutely would kick the tires. As close and as friendly as him and Brady were it seems like Brady forced a power play with Kraft to get jimmy G out of there. Imo Garapalo would like the opportunity to beat Kraft and Brady a couple time a year.

Manning played game manger for Denver. That team is supremely more talented than NE at all phases of the game. The last few years Ne has jettisoned their early picks for veteran players that haven't worked out. If Brady drops below a MVP level they will not be half the team they are now. They will look alot like Greenbay without Rodgers. They do not have alot young talent and the players that are young and skilled are getting close to their second contracts that they will not be able to pay for. Cook and Bulter are close to making 40 mil a piece. Trading Jimmy G after trading Brisset was a terrible decision and not one a football lifer would make. By not trading Jimmy G for a first rd pick it tells me Bill believed he was a franchise caliber Qb. He picked the 49ers not because of the coaches or direction of the franchise. They were the worst team in a different conference and Bill would only face him once every 4 years.
-
I believe that 100%. Otherwise Bill would have traded jimmy G during the draft and would have gotten a first for him. Bill's plan was to build and cement his legacy and win with Jimmy G. Just like what happened in San Fran or Green bay with Farve and Montana. Bill would not have trade Brisett i he was going to let Jimmy go. They have nothing behind Brady and Brady is 40. This was a move that goes against everything Bill has done in NE. Kraft has a personal relationship with Brady and I believe it was mandated that Brady is retireing a Patriot. If the Patriots do not win a Superbowl this year they will not win another.

Has officiating ever NOT been a problem?
Mat68 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since I remember watching football there have always been bad calls. With referee controlled replay they now seem to interpret rules in ways that have never been called in real time. Very simple way to speed up the game. Give both coaches 3 challenges. No more officiating control even under 2 mins. Put in on the coaches. If they don't challenge the play it stands. It removes imo the over analysis of the every td or turnover. If you cant tell its not the right call after seeing 30 sec of replay its not obvious. It slows the game and effects momentum. Does NE challenge the Jesse James TD? I doubt it. -
ESPN: Tom Brady’s Most Dangerous Game
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gronk is really the difference maker for the team and offense. You cant stop Gronk in Cover 2 man or zone. He toasts the Lb everytime. So you have to play cover 3 and that opens up all the outside the number passes. -

Imo Cleveland would die for some vanilla ice cream. Better than crappy tasting ice cream -
Jeff Fisher reportedly eyeing Browns HC job
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not get all he Jeff Fisher hate. Fir Cleveland they need a calming influence on the franchise. They have a good defense with young talent and decent special teams. He will make that team competitive. I think 7-9 for a a few years is better than 1-15 or 0-16. The amount of talent that cleveland will bring in this offseason they need a guy that will demand a level of professionalism. He brings with a smart OC they will be fine. -
Hit him often. Do it legally. The best way to exact revenge is win the game.

2018 Trade partners moving up the board
Mat68 replied to Tatonka68's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A team already with a Qb will like the Idea of 2 first rd picks this year plus whatever else they get from us. Buffalo has ammunition to move up anywhere in the draft. I don't expect Cleveland to trade out again. But you never know if the top guys refuse to play there. -
To succeed at anything consistently there are usually outlines you need to always follow to get the same or similar results. Thing dont just happen. Buffalo has proven you cant just draft talent and expect a playoff spot, like you can spend a bunch of money in FA and expect to make the playoffs. The issue with the franchise has been systemic for years. His most talent young players where stat me guys. Looking at the roster Buffalo was surprisingly old with little cap space. They parlayed 2 of the more talented guys on the roster for picks and more team friendly players. Daures' contract was a mistake and they desperately needed to get out from under it. You would think Shady would be that but he never has been a me first player. He may be outspoken at times but has never been reported to be a bad teammate or didn't want to do everything in his power to win. So here we are week 16 Buffalo most certainly has to be eliminated from the playoffs already. There best players from previous years are either in LA or NE. As much as you want to hate the "Process", or make fun of, it is getting increasing more difficult to doubt it. Buffalo In 1 season went from a real issue with the cap to a fairly good position. Buffalo went from too old and no future Qb to having the best draft capital the team has had in decades. The most important part Buffalo is still holding on to the 6th seed in the playoffs. and are 8-6 for the first time since 1999 the last time Buffalo has made the playoffs. Of all the talk about the future and win now, Buffalo has a bright future with the cap space and picks . While they are also in the best playoff position in years. But The Op is right Mcdermott is fools gold.

Remember when Mitch Trubisky was supposed to be awesome?
Mat68 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well Geoff could not get on the field for the majority of of his rookie year and when he did was pretty poor. He seemed to rebound quite well. Cant read too much into year 1. Especially when he had no one to throw to outside. -
I doubt Dennison is gone after this year.
