If Buffalo trades for a premier player and signs them to a massive deal. If that doesnt happen, Shady's deal helps them reach the minimum they have to spend this year.

With recent news, Is Sweat worth the risk?

I would, dont believe they have the resources. Nothing gives me the idea Beane will trade next years first. I wouldn't either. I would trade for Clowney before Bosa. -

For me that's where I see where players tier. Top 5 to 10. 1. Productive and impactful on the feild, flash dominance 2. Freak athlete for the position. I think Buffalo can find a guy at 9 in this draft who checks both boxes. For me Sweat checks both boxes. -
In this offense Brown should end up around 1000 yards and 10 tds. Give or take. A little more maybe a little less. Last year he was pacing that with Flacco under center. The Lamar Jackson Wing T killed his production. His best wr was with Carson Palmer who threw a good deep ball. Doubling down on Allen's strengths makes sense. I see no issue with Browns deal. Imo If larger deals were done, and Buffalo was closer to the cap shady would get the first call. They are going running back by committee. McCoy third down and passing back Gore short yardage. A rookie as future not so future feature back.

With recent news, Is Sweat worth the risk?

He was all SEC back to back. He was more disruptive in 18 than 17. I think the combine amplified how freaky of a human he is. Drafting in the top 10 you want a freak. He has the production to go along with his combine. -
In Fa Buffalo was wise and went for role players and 1 premier player. Morse is the highest paid lineman on the roster and by far the best. Sitting inside the top 10 I'm sure Beane sees that as a chance to add a premier talent. I dont see them going "safe".

With recent news, Is Sweat worth the risk?

I have been thinking Sweat was a sure fire top 5 pick. I would take Sweat over just about anyone on the defensive line not named Bosa, Williams, or Allen. Hurst played this year with Oakland unimpeded. Hurst's was at a level where the NFL would not allow him to participate. Sweat's situation is not as severe thus the NFL allowed him to be a full participant on the field and drills. I would roll the dice and draft one of the top pass rushers if available. This may be a situation where this was leaked by a team late in the first and hope for him to fall to them. It's a risk for sure but one I think Buffalo could manage. -
His, height, weight, speed, and explosion is rare. He is Gary with pass rushing production. Per Rapport, Sweat was found to have a heart condition at the combine. Being he was cleared to participate it is seen to be not as severe as Hurst's issue found last year. With the medical red flag do you take him off the board at 9? Do you take him at 9 and take advantage of a player being available that otherwise would not be?

I think that was over blown. They need dudes. They have a strong enough culture in place to handle some personalities.

2OG,2OT,C,TE,2WR,RB,KR. That’s an offensive FA!

The line was trash. Dawkins and Tellar will be the only ones on the roster next year. -
I think Oliver is a more impactful player. William's will be hard pressed to break the starting rotation as a rookie.

Stefon Diggs being traded to Washington? Likely no
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Their Oline is progressively getting worst. Cousins isnt mobile. Are you paying Theilan, Diggs, and Rudolph top tier money? I think Buffalo are wise to sit back and wait on this situation and others like it to add a wr outside. I have come to my own conclusion that Beane doesnt pull a trigger on a trade til draft day or Julio Jones and Atlanta agree to an extension. -
Calling it now: Zay Jones will not be on the week 1 roster.
Mat68 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As it sits. Zay is the possession reciever outside. Has pretty good size and pretty solid route runner. He won't scare anyone but solid all around reciever. Can play outside and inside. -
A trade down is now off the table.

That didn't happen. As the roster sits there are no glaring holes. Optimistically, I dont see Buffalo drafting in the top 10 for a few years. Use the pick and get a premier player. Trade down makes sense to fill out the roster. They are in need of a impact player. The further down you go less impactful they theoretically are. -
Right I think 1 to 4 games are different than 8. Duke becomes expendable by Hunt. Hunt is better between the tackles and offers the same ability out of the back feild. Chubb has shown that part of his game. In today's NFL you need 2 backs. I highly doubt they trade unless it is at the deadline.

I agree, unless they net a premier player I dont see a trade down. At this time I think the need quality over quantity. -
Lol there goes the Duke Johnson trades. Maybe next offseason when all 3 rbs we have retire ?.

Money talks, and the chance to be Edelman in our offense not his understudy in theirs.

Brandon Beane and newly signed players - press conf from OBD
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In terms of cap and what is being done moving forward, I found it telling how Beane on more than 1 occasion stated having space for a marquee player if they become available. In terms of FA destination, he made it seem like they had the ability to add more but held back. Beane wants to make a move that happend with Mack or Copper last year. I could see any of the 3 DE holding out on the franchise tag. The wildcard is what Atlanta does with their cap situation and verbal agreement to redo Julio Jones contract this offseason. They have a total of 14 mil in cap space a poor football team and a draft in April. Beane wants to swop in and grab Jones. -
The demands wont be. He will want Von Miller money. He impacts a game without always getting the sacks. Something many edge rushers cannot say. Watt gets half as many sacks last year if Clowney is not on the field. Clowney beats his man, disrupts the play, Qb scrambles right into Watt. Clowney plays like he is the Tazmanian Devil. Maybe over aggressive at times but an element lacking on defense.

Why are the Browns the sexy pick?
Mat68 replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have the most polarizing Qb and Wr currently in the NFL. They are the paper champions right now. They are talented but let's see how they mature and play. -
Draft Network: Christian Wilkins 5-Play Scouting Report
Mat68 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You draft a DT at 9 you want a dominat pro bowl level player. I dont see that potential. I think they go impact player on d or premier pass catcher. With the players Buffalo were linked to I could see Buffalo being higher on Metcalf than many think. Screw it Metcalf, Foster, brown All goes with Beasly running an option route.
