Remember when we were widely criticized for moving the "undersized" Kyle Williams to nose tackle for a while? He only became a top 3 rated NT for the snaps he was there because of his ABILITY and motor. Pfft, I bet he only blows through triple teams, like, half the time.

Isn't this info already in the other thread about him?
-
Love reading all the nuclear hot takes from armchair coaches and GMs about a backup role player on a team with lots of cap space. Can football get here already? *edit* Like seriously, bitching about less than $3m/year being spent on a guy who fits our offense, that it "could be better spent elsewhere". WHERE? We're out of holes to fill and still have $20m+ to trade for big splash player upgrades. I'm tired of idiots just flinging baseless complaints without offering the alternative they are so sure exists. Sorry, rant over.

PI Challenge- Does it hurt the Pats?

Fun how rules to possibly clamp down on offensive pass interference come down AFTER Gronk (aka the king of pushing off and clubbing people with his "brace") retired. -
New O-Line; From 31st to top 5 in one off season?

I'll bet you a pound of wings at Duff's, although I'm cool with either lineup. -
Great article on Devin Singletary

I see the college workload as "cool, so he got a lot of reps and development in before being able to have a light learning year with us". Going to be an absolute stud starter next year when he graduates from sharing the #3 RB spot to the starter. People complain about Knox's lack of production but then complain this kid did too much... -
Then we could just put HIM on the practice squad. Genius!

Belichick would love to poach our 3rd round TE for free.
-
Crazy idea, but how about instead of hiring some random vet TE to be a TE coach, you just hire a TE coach. I went to school, doesn't make me a teacher.
-
Especially one they traded up to get. He's not some borderline 53rd roster spot, he's going to play. Predicting a super talented and needed TE from the 3rd round is going immediately to the PS is core of the sun levels of a hot take. *edit* Oh and if it still isn't clear to some, the practice squad isn't something you "just put" players on. You have to CUT them first. There aren't 31 other teams in the league who will take a talented TE to their 53 for free that we spent a pair of 4th round draft picks to get in the first place?

Beane's comments in the article on NFL.com seem to indicate they are leaning towards keeping Tyree on the roster as the #3.

What's our best case scenario for O-line?

Yeah I didn't see a thread about the benefits of playing to your strengths vs minimizing weaknesses. Thanks for your brilliant insight. -

The majority of people also consider themselves to be above average drivers. There's a reason why having a video player in operation in view of the driver is illegal. It's not something you should be "practicing". I can practice stunt driving but I'm never going to try it on public roads. I lost my tolerance for distracted driving when my dad was injured twice (neck fractures requiring persistent physical therapy) and had both cars wrecked just a couple months apart by "multitasking" drivers rear ending him while he was sitting at intersections. -
Let's say ALL our guys do well in camp, and ignore one year contracts in this consideration as it could be addressed next year. For OVERALL success, is the ceiling Dawkins/Spain/Morse/Ford/Nsekhe, Nsekhe/Dawkins/Morse/Spain/Ford, or something else? Do Long or Waddle grab a spot if they step up? Pre-draft I heard things like how Nsekhe might have been our best current option st RT, but his "true" position was LT. Now there's the discussion of Ford at RG vs RT. It makes me think of the value of having the biggest improvement at a single position, or shuffling the line for multiple smaller improvements. Is it better to play to a strength, or minimize weaknesses? There's the saying about your weakest link, but does that come into play as much considering play calling to work around it?

Brown and Beasley say hi. -
And yet still 7 picks in the first 4 rounds. That's a bit bigger of a deal.

Why risk a bad pass when the guy leads the nation in broken tackles and rushing touchdowns? If it aint broke, don't fix it.
