To say he cant do more because OHio St didn't ask him to isnt accurate either. Basically, Campbell ran the shallow cross or whip route all game and consistently ran away from NFL talent DBs at a remarkable clip. At worst in Buffalo you have a freak athlete doing the gadget stuff McKenzie did last year. Similar to Tareek Hill or Tarik Cohen a matchup nightmare. Best case he can develop into a deep threat that Hill has become and be a true threat anywhere on the field. Foster and Brown outside Campbell motioning across the formation puts a ton of stress on a defenses principles. Doing so makes humans make split second decisions on guys with 4.4 speed. Looking at the offense used late last year Campbell surely would be able to be utilized. Just doing what he did in college would make a difference. I think his movement is special to be taught a full route tree to develop into a complete Wr not just a gadget player.

Bills Allocated Christain Wade (International Pathway Program)
Mat68 replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Developmental back. Seems to have soft hands. At his age, there isnt much time to wait for him to develop. The exemption makes it as low risk as can be. With Gore and McCoy he could pick up alot fast. -
Ed Oliver : did the scheme hold him back? (PFF article)
Mat68 replied to SouthNYfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On the defensive front in college it happens more than you think. They are concerned about winning not really concerned with a players production. In passing situations Oliver rushed from the nose more than any top tier Dt in the draft. More so than even Dexter Lawerance. -
Ed Oliver : did the scheme hold him back? (PFF article)
Mat68 replied to SouthNYfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The ability to play with Ferrell and Lawerance vs other collegiate lines is hard to quantify. Put Wilkins at the 3 tech, Ferrell at De and Lawerence over the center good luck. Not the same as facing Houston with Oliver over center with some college b level talent around him. -
Ed Oliver : did the scheme hold him back? (PFF article)
Mat68 replied to SouthNYfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the exact reason why they have the combine and pro days. His athleticism is rare and freakish. He was not a small time recruit that came out of nowhere either. Big time colleges were after him. He wanted to play as a freshman and be close to home so he pick Houston. The coach at Houston used Oliver to garner the most attention to essentially have it be 8 or 7 on 10. In terms of fading down the stretch of games? That's due to constant double teams. In the NFL he wont doubled a third as much. Look at it the other way. Clemson, Alabama and Mississippi st lines were loaded. Even the top guys Wilkins, Williams, Simmons. How often were they doubled let alone tripled?? -
They retooled their poorest positions. Beasley was the best slot wr availabe, who gets open quickly underneath. Brown was the best deep threat available. Pairing him with Allen makes sense. The Oline was terrible. They added the best center, and 5 veterans who could either be the starter or main backup. After all of that they can get out of almost all those deals after 2019 or 2020 at the latest. Sitting at 9 they can do whatever they want. Auction it for a vetran Probowler. Draft a probable impact player. With the surplus of day 3 picks I would imagine they use them to move up to get more players day 2 or another one in the first. Until the draft has played out it's hard to say they have no plan. Whether it's running back, dline or weapons for Allen that leaves more to be desired, they all could be corrected.

Ed Oliver : did the scheme hold him back? (PFF article)

As an undersized Dt, he was asked to play nose tackle. Heads up over the center. The offense double even triple teamed him all game. He is a perfect 3 tech. Utilize his rare speed and quickness to penetrate by lining him up in gap of the guard and tackle. Seemed to me Houston used him to take up as many blockers as possible, while still asking him to make plays. When he was allowed to rush from non-nose positions he rank near the top of the class. -
Neither. I dont see either prospect as a top 10 pick. In a draft high on talent I think there are impact players at numerous positions who will be available at 9. Taylor or Willimas are strictly need based picks in the top 20. The difference between them or who's available at 41 wont be significant.

Full Intelligent Breakdown of DK Metcalf
Mat68 replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's you definition of quickness? Metcalf had one of the best 10 yards splits in the last 10 years? He wont run many option routes out of the slot, but outside he can run the go, comeback, post, slant and deep in and be effective doing it. His burst and speed shows up on screen. I'm concerned about the guys who are less explosive that didn't seperate in college. -
Is Quinnen Williams the next Dareus?
Mat68 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A motivated Darues was special. Things happend on and off the field that has kept him from matching that form again. He didn't get a 100 mil contract because Whaley wanted to burn money. Years 2, 3, 4 he was a fantastic player. No way to tell how a 25 year old man will handle 20 mil checks. -
Why I think T.J. Hockenson, TE Iowa, will be the #9 pick
Mat68 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Fant goes before Hockinson. He is the more natural route runner, the better redzone threat, and the kind of dynamic athlete that is drafted high. -
He played in nearly twice the games. Metcalf had more yards and Tds at the time of his injury on less targets. Looking at ability and potential who can do more in the NFL? Its Metcalf.

