QB's... Where they land... Story on NFL.com
Mat68 replied to BuffaloDave55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like Buffalo punted again. I would be upset if that is true. Even if they land Keenum I would still hope one of the first round picks go to Qb. Maybe Jackson could sit develop and use on a few packages. -
Their (Carolina) main needs were CB, WR, and OT. I am not surprised those were they main players picked and I would bet those where the main targets by Carolina as well. Carolina is not spending the same amount of time scouting the crop of Qbs that Buffalo was. Yes they are scouting them and ranking them but they are not digging deep to see which top Qb fits the Panthers. That would be a waste of assets and time because they where not drafting a Qb 1 with Cam winning the MVP 2 seasons prior and still in his prime.

Doug Farrar: Best Under-the-Radar Free Agents for 2018
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like both of their fits in the D. Also, fills a couple needs. -
Comparable to other drafts this has higher rated Qbs. Seen multiple agencies have rated Rosen and Darnold higher than Wentz and Goeff when they came out. Im not saying it is a guarantee that both are going to be as successful but they have the higher potential than the fore mentioned. Allen had the best physical tools and arm in years, add in Mayfield and Jackson the level of ability in this class is very high. In lesser years and 4 of these guys would #1. There are more options does not mean no is worth it 1.
-
The class in 2019 is not close to the this years in terms of top end talent and overall ability and potential. This year is the deepest class since 2004. Buffalo has 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders. If you have to move up to get a Qb Buffalo will never have the ability to do it more than now.

3 team trade Skins, 49ers, Bills, we get Jimmy G
Mat68 replied to 17 Josh Allen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey guys this is just the first part of the trade coming together. For the trade to happen Garopalo had to sign. Now later this week Washington will franchise tag Cousin and the three way trade is back on. Disregard the press conference in San Francisco with with Jimmy G and john Lynch that is simply fake news. We all know Beane is traveling the area with Garopalo pitching him hard on the outlet mall shopping his wife can do here. -
Yes. Foles has more years and Buffalo needs a Qb. Try to trade Taylor for a rb. But with all their Rbs no way they do that.

Josh McDaniels Withdraws from Colts' HC Job

I dont care how it turned out. That is a reflection of the mans charachter. At that stage the coaches going had to be close at one point or another with Mcdaniels. They were given a certain level of security or they would not have signed and would have waited. To do that to people you respect shows who he is. -

Nothing with Lucks health or family. The excuses used. He had assistant coaches sign contracts to join indy when didnt is a problem. Its a level to where his agent had to drop him. Im a proffessional I understand nothing is final until you sign your name on the line, dont request other men do something you havent. If you change your mind look after your guys and be a man and tell them before they see it on there phones. -

To a man dont have other people change their jobs and uproot there families just to leave them at the alter. Report is that many found out when it was reported and not from the man himself. That is the only wrong thing he did. Family is the biggest B.S excuse. Nothing changed in the last 2 weeks or last 2 days. Its one of those things people throw out there because family comes before all else so no one will question it. Hes a douche always will be. You cant recruit your staff while renegotiating with Kraft, and have your staff sign contracts with Indy, only to back out and claim you never signed anything. Be a man. I believe his only chance at a job is NE. Buffalo will be better off for it once it happens. -
21 and 22 for Jimmy G?
-
Im not advicating it just showing a logical trade scenerio that Philly would do. There is a larger amount of teams that need Qbs than available starting Qbs available. A team that needs a Qb may very well pony up for foles.
-
1 pick in the first 100 picks. Wentz is the franchise Qb and would have won the MVP. He is the guy in Philly. With the way the team is constructed they could stay afloat in the NFC and Division with a back up Qb for the first half of the season. Chase Daniels, or a Qb of that ilk. I am not saying to strictly give Foles away. I would hold on to him if they were not offered anything of value. But 2 picks with one a 1st is a strong possibility I expect for the eagles to take that offer. They have the rare situation to trade away a Qb who market is going to be sizzling hot for. By the way his 7 mil salary makes him more advantages than Cousins or a rookie. Would Buffalo trade 1 or both of there first rounders? Probably, and would Philly take that offer? Yes. Foles is going to be in Philly for 1 more year at best. He will possibly play 6 to 8 games. Will those 6-8 games be better than the conference Championship game and Superbowl? Probably not. Imo i think Foles played the best games of his career in the 2 most important ones. I dont expect for him to play at that level consistently so the more he plays the lower his value gets.

Polin on Golic and Wingo stated that "heir apparent" and succession plans are exempt from the Rooney Rule. McDaniels looks like a douche that everyone expects him to be. But if Kraft adds more money and the next coach title how car you say no? Idk how Bill would feel about this. Yes, Parcells did this for him and maybe he is paying it forward. Will he be ok with giving Josh more control over the team and groom him as his successor? From my perspective seems like Kraft is doing for Brady what Kraft wouldn't do for Bill. Oddly similar to the Garapalo situation, but with the head coach and not Q. I think Bill is gone and they roll with Mcd and Brady til the end. -
Barron would me an instant fit at Will. Right now there is really no will on the market. I dont really see Quinn because he doesnt offer much in terms of run defense.

PFF: How the Vikings Might Handle Their QB Dilemma
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Minnesota like Bridgewater and will sign him to a show me deal. Than they will make a decent offer to Keenum than Bradford. I think Bridewater most likley stays and than if Keenum takes less money to stay he is the guy if he wants a big Deal he goes FA. If that happen they go with Bradford. I think 2 Qbs stay and one goes. Keenum or Bradford will most likley be one of the guys that leaves. -
Andrew Luck to Bills speculation/chatter
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Polian this morning on golic and wingo stated that a clear heir apparent or "coach in waiting" is exempt from the Rooney rule. It is for coaching searches not succession plans. On to thread. By Mcdaniels not becoming the head coach it enhances Buffalo chances of trading for Luck. -
0 chance that happens. I will be surprised if Foles is an Eagles after the draft.

Imo he will not succeed as an NFL head coach. I dont believe he has the people skills to build a winning team. Say what you wish about Bill but he built a legacy so he can do things a certain way. I think Bill is actually a genuine guy. He sticks to his word and players know where they stand with him. Im curious to see if Bill was the one who approached Josh or if it was Kraft? If Kraft was the one to offer him the job in waiting that is another situation where Bill's authority will be undermined. The whole sit down that is looming with Kraft, Bill, and Brady adds the leverage to Kraft who is going to side with Brady. By having his disciples leave for jobs Bill would have entered that meeting with at least his services being the leverage. Josh is going to be a large factor in that meeting. I would not be surprised if in the coming weeks Bill retires. In a year or two resurfaces and is coaching for a different organization. -
I think most are concerned about Wentz and that it was a late in the year injury and he would be ready in Training camp. So they would be more willing to trade Foles once Wentz is healthy. So at the trade deadline they would be all for it. With the mindset Pederson and the roster that is constructed, I think a perennial back up could start the season 5-3 or 4-4. I think they would be inclined to accept an offer it it includes a 1st rd pick in 2018. Sell high.

My question, as the Eagles if you are willing to trade Foles in the summer when a contender loses there Qb, wouldnt it be better to have a desperate team like Cleveland offer number 4 for Foles? That pick is much higher than a contender would be. Foles will warrant a big consideration from any team starve of a Qb. He had a great regular season 4 years ago and now had a fantastic playoffs and out dueled Brady for a Superbowl ring. So in the right situation he showed that he can be productive. Mcdermott a Ried guy may very well be interested in Foles. Would you trade 22 for Foles? Idk but Buffalo is going to consider it and Philly would be dumb not to listen.
