Bills resign Spencer Long, Foster, and Levi
Mat68 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You pay a Qb a year early. Now Dak has all the power. Hes coming off a career year, Mahomes is going to reset the market. 50 to 60 mil? Dak is going to want 40. -
Redskins and Tua at pick 2 - Smokescreen or real?
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Both. I think for the right price they trade down. I also think discussions about Haskins are real. Tua is a better Qb than Haskins. Rivera would want a leader on offense and that is Tua not Haskins. -
Free Agency News and Updates - around the league

Afraid? No. Big money for a Rb is still relativley low on the in the overall spectrum of money. Ironicly, with the growing trend of drafting Rb vs signing them. I think value is swinging to signing one. Singeltary is good but seems better in a limited touch basis. The offense needs a lead back imo. Buffalo can get more impact vs the money at Rb compared to any position this year. -
This is a perfect no risk signing. No different than if Olsen signed here. Norman is a perfect fit for the defense. If he doesnt have it anymore? It wont effect much.

This is important, but find the line were great stops. Some drafts have 5, some 12 some 15. After a certain point getting more day 2 picks vs 1 late first makes alot of sense.

Chase Claypool- I know you want to talk about him
Mat68 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree but most drafts dont have 22 studs in it. Buffalo needs a significant increase in offensive weapons. Im not convinced that there is a significant difference in impact from pick. 22 to 50. If there is than absolutely take him at 22. If you get to pick up an extra pick in the top 50 I would do it. -
Tee Higgins was tired so he chose not to participate
Mat68 replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a draft full of good wrs it doesnt take much to fall behind a good amount of other players. Higgins hurt himself. The draft is deep. Outside of one of Buffalos top 15 players being availbe at 22 the best move is to trade down. Get as many day 2 picks as possible. -
Usage. The concern is how much life does he have in his legs. 299 carries as a freshman. Last 2 years over 300 a year. Thats an insane amount of carries. First rd you are talking about guaranteed money and total money he is getting. Taylor is gifted but how long will he play? 4,5 years? First rders are usually foundational pieces for successful franchises. Spending a first on a guy you expect to only have for his rookie deal is steep in many peoples minds.
-
You would have to get elite production out of Taylor for his first 3 yeara. Imo he is a 1 contract back. The carries he had at Wisconsin will catch up to him. Now he is a speciel talent but 900 carries in todays day and age is unheard of. A high pick for assume 4 years is too much imo. 3rd or 4th? I more inclined to do it.

Hopefully, Juedy or Lamb fall because of the 40s. Speeds important. Getting open is another thing.

Knox and Sweeney makes Te a position that can be upgraded but not a nessecity. I think Knox has the potential to a top 10 te. There are things he needs to work on but his talent is real. Olsen, would be similar to Gore last year. He is an immense upgrade over Lee Smith. He can play and be a revieving threat in any formation.

Christian Wade interview ESPN UK - Bills best org for him
Mat68 replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I think he can be a core teamer he easily replaces Perry on the roster. He has something with the ball in his hands. The plays they gave Mckenzie last year I would like to see how he would perform with those plays. -
McShay - Bills pass on WR and take RB Swift in 1st.
Mat68 replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SF paid massive deals to 2 Rbs. Mckinnion couldnt stay healthy and paid Coleman 40 mil. Buffalo has a bag of cash. Singeltary is very good, imo though he is limited to 15 to 20 touches. Another guy in the backfield is needed. Whether it be FA or draft its happening. I could see Swift, now with the caveat the more premier positions are gone ie OT, De. I know Wr will be the wanted pick. At that point it comes down to BPA a RB could be that. -

Having another competant Rb is an offseason need. Gores lack of effectiveness negativley effected the offense from the middle of October on. Singletary is good for 15 to 20 touches. Buffalo needs someone who can be on the field for half of the game at the Rb position. Yeldon is a good 3rd option. -
Greg Olsen visiting Bills, Redskins, Seahawks
Mat68 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Olsen is a massive improvement over Smith. Olsen is a very good blocker. When healthy Olsen still can play. Knox imo isnt ready to be the starter but hes close. Learning to be a complete Te from one of the best to do it has worth. -
At some point as industry leaders, they will not be ok being the worst anything in the NFL at anything. Right now Buffalo is severly behind in stadium quality by every measure. I think they are forward thinkers, moving into a new stadium opens alot of doors and avenues they will never have access to in New Era.
-
On the cheap, I would do it. Now, he has alot of off the feild stuff. Will he be suspended again for the traffic stop incident? If available he is a top 5 back in the NFL. Would pair nicley with Singletary. The amount of money he would command would be peanuts compared to what he could offer the offense.

Imo, PFF put some of those Qbs above Allen to click bait Bills fans. Allen was the 2nd best Qb out of his draft class last year. He looks poised to make a leap in year 3.

PFF's Big Board (I know I know, but hear me out)
Mat68 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see it like drafting Ford last year. If Ford doesnt make it as a RT he we still make a good Guard. With Shenault if say he has a start of his career like Zay Jones outside. He could very well be a pro bowl level returnman, and a dynamic gadget guy on offense. Zay you cut ties with, Shenault still gives you value. Mckenzie made a few plays, but also left others on the feild. Shenault in that position is a real problem for defenses and has the size to make the plays down field Mckenzie could not. The more you can do. You got Jeudy and Lamb then there is everyone else imo. Shenualt needs to learn the X and in the mean time adds a playmaker you design plays for. -
I think that's an over simplification of him as a wr. He played all over the formation. I'm not a scout but from what I read he is exactly what you want from an X. He is what people wanted Cordelle Patterson to become. I dont see them getting Jeudy or Lamb, outside of them every prospect is going to have something. For me he is too unique not to take a shot with. Worst case scenario he is Cordelle Patterson. He can replace Robert's on the roster, also add a big play dimension to the offense and replace McKenzie. 2 roster spots just opened up else where. I think Shenault is going to be very good. I like his after the catch running ability. Given the opportunity to learn a position he could really flourish. This time of year I learn height weight speed. Barring prerequisite protection. Round 1 I'm looking for the freakiest dudes available.
