  1. Imo this helps out the established teams. For a team still building you are not going to get ahead of anyone just letting good players walk for mid round picks. If you are the Patriots or Steelers sure. They are pretty up against the cap so if a players leaves they can get a return on that. Imo you are better selling a year early if you expect the player to leave. You can get an immediate asset for your current year draft and at a higher round in most cases than the actual compensatory pick would have been. Chandler jones, Jamie Collins, and Watkins are all trades doing this.
  2. My understanding it was in terms of signing bonus and cap implication. Say cousins gets 50 mil signing bonus. instead of prorating that amount over the years of the contract they would use most if not all of that 50 mil towards the 2018 cap.
  3. OSU also has the best deep ball threat in the draft. So to assume he was only watching Rudoplh is a stretch.
  4. Rating Allen and Mayfield 5 for arm strength would be same as rating them both 5 in accuracy.
  5. I commend the work and effort. Scoring Baker the same for arm strength that you score Allen however, leaves me questioning your opinion on everything else. That is really an apparent difference that jumps out at you.
  6. For the right money he would make alot of sense. I do not believe they will sign him for what they want to before FA starts however. If after the initial rush comes and goes and he is left unsigned maybe they come together. I dont see Buffalo giving out a lot of guaranteed money in FA. Gaines played well for a good deal. When he was on the field the defense was supremely better. With his injury history I do not see Buffalo offering Gaines the money he is looking for and could very well obtain.
  7. I believe that will be unlikely monetarily. Most players dont do what Taylor did his FA year. They will go to the highest guaranteed money spot especially after being a mid rd pick. Glennon, Oswiller, and lesser extend Garapalo have created quite a market. Mccarron on the open market would seem to the next guy after Cousin, Keenum, Bridgewater, and Bradford. For similar money I am keeping Taylor. Sure if I can get Mcarron for half the money I would, I just see that to be unlikely.
  8. If you are offering him a job to compete to start short and long term I would assume the price tag would be as much. 12-18 mil a year. I would struggle going over 10 for him.
  9. I would be concerned if it was any other school. Alabama over recruits and they are the worst at it for RBs. Just look in the NFL this past year. Drake for Miami couldnt break the starting lineup, and Karma had to transfer because he couldn't get on the field there. He is a one cut runner with not much wear and tear. In the middle rounds he would a target of mine.
  10. He is an above average back up. I would feel more comfortable with Taylor over Mccarron. I could see him as mid level option if Buffalo couldnt land a better option and dont want to pick up Taylors option. My money would be on him going to Cleveland. They were willing to trade a 2nd and 3rd for him so I expect if Jackson has any pull left there they will over pay for him. Imo Cleveland is a place where he could get a Glennon/ Oswieller type deal.
  11. Idk if Richardson will be the guy considering the last over priced DT they just traded away. Tackle is certainly a need though. Im curious to see how the organization moves forward.
  12. He would be best to get the most now before other players hit the market. He is free to to take visits and negotiate, most players cannot. He may wait if his value wasnt what he thought it was.
  13. I would rather keep Tyrod than Mccarron. Buffalo already struck gold once by finding a starting qb in a career back up.
  14. He seems like a young guy who was raised in a manor that could handle being a face of a multi Billion dollar company at 21. The blue collar working class mantra is overrated. He is going to be a leader of millionaires. Those who have issue with what he said just read the headlines and didn't read the articles. He is an intelligent thoughtful kid. He is the best thrower of the football in this class. I believe he has graduated from UCLA already. Which shows his work ethic to me. He adds 10 pounds to his lower body then you are in good to go.
  15. If the Giants don't go Qb and make a run with Eli, a trade with Buffalo for 21,22 and Glenn would make tons of sense. They need line help. Glenn LT and they can use 21 or 22 for OT or guard. With the other pick they can add a Rb like Guice or Michel. They fix their biggest needs in the first night of the draft. It makes alot of sense but again alot of time til May so many things can change.
  16. So early who knows what happens in May. Fa still will change alot of what happens. Same guy says Buffalo is high on Foles. So they trade for Foles and trade all the way up for Rosen too? I find that highly unlikely.
  17. Look to add the best Qb possible at the start of the league year to avoid paying Taylors option. Depending what happens will paint a better picture of how to attack the draft. Outside of a trade or signing Cousins I think the Bills would need to be aggressive early to get their Qb. I believe this is the best draft since 2004. Im not a draft a Qb because you need a Qb kind of fan. This class is the best in a long time Imo. Buffalo has the most picks in a long time and I feel the oppurtunity is there for the Bills to take advantage of it.
  18. I see your point. Im with you. Sign Cousins or you best trade up to the top 5 for one of those Qbs.
  19. Idk who Buffalo will rate as there top Qb. This is one of most skilled crop of Qbs in a very long time. IMO its the best class since 2004. You cannot find a scout who will say that if Mayfield was 3 inches taller he would be hands down the best prospect. He is a good prospect but Rosen, Darnold, and Allen are just as good maybe more upside when projecting to the NFL. Buffalo needs to figure which one they want and find a way to get them. If that happens I think everyone would be on board regaurdless of opionion on the prospect. Rarely does a draft come along with this kind of crop and the draft picks to move to land one.
  20. Why risk it or at best looked inept. They pick a rb or db #1 and the 3rd Qb at 4 they look like they couldnt make up there mind and were scared to pick the wrong guy. Whoever, is rated higher and fits you future the best you draft them. Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfiled, Jackson. Idc whoever you think in 10 years is the best qb you take them 1. Fitzpatrick, Chubb, or Barkley maybe all three are there at 4.
  21. With the class of Qbs get the best one at 1. Other Qbs get picked at 2 and 3. They get the best Qb and best player.
  22. Thought the same thing. 1 of their 4 picks was on our roster most of the year.
  23. Well 2nd place gives me pause. Before Mayfield's 2017 ,2016 Cody Kessler was the highest rated ever?
  24. Yes, I would go hard for Darnold or Rosen. Probably for Mayfiled or Allen too.
  25. Idk. He is not the play caller in Philly. He will be a hot name, but Its a question of how much has he affected the offense or is it mainly Pederson.
