Removing Cam's rookie year makes little sense. He was not expected to be a good pocket passer off thr start. Seems to have some revisionist history. The premise is correct to me. Everyone is going horizontal, run the ball and go vertical. Imo to help Allen they need to find a guy with deep speed and stress the offense. Maybe they think a healthy streater is that guy but im not sure.

Football must be very enjoyable with all your optimism. They are nothing alike. Ej 5 star recruit. Couldnt get on the feild. Never reached his potential at any level. Allen 0 star recuit, went to junior college than wyoming. Instantly won the job. Made insane plays Ej never made.

They know Aj McCarron and Nate Peterman are the other Qbs on the roster.

Yes because he looked like a 21 year old at a bar playing darts for the first time.

With the drafting of Prohle, Ray Ray, to go with Kerley and Brandon Reilly I expect to see more involvement of the slot Wr in the offense. The out breaking routes Allen is deadly accurate. The option routes underneath will help credit easy throws.

Those are staple plays. Brady normally goes to the the underneath guys more often. The option route with a post or corner on the same side are common pass designs for NE. Imo Those will be deadly with Allen, but Allen will also take more risks down the field than Brady.

Current Bills on Chopping Block

I think all three are battling for a roster spot. If Streeter didnt break his toe im not sold Holmes makes the team last year. Miller fell out of favor same goes for Washington. Playing beside Phillips should allow Washigton to be a true 3 tech. The problem is Washington is a tweener who was more productive at De in college. -
Idk. Allen is money on the out and corner routes. I think he will be very good at the seem route as well. Those passing concepts fit his ability. He is not going to be brady and kill the d with swing passes and checkdown he will push the ball down the field more.

Out of Bodine or Groy whichever tis not the center is the LG imo. I think its Groy at Center Bodine at LG. Come TC I would not be surprised to see Richie show back up too.

Which Bill's draft pick? (and other draft related questions)
Mat68 replied to berg1029's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My favorite Qb of the batch was Allen. I did not know if Buffalo would see it that way but Im happy they did. Karon johnson. Simply from the gauntlet drill video. Ive never seen a guy get domed in that drill from the first pass. Allen, Edmunds, and Teller Teller Ray Ray, and Prohle will both have stiff competition for a roster spot. I think Ray Ray makes it as a returner so Prohle Yes I do. i think he starts opening day Overall, I am very pleased with the Bills draft. In my opinion they have a franchise Qb in Allen. My priority and hope was for Buffalo to leave the draft with a Qb and 3 down Linebaker. Imo the two positions that are not available in FA are Franchise QB and stud three down bakers. That is what they did. Edmubnds is a complete unicorn. 6-5 250 4.5 speed at the Mike is crazy. After the first Rd I was good. Still thought wr was a need, oline and interior D line was next on the docket. After Thursday night the ultimate cherry on top Friday night was Harrison Phillips. As much as they are trying to avoid it he is a Kyle Williams clone. 100 tackles at DT is crazy. He is the instantly the 3rd Dt. He can rotate with Williams and Star. I dont know enough about the remaining picks to make an overall intelligent case for any them, but from little info I gathered I like the secondary depth at corner and saftey. Teller looks like he could develop into a starting guard and maybe sooner rather than later. Ray Ray from clemson seems to be an immediate option at return. Last year watching Trubisky Prohle and Switzer seemed to always get open. He will be in one of the toughest battles. Going to the NE system I assume slot Wr will see an increase in priority with more underneath option routes. Seems Prohle, Reily, and Kerley will be in competition for 2 sports. This has been the most pleased with a draft i have been in as long as I could remember. Hopefully, this is one of those draft from the 80 we look back on and are able to see how it shape the franchise for a decade. The roster is not without faults but seems to improved at key areas. -
Start Allen from Day 1/ QB competition
Mat68 replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im an Allen believer, but my philosophy is you play a rookie Qb when he is your best option. Whenever he is the best Qb you play him. I think that will be very early on but I dont see any value in handing a rookie Qb a starting job in the NFL. It never works. The cream always rises. Once the team sees a difference and know he is the guy it goes much easier traditionally. -
Mel Kiper's 2018 NFL draft grades (Bills #1)

Take with a grain of salt, but the outlook is at least being well recieved. -
Beane not indicating Josh Allen will definitely redshirt
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching basicly all his games he has about 2 bad throws a game. Imo that can be cleaned up. He played in a very conservative system in terms of number of passes a game. In comparison to Wentz in the same system in 15 less career games Allen threw for 49 less yards and 1 less td. With superior talent around him in 2016, meaning 4 guys were in NFL training camps, he put up much better numbers and a better passer rating than Rosen. -
4th through 7th round of draft is not for filling needs
Mat68 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought Dawkins was the best lineman on the field. Richie hurts, but Groy and Bodine will fill in fine. Buffalo has an average Oline. Not terrible. -

Why is it so difficult to believe Allen will beat out 2 average qbs? Wentz was a project out of South Dakota St. He did ok. Allen out of the same system was more prolific a passer, took more chances down the field, and is a better athlete at similar points in their careers. I would be surprised and a little dissapointed if Allen cant beat out Mccarron and Peterman. -
Not going to happen. Allen is too talented. He will be the guy after the first 1 hr of the first practice.

Bills essentially traded a 1st, 2nd, Watkins and Glenn

Any sight that actually ranks the the players in he draft. So people that are actually looking at the players and putting them in order not what team will take who. Mcshay, Kiper, Mayock, bleache report simms or Miller. There are multiple places and sites that do it. -

i am not talking about what columnist or media heads put in an imaginary mock. Actual player rankings Allen is rated very high in most. -
Wentz vs Allen In the same system with the same coach Allen threw for 49 less yards 1 less Td in 15 less games. In 2016 Allen threw had a better passer rating than Josh Rosen. Allen is going to be a good Qb. He is the best Qb Buffalo has had since Kelly.
