Ya him an Matos dont look like first rd Des to me. Kinda like Lawson here. You pick a guy in Rd 1 at De you expect sacks, hurries, and big plays. Being a solid, not flashy De on day 2 makes more sense.
-
Alot of teams have more pressing needs than Wr. Mims is a solid prospect and somewhere in rd 2 he makes alot of sense. In terms of quality of player I see no difference in 22 or 54. I think Mims could have been in play at 22 honestly.
-
I dont see the value there at 54. A De selection at that point you are picking a position not the beat player. Maybe one of the 2 Big 10 Des fall. Yetur-Matos or Espinosa?? Most likley they are gone. At 54 you are in a prime position for offensive skill players imo.
-
I dont see an edge at 54 making much of an impact or seeing much playing time. This year seems short on quick twitch ends.
-
So when you borrow a stadium you get to borrow their color scheme too?
-
For what he is and what he costs I think it makes sense. Until someone better comes along no issue with keeping him.
-
With him getting cut I assume the Panthers are still on the hook for future money. Cam proves he can still play and can cash in next year. Its a possible marriage thats all.
-
This is what Ive been thinking. Its either Cam or tank.

Denzel Mims film room, should we work to get him.

Who knows where they go. They spent a high pick on Campbell last year. I dont think you bring in Rivers and go young all around him. -

Did The Bills Dig to Deep for Diggs Some Think So !!

The draft picks Buffalo gave up equates to a draft day trade up from 22 to 18. For a pressumed #1 that filled a massive void on the roster is a complete no brainer. The picks sound like alot but in reality the 5th and 6th picks are throw ins. Im not sure the NFL talking heads are even aware how those picks were accumulated. If NE was in on Diggs using their pick in the package is 3d chess and histerical. Beane turned 2 lineman who where not making the team last fall into pieces used to secure a # 1 wr. I think if the media told the whole story Buffalo comes out ahead. The only real question was 22 too much? Will that player be the caliber of Diggs? Its debatable. With Brady gone the division is wide open for the taking. Diggs completes the 11 personal and allows the weapons to slide into proper roles that better stresses a defense. Overall im not that impressed with highend depth of talent in this class. I feel by 22 you are essentially in the second round. -
Are the Niners a prime trade up (31st overall) candidate?
Mat68 replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For who? -
I dont see a rd 2 Rb as a back up. In my eyes its a co starter. Whoever can greater impact the offense is the direction. Whoever the #2 Rb is they are still going to be touching the ball 15 plus times a game.
-
The offense needs playmakers. They are set at the top 3 wr spots. They showed creativity to get every drop of production out of Mckenzie the last 2 years. If they put a dynamic athlete in that role while developing them into their system it makes a whole lot of sense to me. With Diggs the Bills are not tied to any type of Wr as a need. I do think the best weapon available at 54 needs to be the pick. Whether thats wr, te, or rb.
-
Part of me wonders if Bill just takes all of his years of clout and goodwill in NE and cashes all of it in this year. He tanks and puts NE in a position to draft Lawerence. Literally, going into the year with the Qb room that netted the browns 0 win s points to that outcome. Going from the top of the league to the bottom the year you let Brady walk takes massive brass you know whats.

With Moss improving his times he very well could be the target. His miss tackle % was very similar to Singeltary.

I dont see it. This isnt 08. NE doesnt have the best roster in the NFL. They will be haunted by getting cheap with Brady. 25 mil a year? NE couldnt do better? Very bizarre... I think Bill and Mcdaniels are feeling themsevles too much. Very arogent letting the Goat walk with noting but career backups and a day 3 Qb on the roster. -

For 20 years the Patriots could set game plans and build around the premise they would win the turnover battle. Brady even early on protected the football. Mcdaniels on offense was operating under the terms of being able to solve defensive problems using calculius. Almost their own language of sorts. Brady got them into the right play and knew the right throw. It was taking candy from a baby. Moving forward they are going to meet similar problems armed with addition and subtraction. Whoever plays Qb not only are they not as good throwing the football as Brady they are waaayyyyyyy behind the mental side. The Patriots are stuck in the situation Buffalo was when Kelly retired. They are armed with a good defense. The weapons on offense are aged. The holes and mistakes the organization have made over the last 20 years will apear when they dont have the Qb covering everything up. -
Would you keep the HC\GM combo if Allen doesn't work out.
Mat68 replied to downunderbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on the recignition and response to the issue. -
Even though he blew up the combine I think there is strong chance at Taylor being available at 54. With the incredible amount of usage at Wisconsin I think that will scare teams away. At 54 im ok with him because he will share the load with Singletary and he is on a reasonable rookie deal. He is the most produuctive and most athletic running back in the class. I think Buffalo runs to the podium and may even trade up for him in rd 2.

Diggs is as perfect pairing for the offense and Allen. With the NE principles that made Welker and Edleman famous, Diggs will be given freedom on jerk routes to get open. Beasley did non conventional moves to get open amd Allen found him alot. With Allens arm strength he can allow some freedom to Diggs and throw it to a spot. Diggs is also tops in the league since he entered in deep ball efficency. Having an elite deep threat is something Allen has always needed to stretch the whole fieild. Diggs moves all the other passing options down to an ideal position. Brown as the secondary option, Cole third and Knox forth really allows them to flurish with less attention.

Right now with the current state of travel I suspect the FA spending to be done. Unable to kick tires on older backs or players with checkered pasts off the field or injury seems like a calculation Mcbeane wont make. I dont recall many June 1 designated cuts at the start of FA, so the possiblitly of a secondary FA period is very real imo. -
Im not arguing Allen hasnt been good at it. For everything thats required from an NFL starting qb deep accuracy is pretty low on the list. The NFL average for the play is 46.6 percent. Yes, Allen was below average. I think I gave reasons why a handful of plays could reasonably fall the other way. If that happens Allen would be at or above league average. A total of 709 accurate deep passes (ACC) were thrown by 35 qualifying quarterbacks in 2018, an average of 19.0. The total amount of attempts came to 1,520, while the average was 43.4. The average accuracy percentage was 46.6 percent, and in this study 19 quarterbacks finished above that percentile.Jul 26, 2019 Football Outsiders › 2019 › 2018-1... 2018-19 Deep Ball Project | Football Outsiders
