  1. ...agree 'Doc......still think McBeane trades down in the 1st for an extra 2nd.....if, IF one of the more heralded WR names is slipping, he has the flexibility to pull the trigger late 2nd or 3rd...BUT....don't count on OBD's "Phil Ivey" to be tipping his hand anytime soon....same for TE spot.......
  2. ....my lowly posts emanate from the "bowels of the TBD basement" only to admire those far superior with a better brain...my apology..........
  3. ...absolutely agree.....dismissed from Auburn and signs with Rams as UDFA only to be cut.....perseveres and goes to CFL where he seems to have worked hard and cleaned it up....certainly has to know that McDermott probably has given him his last chance at the NFL......McDermott skillfully gave Foster his wake up call and he responded.....hope Duke does the same....sad that some of the expert TBD posters have already determined he is "nothing but camp fodder"...... ...um ok.......that MUST be it.....SMH.............
  4. ...Whaley had his faults, but they ALL do........McBeane has had some head scratching gaffes which have been discussed numerous times....I'm not even sure what Whaley's horsepower was and we'll never know factually IMO...was he a bonafide "in charge GM"?......or was he GM in title but being directed as a "personnel gopher" as in this is what/who we want, go find him/them?......McBeane is in my opinion a bonafide "in charge GM".....as I said elsewhere, poster MAGOX wrote the BEST assessment I've seen to date......he analyzed certain aspects of McBeane's job performance to date and graded them accordingly.......and his final grade was: INCOMPLETE as in "now show me RESULTS between the white stripes"......
  5. ..quite the classy organization....screwed the pooch, players and now UCF............. After AAF shutdown, players bought own plane tickets home: Report By Thomas BarrabiPublished April 03, 2019SportsFOXBusiness The Alliance of American Football’s Opens a New Window. sudden decision to suspend operations Opens a New Window. this week forced newly unemployed players to pay out of pocket for flights home, according to a report. AAF Literally Never Paid UCF to Use Their Stadium 06 Apr 2019-12 Up Sports No matter how you spin it, the Alliance of American Football was a complete joke. It's hard to paint this league in a positive light. They didn't complete their first season, getting through just eight weeks before deciding to suspend all league activities. That's obviously not the best look, but what makes matters much worse is the AAF's inability to pay every employee and partner they pledged to pay. One of the biggest losers of this whole experimental league? The University of Central Florida, which will lose out on over $1 million thanks to the league effectively canceling the rest of their season. The AAF signed a lease with UCF to have its very own Spectrum Stadium house the Orlando Apollos franchise. It seemed like a good deal... until the AAF didn't pay the university a dime, and then turned around and shut down operations with no new money on the way to pay any vendors.
  6. ...darn good point Logic........NOT a criticism, but I just don't see how Overdorf could have the knowledge/expertise about a possible signee regarding his market value/skill set among his peers financially nor the appropriate length of the deal (McBeane and his staff of 17+, many of which are VP's of Player Personnel or Directors of Pro Player Personnel from elsewhere have that expertise IMO)....more reasonably, I could see McBeane handing over the agreed upon details of the deal and Overdorf drawing up the contract, followed by a cap update to McBeane as to where things now stand.....my speculation....BTW on the Williams kid: pretty sad how some of the TBD posting experts already have him labelled as "camp fodder that won't even make the team".....welcome Duke.....just sidestep the pigeon s%$t on the red carpet rolled out for you...SMH....
  7. ....good, bad or indifferent, it seems to contradict the powers & control that Overdorf was given in 2008......certainly possible he ceded those powers....still being employed at OBD today, wonder what powers he currently has....and I STILL maintain the scurrilous Littman had financial veto powers, protecting his gratis 1% interest in the club courtesy of Ralph.....got a nice check for $14 mil when Pegs bought Bflo.......