Why I think T.J. Hockenson, TE Iowa, will be the #9 pick
Mat68 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you go offense at 9 it would have to be Metcalf. The idea of an elite pass catching Te who can also block is fantastic. My problem is Hockinson hasn't shown he is an Elite pass catcher. The argument against Metcalf is injuries and production. Metcalf in 2 less games has 200 more yards and five more TDs then the safer player Hockinson. When on the feild Metcalf produced at a higher rate while also having another player at his position on the team that is going to be drafted similar to Hockinson. -
I go 1 Metcalf 2 Butler after that it's a pick your preference. I go Marquis Brown then Parris Campbell. I would be happy with Buffalo leaving the draft with any of the aforementioned. They all have elite traits that can play outside. To me the rest of the guys are better suited as slot or big slot position.

When Foster was brought back to the roster and starting to produce a comment McDermott made stuck out. It was basically, this isnt college or high school anymore. Players have to change their approach and become professionals. I also, read that Ray Ray has not changed. Mccloud would have to show he knows the playbook, and shows he can become the back up slot to Beasley. Imo he is a longshot.

Mel Kiper Mocks — 1.0 DT Rashan Gary 2.0 DK Metcalf
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm ok with just about anything other than Db, Oline or Rb at 9. Those are the positions lacking an elite option. I dont really want them to go "safe". I would rather they go for the most talented guy. Oliver, Gary, Metcalf, or Sweat. -
Bills host OG Quinton Spain from Titans***Update...SIGNED***

From what I've seen he is a pretty good run blocker at the POA. He also gets good movement. I think he is the probable LG. -

Picking at 9, if their was a stud lineman available in this draft I wonder if Beanes approach would be different? Personally, I dont see value picking one at 9. Maybe 40. The offense needs some impact skill players to go with the role players they brought in. I think they like Teller, so all they need is a guy to develop to take over RT. -
Full Intelligent Breakdown of DK Metcalf
Mat68 replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dont think it's a question if Buffalo would draft him at 9. I think it's a question of will he be available at 9. If he is not one of those stud dlineman will be and I think that's a win for Buffalo as well. -
I think that young talent is needed on offense more so than defense. That will be weighted into account when they put their board together. The draft could fall so many ways. If they get 3 ace defenders with their top 3 picks. I wouldn't love it but I think they have enough to win with a dominant defense.

Noah Fant - trade down and draft a difference maker
Mat68 replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right now Hockenson is a better blocker. He has the higher floor. Worst case he is a 10 to 12 year pro barring injury. Font has rare ability for a TE. He was OJ Howard but with production. He lined up all over the place. Games I watched last year it seemed Font was regarded as the higher prospect. After the playoffs guys imo are projecting that Hockenson is a great blocker and are harping on it because Gronk blocked so well for NE in the playoffs. Font when asked was not a poor blocker but he wasnt asked to do it as often because he was usually the flex TE while Hockinson was the in line TE. -
Buffalo politician: Why wouldn’t you renovate New Era Field
Mat68 replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the North East, get a middle of the road Big Ten school and you could darn near sell it out no matter the opponent. Now that and the other stuff will not recoup any substance of the public money. It would offer more return than a remodel would. With a new stadium the Peguals will try to attract a different fan than what New Era offers. They imo dont like the viral tailgate. If they could get some off the money fans spend on their tailgates and improve the game day experience inside the stadium they would be all for it. More family friendly pricing like in the Mercedes dome in Atlanta would make sense. -
Sign Zach Brown back and move Edmonds to OLB / Edge Rusher?
Mat68 replied to anguskeenan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edmunds has the potential to be a crazy good Mike. He isnt strong yet at the POT. That's to be expected from a 20 year old playing against men. He showed up alot in the passing attack. His instincts will only get better, he will only become stronger. Get a natural pass rusher to play DE.
