Why I'm optimistic about this draft and the Bills' future
Mat68 replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes you are. Rudolph is not close to the caliber of prospect the other 5 are. My wish list is Rosen, Allen, Darnold, Jackson, Mayfield. Buffalo needs a guy to come in a take the Job those guys can win in the NFL. The remaining Qbs are backups in the NFL with a hope they can be more. Buffalo has 2 of those qbs on the roster now, no need for another. -
Bills aggressively trying to get ahead of Jets
Mat68 replied to Jammer8732's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same story for a month plus. Jets went to 3 because they couldnt get to the giants number. What is better than 3 second rd picks? 3 first rd picks. Buffalo traded to 12 and Taylor for 65 to pay 12,22,65 and 2019 first for 2. Buffalo has been operating like they are picking the Qb they want all through FA. Gettleman and Beane imo have a relatioship where neither will do favors because they are competing but they will talk straight. Beane knows the price. Who is it for? That is the million dollar question. -
Who in the Hell Is Mel Kiper, Jr?
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has surface knowledge of most of the guys drafted. Pushes them? No, by challenged he was the real first media member to blast poor picks on the spot. With todays tv deals and the NFL partnerships Kiper is more blunt good bad or indifferent than the other talking heads. Hes enteraining and he will rip a team for picking a guy he doesnt like. -
As a college man pre career I was dissipointed in the move from all day saturday and sunday to Thursday and Friday night, Saturday afternoon. Now as a proffessional and father its much better. I enjoy NFL and college football and its the merger of each sport. The hype and potential for any rd and pick becoming the key to turning around a franchise has created more anticipation. The Browns cant lose Thrusday but they could win, by getting the top qb and top offensive or defensive player. More cleveland fans will watch the draft than any game they played in December.

Regaurdless of his eye for talent or his "skill". He puts the time in and makes his honest opionions about the player and the team that picks him. More so than most. He has made a career for having a good amount of knowledge and challenging the NFL talent evaluators and former players. -
If Bills Get to Pick #2 Overall, Who Do You Take?
Mat68 replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darnold or Allen. Imo Buffalo pulls the trigger for either. They wait til draft night to claim they got their #1 Qb. -
Rudolph struggles throwing outside the numbers. His velocity is on the poor side. Jackson goes well before Rudolph.

Go on the record -do the Bills trade up?

First 2 years starting 46% 49%. Mid 50% and sub 50% is another dimension of inaccurate. -

Nelson due to the retirements of Wood amd Incognito. -
I find it unlikley Allen makes it out of the top 5.

Colts' GM Chris Ballard Open to Moving the 6th Pick
Mat68 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like the Colts never got a call from Buffalo for 3. They are trying to throw their name in a rumored 3 team trade hat, along with the Broncos. Imo the if Buffalo is trading up the perimeters are in place and have been since the combine. By waiting til the night of Buffalo gets to hold the illusion they made that trade for the 1 franchise guy they had on their board regardless of how true that is. The Giants get to claim they held out for the absolute highest offer. The Giants won 2 games for alot of reason. They have alot of issues. More picks the better. Is this the smartest move? Idk but the draft is shaping up to be very exciting. -
6 days you will know. The price its going to take to make a big impact move, imo Beane waits til the Browns pick is in to make the move to proclaim they got "Their" guy.

Ian Rapoport - Bills not going after 2nd pick
Mat68 replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont see it. Maybe im wrong. I think the NY media has a pretty good grasp on what the Jets want and are going to do. The Giants are the true wildcard of the draft. -
Eagles strike new deal with Nick Foles
Mat68 replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was given a 2 million dollar bonus for winning the Superbowl and an option for 19. Before he was a FA in 19. its possible a team will still trade for him. imo he is not look on as a franchise Qb but a bridge Qb. -
Ian Rapoport - Bills not going after 2nd pick
Mat68 replied to Ittakestime's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Idk how smart the Jets are. Im not sure they are that coy. -
There was really no real option though behind him. Davis? Yarborough? Cappi? Going into TC Lawson will have to earn a spot on the field. By sheer numbers he isnt going to be gifted a roster spot like last year. Murphy is the second best pass rusher behind Hughes. If Lawson is the best at setting the edge against the run why not play him on first and second down? i think we have similar mindsets with him, he needs to improve or he will be gone. Im not expecting him to be Khalil Mack but stout against the run and move the pocket with a pass rush is ok for a situational player.
-
That is really his biggest strength. He will be given every ability to grow in the pocket. Teams will be terrified to blitz him. He makes one guy miss and he has open space for days. Small trade up to 8 or 9, secure the Qb and keep 22. 22 You can get an impact player.
-
The way Mcdermott likes to platoon his dline I think there is still value with Lawson. Lets see if he can complete a full season. Being a solid run defender is still important. Lawson is not walking into camp the starter now. He will have to earn his spot in the rotation. if he does not he will be traded before September.

Buffalo trades up for a starting qb. Rosen or Darnold. They draft griffen at 56 who becomes a star at the will or Mike. Wr or Te in the 3rd.
