  1. He is here because no one has offered much for him imo.
  2. It's very difficult to find a scenario where that has been successful in the past 10 years. In most cases you are better off drafting the better player.
  3. Heard that a comp for Oliver is an in shape Warren Sapp. Start from the inside out. Good safety play. Edmunds in the middle and put a beast in front of him.
  4. Oliver. He is going to be special. Sure up the middle of the defense.
  5. Agreed, but everything around them is faltering. McDermott is a defensive guy. That unit has been putrid. The Peterman decision, the McCarron decision looks terrible. McDermott needs to bust out some tape and super glue to keep the boat a float or he may go down with it.
  6. I expected the year to be a tough one. I thought McDermott would have a competitive team though. The team needs to make a major change in effort and performance or McDermott will be on a short list of coaches that could be fired. If Allen shows poise and fire in these games, Buffalo could have a top 5 pick. A franchise Qb, a freak Mike with 100 mil in cap space. That's near perfect to takeover as any. Look at LA with Goeff, Chicago with Trubisky. Defensive minded head coaches who fumbled the grooming of the young Qb.
  7. Let's see if McD can keep a team under 20 in a first half. Buffalo Wrs need to learn how to uncover when Allen breaks the pocket. How and when to get behind a defense in those circumstances. Do those 2 things and maybe they can win a game or 2.
  8. Baptism by fire for Allen. This first month or two is quite difficult.
  9. Deep pass. Take off some steam and stress.
  10. Pretty funny and spot on. He's flip flopping alot with Allen though. Keeping Tyrod for a year or 2 was the right move. Hopefully, Allen develops fast.
  11. Beane saved Peguala money and drafted what looks like a stud Mike and possible franchise Qb. The handling of Allen and the overall Qb position on a hole could leave McDermott vulnerable if the offense doesnt improve and lacks creativity. See Jon Fox, Lovie Smith, Jeff Fisher.
  12. It not hard to gather. If Allen had the lion share of practice with the starting offense, and the offense has been molded to his skill set the offense would be in a better place. Instead he has gotten a third to half to none of the reps.
  13. Taking 4 months to name Peterman the starter only to replace him after 2 quarters looks like one of the worst decisions in the franchise history. It's a blunder that could put him on the hot seat in Buffalo. The offense should have spent all the time Peterman got with the first team, running scramble drills with Allen. The offense would be light years ahead of where it is now.
  14. What did they want him so say. Peterman proved without any doubt he should never play professional quarterback. I thought he improved over the offseason, and the new offense would actually play to his strengths. Turns out he has no strengths and I have lousy judgement in terms of making decisions at the qb position.
  15. Yes. Same reason you plug Edumnds into the Mike is why you plug Allen into the starting line up. By mid camp it should have been obvious that Allen needed to be on the field and how to prepare him to play. I am beginning to question Mcdermotts offensive leadership and how to create a productive offense.
  16. Him and Tellar may play sooner rather than later.
  17. Last year Obrien did the identical move with Deshaun Watson. Kept saying how he wasnt ready than after a first half similar to Baltimore Watson was brought in and they never looked back. Really only difference for Allen's performance was that Benjamin dropped the Td that Hopkins caught for Watson.
  18. I dont understand why Mcdermott wouldn't do with Allen what he did with Edmunds. Similar age both freaky athletes both a little raw. Edmunds from first day at mini camp was groomed by McDermott to be the guy, how to lead. While at the same time Allen was regulate to third and getting the least amount of first team reps. Now 4 months later after 2 quarters of the first game Allen who was prepared to play the least by the coaching staff is the obvious player that needs to play. Same blunder Obrien made, Lovie Smith and Jon Fox got fired for it. It's a pretty big indictment of his evaluation and expectation of the position.
  19. Use him like a flex tight end. In 4 to 5 wides line him up inside the slot. Him attacking the seam with an option to the post or corner.
  20. Peterman's development is no further along than Allen's. Allen's natural gifts will result in a handful of big plays. With Allen's arm and athletic ability Buffalo needs to use Dimarco and go to 1 and 2 Wr sets. Kahri Lee I would activate and use on first and second down to assist the run game. They have the ability to spread out Clay, Croom and Thomas. Try to get the defense to over commit and to the run, use tempo and spread them out. If they go small pack it in and run the ball. I believe they have the personal, it would play into a young QBs favor. Easy reads max pass pro.
  21. The off season and offense had a slow burn feel. If everything went just so they could compete and be competitive. Nate Peterman was gasoline on that slow burn.
  22. It comes down to natural ability. The seam pass was never an option. If he looks to the right the safety stays in center field and he doesnt have the arm to get the ball there. This is why Peterman cant play in the NFL because smart defense know there are routes he cant throw so they can cheat off those and smother the ones he can.
  23. Coaches can out smart themselves. Coleman isn't a visual learning. Who cares? Hell just tell him, you run a fly, a fly stop or a shallow cross. Those are the only routes he needs to run and an occassional screen. Those 4 routes are all he needs.
  24. McDermott wasted 3 weeks pretending Peterman was ever anything more than a scout team Qb. Idk his infatuation with him as a player. Little, the worst Qb ever.
