Here's the most beautiful thing about this board. It isnt just a bunch of random, anonymous posters you'd find on reddit or in the comments section of youtube.
Most of us know each other off board as well. Tailgate with each other, etc. So we know who the people claiming to know things are, and how well they are connected.
That's fine. You can believe it. That's your right. Doesn't mean everyone has to.

Couple things in play here...
Could be they werent trying to move up 30+ picks, but rather 10-20 if he was still there. Then he went off the board at 92 and that was the end of that.
Also, could be that they were willing to trade the rest of their picks (4, 5, 6, 6, 7) to move up to get him. There arent that many open roster spots on the team as it is, and a few of us had already been knocking around the idea of staying put at 54 and 86, then cashing in for one more guy, and walking away with 3 picks who could all contribute right away.
Not impossible.
You're right, it isn't impossible.
But in terms of whether I think its likely?
For a team in recent years that has had huge success with day 3 picks.

@Kirby Jackson has said it and separately @thebandit27 has said. I would believe either of them individually, when they are both saying it I definitely believe it.
The fact it didn't happen might speak to exactly your point though, right? They couldn't find a deal that they were willing to do?
That's fine. People can claim it, and people have a right to believe it.
Equally people have a right to be a bit cynical that the Bills were about jump up 30+ spots for a WR in a deep WR class where they had already used their 1st,and multiple day 3 picks on a WR.

Also, not everything that is inside info comes out on this board—a LOT of it gets communicated via PM. That way if (and when) something doesn’t happen people don’t lose their minds. Perfect example is the AJ Green trade that came surprisingly close to happening at last year’s deadline.
That's sounds great, if you choose to believe it. The world is full of people claiming to know things.

Well let's say @Kirby Jackson is not just some random guy and when he has brought information to this board before it has been accurate. When Kirby says something I believe him.
That may be. But to trade up Duvernay is one that sounds a bit doubtful. You are trading up 30+ picks. That's a lot of draft capital

If they were so dead set on Dugger at 54, why wouldn’t they have drafted Jeremy Chinn who was still there at our pick? Similar players except Chinn is much younger. I don’t buy it.
Because just because 2 players played for small schools in a similar position doesn't mean team value them the same

Additionally, they tried to trade up for Duvernay.
I can't see it. They would have to do a New Orleans and chuck in their remaining draft.

Jags is where he’s headed imo.
Can't see it. The Jags are aimg for Lawrence and it isn't subtle

As of right now they don't. If they release Sanu that will put them at just above $0 in cap space. The question is how much will Dalton cost? He was set to have an $18 million cap hit this year, I'm not sure what kind of price he'll be looking for on the open market.
It isn't an open market. There are barely any jobs. And as Winston showed, QBs will take pay cuts to get in the right situation.
Dalton could easily take a Winston type 4m or so deal, and bank on doing well and getting paid next year

I heard they had 180+ live cameras they were juggling. Draft was pulled off great- sure some more Bills coverage would have been cool but overall awesome
In the current situation, to even put on the draft is admirable. But it can't be immune from criticism.
The ESPN NFL Network collaboration just didn't work. 6 analysts never would. I know they want to use their big money stars. But the coverage would have been improved significantly if they had cut 1 from each network. Likewise they over extended themselves with the cameras on prospects. The timings were all over the place. They should have less cameras and better use of them. They stretched themselves way too far
With more and more competition from online coverage via platforms such as Youtube, the big networks need to up their game next year
-
The whole video editing of draft picks was a joke. You could see by looking at the TV screens in the background the timings were all over the place.

A massive cap jump is expected because of the new CBA which will make that gap a lot smaller
-
This is almost as bad an idea as 2021 mocks.

I gave up on the ESPN coverage by halfway through the 1st round. The Bleacher Report coverage with Miller, Lefkoe and Rodgers was far better with much more analysis, especially on days 2 and 3.

That wasn't NFL.com's opinion. It was Chad Reuter's opinion. And yeah, it would make total sense to say something like, "NFL.com's Chad Reuter: "
Who is Chad Reuter? You never see him on TV or doing podcasts. He just seems to do long mocks and draft articles for nfl.com.
-
Odd that Bleacher Report that negative, given on their online stream (which was far better than Espn / NFL Network) Matt Miller and Conor Rodgers liked every pick.

What did he say? I’m honestly asking, because I didn’t listen. Thank you in advance.
Nothing he said discounts another punter. Indeed he kept going on about competition the whole call.
He talked about Vedvik's versatility and made no specific comment on his punting ability.
He never made any suggestion about not getting more competition in. He never said it was Borjequez vs Vedvik.

There is at least 1 NFL running back who won't be pleased to see AJ.

I don't know if I would of went QB at that point. I liked Morgan and Eason but I believe they were both gone. Maybe could of gone and got a FA QB like Glennon and if Dalton gets released I would of loved that. I expect Barkley to win backup spot and Fromm to PS.
Mike Glennon? As in Mike Glennon Mike Glennon?

I did. Where did he rule out any punter UDFAs?

No and he isn’t going to. They have 2 punters already.
No reason he wouldn't. Neither of the 2 are proven and its an open spot

None of them even have an NFL.com profile. Not the greatest sign.
Only Bills UDFA so far that I'd consider potentially more than just a camp body is Josh Thomas.
We will be a very unattractive place for UDFAs to sign this year. Despite a history of giving them a chance, its clear we have a loaded roster and it's one the toughest places to stick on a roster in the league at the moment.
Report: Bills we’re taking Dugger at 54 if he was there

That's plausible. But equally there were no doubt a number of players in the same position.