  8. ...agree with this and they went about it in the way they felt it had to be done.....also agree on the culture part.......Marrone's big selling point to Brandon was professing "culture change"....he called Brandon almost daily to find out his hire status......problem was Doug acted like General Patton......a close friend (diehard fan) hosted a staff dinner one night after practice and restaurant was 20 minutes late serving..he went nuts and rushes everybody to finish so to make up the 20 minutes...and then back to Fisher for MORE meetings, usually until 9 or 10PM, with Brandon/Whaley required to be there...they got sick of it and turned on him....the culture got worse IMO under Wrecks because he was a bloviating azzclown with no discipline....turning us into his "Jets West Circus" set this club back two years....enter McDermott with his broom, mop, dust pan and dumpster to clean up the mess.....not so sure about Whaley being the contracts culprit......see the 2008 headline about Overdorf's promotion and then decide......he is still there and I doubt he surrendered that control to Whaley....... Bills promote Overdorf to senior VP in minor restructuring Published: Jan. 31, 2008 at 11:34 a.m.- Associated Press Updated: July 26, 2012 at 08:17 p.m ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Jim Overdorf was promoted to Buffalo Bills senior vice president of football administration, giving him control over contract negotiations and salary cap decisions. The move announced Thursday was part of a minor front office restructuring that follows Russ Brandon's promotion to chief operating officer. Brandon's promotion came after the Bills elected not to fill the general manager's role after Marv Levy stepped down at the end of the season. For Overdorf, the promotion means he formally becomes the team's top executive in day-to-day football matters, answering to Brandon and Bills owner Ralph Wilson. Overdorf is entering his 23rd season with the team and has handled contract talks for most of this decade.
  9. ...LOL....thinkin' Ray-Ray is uh-oh............
  10. AAF players who have signed with NFL teams: • Damontre Moore, San Diego Fleet (DL): Signed with San Francisco (Adam Schefter, ESPN) • Keith Reaser, Orlando Apollos (CB): Signed with Kansas City Chiefs (Adam Schefter, ESPN) • Rashad Ross, Arizona Hotshots (WR): Signed with Carolina Panthers (Adam Schefter, ESPN) • Garrett Gilbert, Orlando Apollos (QB): Signed with Cleveland Browns (Team announcement) • Derron Smith, San Antonio Commanders (Safety): Signed with Minnesota Vikings (Team announcement) • Duke Thomas, San Antonio Commanders (CB): Signed with Minnesota Vikings (Team announcement)
  11. ...typical for the expert "TBD posting optimists" to have already labeled him camp fodder......welcome to Bflo son, the mecca of a pigeon stained "red carpet"......go figure....
  12. ...well, was he wrong?.......Brandon swindled Pegula into signing Wrecks who gets canned and still gets paid for five years.....Brandon's "Director of Internal AFFAIRS" snafu gets his 5 year, $10 mil deal VOIDED.....uh oh........
  13. WTF?..Al?....we wouldn't be here without the Internet and global warming Bflo snow....shame shame..
  14. ...wouldn't surprise me one bit if McBeane set aside some FA bucks as "burn money" if guys like Teller beat out some of the new one year signees and are cut......think this guy is one methodical planning SOB on a mission.......stay tuned....
  15. ...true, but if any of these guys show up big by the 3/4 pole, what's to prevent McBeane from talking extension in season?.....
  16. ....code for the "Maalox Gang", right??.............
  17. ...the MAGOX post could not have said it any better.......he graded various aspects of McBean's performance and his final grade was INCOMPLETE......couldn't have said it any better meaning wait for "on field results" IMO.......
  18. ...what style of RB are you hoping for Yolo?......a Barkley/Zeke type or perhaps a McCaffery, or something other?.....what would be the best fit?.......
  19. ....LMAO.....rather watch a can of Sherwin Williams dry while on my porch in the rocking chair versus this....
  20. ...hope he shows up...he stiffed VanBortel Ford for an autograph signing night and none other than FredEx came to the rescue......stayed until EVERY fan got an autograph....classy Fred as usual....
